Why can't I just drop my music from my PC to my Ipad.

Your songs are sync with iDevices through iTunes.
This way you need to install iTunes on your PC (the current version of iTunes is 11.0.4).
So just conect your iPad to the PC (with the USB cable) and choose on iTunes the songs you want to sinc.

I ditched 4.0 and went back to 3.6.17 but I can't drag and drop with it either. The Favicom idea didn't work for me either. Once in a great while it will work, but usually that ends up screwing up my bookmarks and everything being re-arranged. How could something so simple and basic NOT WORK anymore?

Why can't I sync my iTunes music from my computer to my 4s iPhone?

After both of the newest upgrades, I'm having trouble syncing my music from my computer's iTunes onto my 4s iPhone. After experimenting, somehow I managed to delete a couple playlists off of my phone (which when I plugged in to sync, it deleted the playlists from my library...very annoying, now I have to sort all of my music into playlists again).
I have always synced what was on my computer to my phone. Why is what I'm doing on my phone changing what's on my computer's iTunes? And why won't any of my new music sync onto my phone?
Any suggestions or help is much appreciated, thanks!!

Spoke with Apple support on this issue. After deleting all music and playlists from the phone, unchecking ALL boxes within Music tab on phone, and syncing, music was removed from phone. Then went back and checked sync music/selected playlists/the playlists I wanted on the phone, and it successfully synced those playlists. I did lose the purchased playlist on the phone, which I like because it's my newest music, but that is easily fixed by making a smart playlist of recent purchases and adding it to the sync.

I just up loaded a load of music onto my computer and then when I press ctrl and s and try to drag the album tag over the iPad one it just comes up with a red cross and won't let me drop anything in it !

You will need to Sync your iPad and all Music/Albums Selected will transfer over from iTunes..

Why can't I back up the music from my iPod 160 GB to my computer any more?

The only option I see is to back up purchases from my iPod. What about the music that I've added from CD's? II want to be able to back up all the content on my iPod to my computer. Why does this option not show up any more. If I sync the computer, it will erase everything on the iPod. HELP!

The option you are referring to has never existed. Apple has only ever allowed you to transfer iTunes purchases from your iPod back to your PC. Otherwise the sync process is only one way and that is from iTunes to the iPod.

Why can I not just import my bookmarks from Chrome? I do not know how to do this html thing it says that I must do.

I have no idea how to make an html out of my bookmarks on Chrome, but it says that I have to do that to import my bookmarks. If there isn't an easy way to do this I'll just keep using CHrome even though I've been told that Shockwave won't crash as often with Firefox.

Why can't I find a downloaded CD from iTunes on iMac and iPad via iCloud

Yesterday I downloaded a CD for the first time from iTunes to my iPad. I thought all of the settings to connect to iCloud were in place and correct. However, I cannot now see the CD tunes on my iPod or iMac. What am I doing wrong? Where can I check if the CD has in fact arrived in iCloud. If I have the idea that iCloud should be sending this purchase directly to my iPod and iMac is this wrong? Can anyone help?

Videos and movies purchased from the iTunes Store are by demand of the content owners copy protected and cannot be edited, regardless of what the software is you attempt to use. There is nothing anyone here can do to help you with that. If you need to be able to edit videos, you'll need to purchase and import the DVD - such importing is despite the content owners' efforts still legal for class use (as with any copyright issue, confirm fair use issues with your district's legal office) though we can't discuss methods here - which you'll then be able to edit.

hello. I use the photoshop touch app for my iPad. it was working great. I was able to edited my pictures and was able to share them with no problem. I did the update on a few days ago To the app. But now I am unable to save the pictures or even share them. It just says processing but nothing happens. It may be a glitch with the update. Please help

Why can't I just download the old iPod app? The new music app offers NO podcast support?

Mine plays them fine ... But it did move the Podcast button off the main page. Click on "More" and then you should see them. You might want to make sure that iTunes is still syncing podcasts to your phone.
If you click "edit" (top left) you can move it back to the bottom row.

Hi. I have not used Roxio Jam for quite a long time and I just wanted to make a few CDs. Jam used to work easily and well. I have a problem. I can't drag and drop iTunes music files anymore and, now I have to import music one song at a time by using the "+" or "-" buttons on the bottom. What is going on? I trashed the preferences file and restarted Jam to no avail. I also have selected that Jam should open files with iTunes in the Jam preferences. I have a G5 DP 2Ghz PPC machine with OS 10.4.11, iTunes 9.2.1 and Quicktime's version is 7.6.4. I have 2 GB of RAM and the machine has dual 1.25 Ghz. processors plus a 500 GB HD. Can anybody give me any suggestions?

I found an solution.
Uninstalling AirParrot as well as the two offending AirParrotDriver.kext and APExtFramebuffer.kext files in System>Library>Extensions was the fix. All problems disappeared.

1. Firefox is the only browser that always give me trouble attaching files in gmail. I still use firefox for all browsing but for mail attachments, I use others. And yes, I have done the "Clear cookies, reset, reinstall, clear cache, etc etc etc... none worked for more than a few days. no such problem with other browsers.
2. Your new updated search bar (Top right hand corner) is nice but can be very irritating for the following reason:
I like to highlight - copy (a word or phrase) - and paste it in the search bar. was fine with the older version, but now as soon as I right click to past, the menu pops up for me to select a search engine. Very irritating since I have yet to paste the copied word or phrase. I rather paste it and then have the option to click on the drop down menu. If you see this as not something masses would want, please place an option in setting for us to stop the suggestion for search engines coming up automatically when we try to right click in the side search bar to paste.

You can change the order of the boxes on the about:newtab page and drag an item to a different tile to pin it to that position or you can remove a website by clicking the close X to block that URL.
You can drag a bookmark or history item and drop them in a tile on the about:newtab page to pin them and have your own favorites sites showing.
Changes made manually on the about:newtab page are stored in prefs that you can find on the about:config page.
*browser.newtabpage.pinned stores websites that you have pinned to a tile.
*browser.newtabpage.blocked stores websites that you have removed by clicking the X button in a tile.
So you can reset those prefs via the right-click context menu to reset changes made to the about:newtab page.

Why can't I just do this...

I will be upgrading to a mac pro soon, and I was reading around on topics regarding itunes library transfer. Why can't I just drag my current user/music file to the user/music file on the new computer? I know I will be resetting all of my preferences, but this way sounds logical to me, will it work?

The migration works like this:
When you first power on the Mac Pro, it opens a setup assistant. The setup assistant asks you if you want to transfer stuff from another Mac. It then has you put your old Mac into a special mode that allows it to be used as an external disk on the new Mac. More info is here and here.
If your old computer doesn't have the data on it anymore, you may be out of luck though. I don't know if it will transfer settings from a FireWire disk. If the disk is an exact clone of the hard drive in your old Mac, it might.

You can do that. You can copy the entire Music folder and create an alias for where it normally belongs. However, OS X will not allow you to delete the entire Music folder without a little extra work:
Copy the /Home/Music/ folder to the desired new location. Create an alias to the new location and put the alias in the /Home/ folder. You will now have a "Music" and a "Music alias" in your /Home/ folder. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. At the prompt enter:
sudo rm -rf ~/Music
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted (it will not be echoed) then press RETURN again. The old Music folder should disappear. Now rename the "Music alias" folder to "Music".
