I just purchased my new macbook pro yesterday and I used the Migrations Assistant to move files from my old mac to this one. What system and iPhoto version are you running and do you have Qjuicktime Player 7 installed. It would be in the Applications or Applications/Utilities folder.

You have JavaScript enabled in all the browsers, yes? Have you tried launch the browsers in Safe Mode?

Why can't I view embedded flash videos on my MacBook Pro?

I can view videos on Youtube and embedded videos on some sites, but when I try to view embedded Flash videos on sites like CNN.com and NBA.com, I just get a black rectangle and nothing loads. I've tried this on all browsers. BTW, I also cannot open up tinted ads that come up in Google searches. I have the latest version of Flash, and I've deleted browsing data and settings and have checked "Allow sites to save info." I've disabled pop-up window blocker. I have no ad blocking software. I've installed the latest Flip4Mac plugin. I have even set up a new user account and tried these sites with that account to see if the problem goes away (it didn't).

I have all the latest browsers and , as I've said above, the latest Flash. I've tried both Java 7 and Java 6. I should also point out that I can access these sites without problem with my office Macbook Pro, which is a 15 inch Core 5, loaded with the same software I have on my problem 12 inch notebook.
Any suggestions?

Documents created on my iPhone or iPad go into iCloud with no problem and I can then access those documents from any of my "toys". However, documents created on my MacBook Pro do not go into iCloud, and as such, they are not accessable from my iPhone or iPad. How can I get the documents created on my MacBook Pro to go into the cloud?

Reset iCloud sync state
On Mac:
Close open applications
Open a Finder window
Choose “Go to Folder…” from the “Go” menu
Enter “~/Library/Application Support/”
Find the folder named “Ubiquity” and move it to the Trash
Restart your computer

You can purchase just Pages using the Mac App Store for $19.99. There are also other word processors available for OS X. For example, Libre Office and Neo Office Aqua are free packages each similar to Office for OS X. These and others can be found at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.

If you have a macbook with internal or USB external Superdrive, insert disk, and an option appears for burning files.
Otherwise drop the movie into a folder and click on the settings button of the folder and choose "burn .......to disk"

Why can't I open an existing project in Final Cut Pro X?

I am new to FCP. There is no "save project" option anywhere. So I assumed it saves my project automatically, since it always reopens. So I went and started another project, assuming the first one was saved. Now I can't find the first project. I spend over 100 hours on it, and now it's gone? Did you look IN the events? If not there and to be certain it exists, try Open Library to see if there is another Library. If you are using 10.1.1, in the finder, in Movies, rt. click on the fcpbundle Library Icon/show contenets/projects. Do not change anything while in there. Perhaps you have more than one library? The projects are in the seperate libraries/events.
Yes it auto saves. You can make a project snap shot to freeze in time and save everything in the project up to that point.

Last night I went to shut down, and was informed that the Mail ap. was blocking shut down, and that I should close Mail and try shutdown again.
But I then found that I could no longer access Mail, though its icon has the little white bar indicating it was already open.

Open Activity Monitor from the Utilities folder or the Spotlight menu. Select the unresponsive app in the Activity monitor window. Choose Quit Process from the View menu, or click the Force Quit button in the toolbar of the Activity Monitor window.

In between the above messages, I've also received the please re-enter your password message, which I do and then I get the same message 30 seconds later. At this point I usually have to do a forced quit to make it go away 8-(
I have had my macbook for two years and mail has worked just fine until this week!!

It sounds like you're trying to connect to a web server, not a mail server. Check with your ISP for the right server address and settings.

Why can't i have the same playlists on my MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPod Touch?? Won't sync as I have them on my computer.

I have a lot of Smart Playlists on iTunes and when I sync my devices the playlists names match, but the content doesn't. Each device has different songs inside the playlists. Not even the number of songs match in most of the playlists. What's the problem??

The most likely reason for that error is that your hard drive is corrupt and thus the download is not getting expanded properly. Restart the computer and hold down command-R as soon as you hear the chime, which will cause your computer to boot into recovery mode. Once there, open Disk Utility and repair the hard drive. If it succeeds, restart normally and try updating again. If it can't repair, you can try a utility like DiskWarrior, but if the damage is that bad the system may be damaged, so you should consider erasing the hard drive and reinstalling everything from scratch.

Why can't I zoom in and out on my MacBook Pro trackpad with my fingers it was working, now I have to use command + or - to zoom in and out? It works fine when I test it with Safarie or Google Crome browsers!

When I try to make a web page larger to view text better, I can no longer use my trackpad to do so. I must do this manually!

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. It just wasn't worth the hassle. I got a good (standard size) monitor for about half the price of the old one, so I'm not too disappointed. Thanks for your help though
