Why can't I install Pages anymore?

I have a late-2011 version of the Macbook Pro, bought in early 2012 and running OS X Lion 10.7.5. Sometime later in the year I paid $19.99 to download Pages from the App Store as it did not automatically come with my Mac. Recently my hard drive broke and was replaced by Apple under my Apple Care warranty, and now I have to re-install my old apps. When I go to the App Store, under Purchases I can see that Pages is there. But when I click Install, I get the message, "We could not complete your purchase. Pages cannot be installed on Macintosh HD because Mac OS X version 10.9 or later is required."
Seriously?! I already paid a lot for this product and only got two years out of the purchase. I don't want to update to Mavericks just to have Pages.
Why does this problem exist anyway? If I didn't update iTunes, it's not like I wouldn't have access to the music I already purchased. I don't understand why this is the case with the App Store.

Sadly, not much came of that interaction. Each time I received a response it seemed there was something I didn't understand or a word missing in a sentence. Eventually I asked if it was possible for a friend to send me an old version of Pages and if I would be able to link it to my own Apple ID, and I was recommended to talk to the technical department (via a phone number). I'm not comfortable enough with the language of the country I'm living in to give them a call though, so I guess I'll be putting this off for a bit.
For the record I checked Pages in the App Store again, and it seems they have another new version that is only compatible with Yosemite. Glad I didn't bother updating to Mavericks!

I use to be able to install the downloaded versions of Mozilla Firefox using a simple switch on the command line. The switch was -ms. It worked great through, I think, version 24.0. No versions after that have worked. Is there a reason? It there an "easy" workaround? I've seen stuff that tells you create a config file and add it to the install. Surely there is an easier way? which version of OS X is installed on your Mac, and which version of Adobe Reader do you have installed? Did you ensure that all of your browsers were not running when you’d installed Adobe Reader?
To use Preview to open PDFs, download the PDFs to your Mac, and then use Preview to open the PDFs locally. Since you can open PDFs in Firefox, it sounds like you don’t need the Preview workaround.

I could use paste special from the pull down menu and did. Paste special worked once, now is ghosted too.

Why can't I install the newer version of Flash when I already have the older one?

My virus software is turned off. I have Flash currently on my computer. In the troubleshooting page I can see the clouds in the picture so I know my current flash is working. I went into the internet settings for add-ons and the flash is currently enabled. Why can't I install the newer version of Flash? I tried the run and save option and it still didn't work. I can see the installer in my downloads folder. But, all I get is a black blank box that does nothing. What else can I try to get the installer to actually install the updated version of flash?

Generate the error message again. While the error message box is open, hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply.

Why can't I install Snow Leopard on my videos hard drive?

I have a Mac Pro with four hard drives. Lion is on the primary drive but I need Snow Leopard for a legacy app. My plan is to install Snow Leopard on a hard drive that I use for video projects, and then restart from that drive when I need to use the old app. The problem is that the Snow Leopard installation disk says that it can't install onto the videos hard drive unless I partition the hard drive, which will erase all the data. Why can't it install onto the videos hard drive? There's no operating system on that hard drive. The hard drive has folders for Final Cut Express Projects, iMovie Events, iMovie Projects, DVDs movies I've ripped, a folder of music, and an iDVD project. What do I need to remove to enable installing Snow Leopard?

If I understand what you are saying you have a drive with "stuff" already on it and you want to install a version of OSX on to it while still retaining that "stuff". If that's what you want to do you cannot do that mainly because there's already "stuff" on that drive.
The only way you can do this is to either of the following:
a. Copy the "stuff" off that drive to another drive. Install the OS. Copy the "stuff" back on to the newly created boot drive.
b. Copy the "stuff" off that drive on to another drive. Partition the drive into at least 2 partitions; one for the boot and one for the "stuff". Install the OS into one of the partitions. Copy the "stuff" back to the other partition.
Either way, if you want to use that disk for a boot disk, you got to get that "stuff" out of the way to do the OSX install on to that disk.

Theoretically, Microsoft is deciding what apps you can install. In Windows RT, you can only install apps from the Windows Store and they must be ARM-based, things that Apple and iTunes don't meet, so you can't use iTunes in Windows RT
