You can only use one credit card to one Apple ID.

HT5610 I am having trouble authorizing my computer to allow me to access songs I have purchased through itunes on my iPad. The directions say to select the "authorize computer" in the menu but i don't see that anywhere in the iTunes menu. Any ideas?

If you're using iTunes 11 click on the box icon in the top-left corner to see the " Show Menu Bar "
and from the Menu Bar select Store...
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.

Is there some way I can access ALL my previous purchases through iTunes?

I have recently purchased a new MacBook Pro and am looking to create an iTunes library listing all songs I have purchased through iTunes.
Is there a way in iTunes for me to view ALL purchases I have previously made? So far I can only view purchases I have made via this new computer and I am unable to view the iTunes library on my old laptop, as I managed to break the screen, hence the reason for the purchase of this laptop.

The purchase history only shows a listing of what you've purchased. You can only download an item from the iTunes Store once. For purchases you made in the past, you'll need to copy the item (track, video, movie, etc.) from your old laptop, or from your backups, to your new computer.

You still have to turn on Automatic Downloads on all devices for this to happen like you want. This will explain how to do that.

Why can't I make a purchase in the American iTunes store?

I am a Canadian resident who would like to make a purchase in the US ITunes store. I don't know anyone in the US nor do I have a credit card with an American billing address. Is there any possible way for me to make a purchase in the American store, or am I pretty much screwed? I buy lots of music and all I want to do is give the US Store my money-why is this so hard? This wouldn't be an issue if the Canadian store just had what I am looking for (i.e. TV Shows!) -why does the selection vary from country to country anyway?

Again, It's not up to Apple. They would love to have every track available to everyone in the world. The record companies and other rights holder are different in every country, though, so they require separate negotiation by Apple for the rights in each country. And since the rights are held separately in different countries, they all restrict Apple (and every other legal download store) to selling only to users within that particular country.
So again, Apple can do nothing to change this unless and until the record companies arrive at a cross-border sales agreement, something I don't see happening anytime in the foreseeable future, even within the EU.

Why can't I read books purchased from itunes on my macbook pro?

I find it very upsetting that books purchased from itunes on a Macbook pro can not be read on a Macbook Pro.

Many MacBook Pro users are professional authors, reseachers, teachers, ... and we need to manage large libraries of copy protected digital material (journals, book collections, protected imagery, ...) , which we directly reference and include (with citations) in our writing and analyses.
Laptops and desktops are the only viable options in terms of screen real estate (multiple monitors needed), application availability (image analytics, serious statistics, real 2D and 3D modeling, ...) high speed storage attachment (the cloud can't handle many needs) and processing horse power. iPads and iPhones are a few generations away from being adequate for many such activities, which Apple had traditionally supported.
This particular oversight by the folks behind the Apple iTunes bookstore business, stands in stark contrast to what used to be our vision of the premier professional creative platfom. I find this deeply dissappointing and inconsiderate of our long term investment in apple technologies.
Asking folks to simply abandon their investment in copy protected ebook material, purchased on iTunes, is just wrong.

Can't finish Downloading rented movie purchased through iTunes on my iPad

I rented two movies through iTunes that quit downloading part way through on march 1 and 2. If I go back to the rental area it says to watch and I hit it, it takes me to the video and says video is not downloaded go to your downloads and I have none showing!! How do I download now? Ensure that airplay is not disabled on your Apple TV and that both devices are on the same network. Then when playing the movie on your iPad, select the airplay icon in the control bar, tap it, select the Apple TV from the contextual menu that appears. The movie should now stream to your Apple TV.

My wife recently got a HTC One M8 (windows) phone and wants to transfer her music purchases over to her new phone. How can the AAC protection be removed so the music will play on something other than an Apple product?

AAC is not protection, it is just an audio file format, like MP3.
Itunes purchases have not been DRM protected for many years.
Convert the songs to an audio file format that the new phone will play, then follow the directions for the phone to put the music on it.
