  • "Why can't I install Flash Player on my Tablet?" (Kindle or Samsung Galaxy)

Your tablet (Kindle or Galaxy) uses the Android Operating System.
Adobe stopped ALL development of Flash for Android last year. (July 2012) That includes Kindle as well as Samsung Tablets. Additionally, Samsung and Amazon have ended support for Flash in ALL of their newest tablet models.
The following is from Samsung Support (07/31/2013):
"Beginning August 15, 2012 we will use the configuration settings in the Google Play Store to limit continued access to Flash Player updates to only those devices that have Flash Player already installed. Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after August 15th, 2012."
    And from Kindle Support (07/31/2013):
"The Amazon Silk web browser on Kindle Fire 1st Generation supports some, but not all, versions of Flash. Adobe Flash is pre-installed on a 1st Generation Kindle Fire and is disabled by default.
If you see a message to install Flash while using your Kindle Fire, this means that the content you're attempting to view uses Flash. If you want to view the content, you'll need to enable Flash through the Silk settings menu.
If a web page suffers from slow performance due to Flash, or you're unable to view a web page with Flash enabled, we recommend switching to mobile view when browsing a Flash-heavy website to see if that solves your problem:
Some popular websites may also have an app available. Check Amazon Appstore, accessible through the Apps library on your Kindle Fire, for availability.
The Amazon Silk web browser on Kindle Fire 2nd Generation, Kindle Fire HD 7", and Kindle Fire HD 8.9" doesn't support Flash.
Some sites use alternative web technologies to Flash in their mobile versions. We recommend switching to mobile view when browsing a website with Flash content to see if that solves your problem:
Some popular websites may also have an app available. Check Amazon Appstore, accessible through the Apps or Games library on your Kindle Fire, for availability."
    See: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
There are older versions of Flash Player (for Android) at that link, but there are no guarantees any of them will work.

You can find info about "Dolphin" for Android at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser It seems to be the browser of choice to play Flash content on an Android device.
Also, check the Android forums to see what their "gurus" recommend.

    Hello,
Flash Player is not supported on mobile devices, and has never been supported on Windows phone.  I am not aware of alternative option for Windows phone users.

  • Why can I not install flash player or silverlight.

I am using OS X Ver 10.8.2 on two seperate machines and was recently asked to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. I downloaded it from the Adobe site and ran the install as they explained and it failed after approx 10%. I then used their uninstall progran and manually removed the files from the plug-in library and tried again and still got no further.
At the same time I was also asked to update Silverlight to run Sky-go and without repeating myself, have had a similar problem with that. If it was only the Mac book Pro I could accept my mistake but this has also happened on my Mac mini server which is about 12 months old.
Is there a problem with the latest OS X update? or can any one help with this.

    Historically:
2008 (March) - Apple® released the first iPhone, using iOS®. Steve Jobs was insistent and adamant that iOS® was NOT compatible with Flash® and NEVER WILL BE. Jobs' reasoning was that playing Flash® content is processor consumptive and it drains batteries, thus shortening the life of them in mobile devices. In six years, that hasn't changed. Not for the iPhone®, iPad® or iPod® Touch™. It never will change and there never will be a Flash Player® for iOS®.

  • Why can't I use Flash player?

    Hi
Does anyone know why Apple will not use Adobe Flash? It is really frustrating to be told " you need to install the latest version of Adobe Flash player" and know that it cannot be done!

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
A sample of Apps that can display some Flash content:
      1. Puffin
      2. SkyFire
      3. Photon Flash
      4. Browse2Go
      5. Swifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • Why Can't I Download Flash Player?

I have repeatedly tried to download Flash Player after getting pop-up messages from Adobe that tell me I cannot open attachments to emails because I need Flash Player 9.0 or higher.  The messages say to download the latest Flash Player click here.  I follow the instructions to the letter and get a message that the download of Flash Player 10 has successfully been completed.  Then the next time I try to open an email attachment I get the same failure message.  I have also gotten led to an Adobe tutorial entitled Flash Player | 64-bit operating systems which directs me to select the 32-bit Internet Explorer system on my computer by going to Start>Programs.  I followed the download instructions using the 32-bit IE system and the download message says that Flash Player 10.0 has been successful.  But I still cannot open the email attachments and still get the message that I need to download Flash Player 9.0 or higher.  If I go to my complete list of programs on the Install or Remove Programs, I find a listing for several Adobe products such as Acrobat, ReaderX, Digital each of which has a size in bytes.  Flash Player 10 is listed but there is nothing shown in the byte size column.
My computer is a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion with an Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40 GHz  64-bit operating system using Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2.  The default browser which I use is Internet Explorer 64-bit.
I'm 80 years old and trying hard to get along with computers.  Please know that any help provided on this frustrating problem will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.  And please make your suggestions in great detail without assuming I know very much.

Hi James, Check and make sure the Shockwave Flash Object is Enabled in your IE manage addons.
In FF, look for the Shockwave Flash plugin and make sure it's Enabled.
Make sure you are using the 32bit browser and not the 64bit.
Also check this for IE: (you want this OFF, not on)
    To turn on ActiveX Filtering
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, point to Safety, and then click ActiveX Filtering.
To turn off ActiveX Filtering on a specific website
In Internet Explorer, click the Filter button in the Address bar, and then click Turn off ActiveX Filtering.
To turn off ActiveX Filtering on all websites
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, point to Safety, and then click ActiveX Filtering.
I don't have time to check on why Chrome is not working. Make sure your Anti-Virus is not blocking.
Also when you are trying to Install, all browser windows must be Closed.
Will check back later, but it's best to start you own topic as Pat suggested and flutie has done.

  • I can't finish installing flash player.  My browser is closed but it says its open

Programs keep saying that I don't have flash player installed, but when I check it, I have the most current version. When I try to download flash player, it only installs halfway and says to close my internet explorer, but I have already closed it.  Why am I getting all these errors and how do I fix it?

    What programs say that?
Regarding reinstalling, see How to close Internet Explorer and other programs running on Windows?

  • Can I still install Flash Player 8

I upgraded to Flash Player 9 a few days ago but it doesn't
work! Maybe because my Windows XP is not updated. (I can't get
updates for it.) Can I just go back to what I had? I think it was
Flash 8. Is it available for download? Or is there something else
that I should be doing to get Flash 9 to work?
    Thanks

It got installed and it plays in some sites but not all! I
just know my old one played everything fine!
    Thanks

  • Can Iphone/Ipad install flash player?

I cannot display video from lots of website and cannot install flas player from Adobe. This is very disppapoint, ever time that I try to open. And don't understand why !!!!

  • Can't download/install Flash Player 10

    Guys,
I'm running IE8 on Windows 7 Pro x64 and I am having trouble downloading flash player. I am trying to directly download from the following link: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe as the abobe DLM freezes at a very small download completion rate (under 1%). The download begins but at a VERY slow tranfer rate of between 55 bytes/s and 400 bytes/s ...but never actually completes, even after hours.
There are no issues with my internet connection; I am able to download files from other sites at regular speed. I have tried disabling my firewall/AV while attempting the download, which had no effect.
This is a very strange issue as I have, in the past, been able to successfully download the active x control directly from the link provided (having tried and failed to install FP via adobe DLM) and there was no issue whatsoever - that time was my first clean install of Windows 7, this being my second.
Is there an issue with the adobe site server? I have spent ages looking for an alternate location from which to download flash player but have not found anything suitable and/or trustworthy.
Any assistance that anyone could offer would be very much appreciated,
    Navster

    Thanks for your response.
Just to clarify, I am using 32 bit IE8 under 64 bit Win7 Pro.
And just to re-stress the point; I am having trouble downloading flash player from the direct link to the activeX exe - I have not even got to the point where I can install it yet!
    Regards,

  • Can't Re-Install Flash Player at all and now Can't Re-install Shockwave Player

I am helping a user who states his Flash Player vanished, when trying to download the latest version we are getting:
    error message: "Installation failed. www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166"
The system is running Windows XP Pro and Internet Explorer 6. I have tried all of the troubleshooting and tips/tricks found here and via searching with Blackle. This user has to use all sorts of types of flash players to do his job and needs to get Adobe's running again. I have tried everything and he is NOT willing to reimage the pc yet. Can anyone help???

Try uninstalling Flash Player first, then do a clean install
    download the FP uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157 (save to disk);
    download the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);
close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer.
The offline installer for Shockwave Player is here http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/default/english/win95nt/latest/Shockwave_In staller_Slim.exe

  • Why can't I install Flash?

I can't install Flash. I've shut off protection through internet options and also my virus software. When I download it, it says it finished. Can't watch so many videos! I have Windows 7.

Download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller and installer directly by right clicking the following links and selecting "Save target as".
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save the files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT run anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything, go to the Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove all instances of Flash Player.
    Next, run the ActiveX installer.
Lastly, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

  • Can't Properly Install Flash Player

When I download Flash Player to Windows XP Professional {version 2002 SP3} on my Lenovo SL500 laptop, everything seems to go smoothly.  But when I go to the Start button to list All Programs, Adobe FP is not listed.  When I go to the Control Panel/Add & Remove Programs, Adobe Download Manager & Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX are there, but the latter shows no amount of space used/just blank in the Size column.
I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, temporarily disabling the AV software {Eset NOD32 Antivirus 4.0}, closing all other applications, and clearing out the browser history/cache, and then down-loading the new FP, but I always get the same result:  no FP that works.  Under the security settings in IE for both internet & trusted sites, I've adjusted the security levels to medium, and the Active Scripting has been enabled.  Also, when I have IE open {version 8.0}, Tools>Manage Add-ons, I do not see the Shockwave Flash object listed {even when I select Show all add-ons}.  I recently was a victim of Antivirus8.  But the next day, Eset was able to kill it, and my computer has been working fine ever since, up until this problem with the FP.  Today, I downloaded & did a scan with the free version from Malwarebytes.com, which corraled 3 tainted files & elimnated them.  But still no working FP e.g. I can't see the animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about.  Did this virus damage the registry?  How can I resolve this?  Help!

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

I've completed the 1st four steps, with step 4 renaming the file to Remove_kill-bit.reg
However, in step 5, double-clicking doesn't execute it.  Double clicking only opens up the Notepad file.
I wonder what went wrong - do you still have that original file you have created?
It is possible that you have file extensions hidden, so after you saved the file (as Remove_kill-bit.txt) it showed only as Remove_kill-bit ?  In that case, renaming it would actually rename it to Remove_kill-bit.reg.txt, so it would still open in Notepad.
I will amend my original instructions, and also add a comment that it may be safer / easier to just download the zipped file.
Thank you for your feedback.  And I'm glad it worked!

  • Can't re-install flash player

I am using IE 8.0.06001, XP and currently have no flash player installed.
I also have Norton Utilities as a firewall.
Last night, I kept getting IE add-on errors for the Flash version 9 (something).  After each error, IE would crash.
I thought I needed to update Flash Player.
So, I followed the installation instructions.  I unistalled all previous version (using the uninstaller).  I rebooted and then I attempted to install FP 10.1.  After I hit the Agree and Install yellow button, it would move to the next page.  After hanging for 3 or 4 minutes, I kept getting a GetPlus+ error with in my operating system.  The number associated with the error changes each time.
I also attempted to download this norton completely disabled, but the same thing was happening.
I had absolutely NO issues with my computer prior to the re-installation attempt.  The computer behaves fine until i come across a website that has flash and then it crashes again.
It seems to me the initial uninstallation corrupted something.  Help!

The GetPlus error comes from the Adobe download manager.
Use the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe to get around the problem.
