Why can't I install updates?

This morning a window popped up saying that I have four Adobe apps that need to be updated. I clicked the window to start that process and in a moment, got a window saying "Update Failed, Updates could not be applied, You are already running the Adobe Application Manager. Please close all instances . . . etc". I was not already running App Manager. I re-booted, same symptoms. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit. Apps include Photoshop CC, LR5.3, Acrobat X Pro, Premiere Elements 12, Photoshop Elements 12.
Can anyone help?

Can you please open the task manager and check whether there is any instance
of any adobe application running in the background. If yes please terminate that
process and then try to update again.

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your ZTE Open C device updates. I experienced this same issue in a ZTE Open C device in the past.

Why can't I install iOS 8.0 on my iPhone 5?

When I try to install it, a message says that I need 4.6 GB of storage available to install the update to the operating system, although the specs from Apple state that the update is 957 MB. If you have a Computer with iTunes you will not need to make that room available. If you do have to upgrade via WiFi you will have to make nearly as much memory available as it says (a little less typically works). Any Apps you purchased will be available in the App Store if you go to Update and click on Purchases. Then you will see all the Apps that you have ever purchased from the App Store and you can download them for free. With regard to any of you Photos or Music that you may need to delete to make room you will need to ensure that those were already in some Backup at iCloud or on your Computer. Even though iOS 8 is less than a GB the process of downloading and unpacking and preparing things takes the extra memory.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I already did all of these things. As you can see from the below screenshot, the language is already set. Also, this screenshot was taken in Safe Mode, so NoScript is not enabled. About:accounts still says I need to enable cookies for some reason. So, this solution didn't work....

Why can't I install the newer version of Flash when I already have the older one?

My virus software is turned off. I have Flash currently on my computer. In the troubleshooting page I can see the clouds in the picture so I know my current flash is working. I went into the internet settings for add-ons and the flash is currently enabled. Why can't I install the newer version of Flash? I tried the run and save option and it still didn't work. I can see the installer in my downloads folder. But, all I get is a black blank box that does nothing. What else can I try to get the installer to actually install the updated version of flash?

Why can't I install lion? This is a 2.16 core2duo running 10.6.8, with 3GB of memory.

Please, don't assume I'm stupid. It is a 2.16 core2duo. It is not a core duo.

Also, it runs Lion with no problem from an external disk. I'm running an install attempt now from an external drive. I tried upgrading the drive to lion before installing it in the MB Pro, but when I tried to boot from it, it booted to the Apple screen with the progress bar like when you update firmware which froze after awhile. I repartitioned the drive and started over again.
It is is partioned correctly.

What iOS version are you currently running?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Mountain Lion already has the most recent, updated version of AirPort Utility installed on your Mac. The version on your CD is out of date, so you can trash the CD.
Look in Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility.

10.6.6 was the 1st to support the App Store, 10.6.8 is actually needed now as a minimum.
Install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.(10.9/Mavericks is the only download available now without specially calling Apple).
