Why can't I open a book I purchased on iTunes?

I purchased a book on iTunes. I can see 5 meg is there but I can't open it.
I bought it using my girlfriends account and think that may be causing me problems, but
we have never had any problems purchasing music this way in the past.

Ibooks are for ipad/ipod/iphone. Which device are you trying to read it on?

I am using a laptop, which didn't have a mouse, just a mouse pad, so I added a corded mouse via a USB port, and it does the same thing.

Why can't they put a fully functioning iTunes like they have on an iMac or Pro on an iPad?

For years I used a lot of the more sophisticated programs on my iMac. I no longer have any use for them. Mainly what I do is collect music and store it in iTunes. If I could, I would do away with my old iMac and Pro and just use iPads. However, from what I can tell, the iTunes app on iPad is not like iTunes on a Mac computer. You can't create a wishlist, there is no "My Alerts" or "Just Added" and it doesn't show anywhere near the new material each week as a Mac computer. Plus you can't EQ songs on an iPad the way you can on a Mac. You can apply EQ, but you can't customize the EQ on individual songs as you play them. Am I missing something here, or can someone explain to me why iTunes on a Mac is different than iTunes on an iPad?

iPads are not Macs.
They are supplementary devices with limited storage.
They are not intended to fully replace pcs.

Why can I not see shared applications on iTunes on a Mac but can on Itunes under Windows

1. I have a Mac Laptop, a Windows 7 laptop and an IPAD Air. I have an application on the IPad that shares files.
2. On both the Windows and Mac machines, I have the latest versions of ITunes installed.
3. With Image and IPhoto, I can browse the Documents directory of the shared application on the IPAD.
4. On the Windows Machine, on ITunes, under the Apps section, at the bottom of the screen, I can see the shared application and the shared Documents directory.
5. On my Mac Machine, on Itunes, under the Apps section, at the bottom of the screen, I can NOT see the same shared application on the IPAD that I see on the Windows machine.
6. In the upper right corner of Itunes on the MAC it does show "1 App" but I see no way to click on the app under ITunes and to browse the shared directory on the IPad
Any thoughts on what I have to do to make the Shared App show up on the Mac that shows up on the Windows machine in ITunes?

Did you put your audiobooks on your computer?
They will only be where you put them. You need to copy them from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

My version of GarageBand on my mac is 6.0.5. When I try to open a song I created on my iphone, it tells me that my Mac version of the software can't open the song, and that I need to update. When I check updates, however, it tells me that I have the latest version of the software.

This document needs updating (Last Modified: Oct 4, 2012). It was written before the release of the IOS 7 version of GarageBand.
If you are having the newest GarageBand version on your iPhone, you will need to upgrade to GarageBand 10.0 or later on your Mac to be able to import the projects from your iPhoene.

Why can't I open, update, or uninstall itunes?

I can't open my itunes, I have gone through the support on Apple website, but when I try to uninstall itunes (as it says to do) it gives me an error message. I can't figure it out.

Why can't I open project created in MacBook Pro on Mac Mini?

I mixed a fairly simple project on my MacBook. And I cannot open it on my Mini; L8 freezes and crashes. Is the file too big? Too many plugins? ???? I am completely baffled.
I don't expect an answer, but hey, no harm in trying.

Depends on whether you like doing puzzles or not...
If you do, by all means try to fix it. Try some or all of the following: bypass inserts (either or both); bounce the audio; try the audio alone in Quicktime; check the sample rate & bit depth of the audio file; freeze the track; move the audio to a newly created audio track and delete the old one...
On the other hand, if you're on a schedule, forget it. There are too many bugs in Logic and, even if we could diagnose the problem and fill in Apple's tedious bug form, you won't get it fixed in a month of Sundays. Grab your audio file and put it into a clean track in a new project, add the inserts and bring in the rest of your work.
Sometimes, Apple turns us into their unpaid testers/problem reporting team and, frankly I think we should all be making music.
Of course, your mileage may vary

Have you used another account on your phone for iTunes match, automatic downloads or re-downloading past purchases : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 ? If you have then you will need to wait until the 90 days have completed before you can link it to another account - you could try copying the books from you iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) and see if you can then sync them to your phone

For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
