Why can't I open mail on my macbook pro?

An alert box should pop up saying you need Microsoft Silverlight installed. Supposedly, you need to be using Firefox or Safari, but I haven't had issues with Chrome. Here's the download link http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx

  • Why can't I open project created in MacBook Pro on Mac Mini?

I mixed a fairly simple project on my MacBook. And I cannot open it on my Mini; L8 freezes and crashes. Is the file too big? Too many plugins? ???? I am completely baffled.
I don't expect an answer, but hey, no harm in trying.

Depends on whether you like doing puzzles or not...
If you do, by all means try to fix it. Try some or all of the following: bypass inserts (either or both); bounce the audio; try the audio alone in Quicktime; check the sample rate & bit depth of the audio file; freeze the track; move the audio to a newly created audio track and delete the old one...
On the other hand, if you're on a schedule, forget it. There are too many bugs in Logic and, even if we could diagnose the problem and fill in Apple's tedious bug form, you won't get it fixed in a month of Sundays. Grab your audio file and put it into a clean track in a new project, add the inserts and bring in the rest of your work.
Sometimes, Apple turns us into their unpaid testers/problem reporting team and, frankly I think we should all be making music.
Of course, your mileage may vary

  • Why can't I use my mid 2010 macbook pro with 8GB memoir and NVIDIA GEForce GT 330M 256MB to run 3D in photoshop CC?

Why can't I use my mid 2010 macbook pro with 8GB memoir and NVIDIA GEForce GT 330M 256MB to run 3D in photoshop CC?

    3-D is very memory intensive.
    System requirements | Photoshop
    Mac OS
Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
    Mac OS X v10.7, v10.8, or v10.9
2 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
3.2 GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
1024x768 display (1280x800 recommended) with 16-bit color and 512 MB of VRAM (1 GB recommended)**
    OpenGL 2.0–capable system
Internet connection and registration are necessary for required software activation, membership validation, and access to online services.*
** 3D features are disabled and some Mercury Graphics Engine enhanced features may not work with less than 512 MB VRAM. Read the Help article.
Bottom line, you don't have enough VRAM

Do you have the latest Adobe Flash Player installed? If not then go to the Adobe site and download and install it.

  • Why can't I doubleside print in my macbook pro 2011 word program

why can't I doubleside print in my macbook pro 2011 word program
    does anyone know

The easiest way to produce double-sided publications is to print them on a printer that supports duplex printing. You can usually learn whether your printer supports duplex printing either by looking at the information that was included with the printer or by looking at the printer's properties. Some printers offer the option of automatically printing on both sides of a sheet of paper (automatic duplex printing). Other printers provide instructions so that you can manually reinsert pages to print the second side (manual duplex printing). Some printers do not offer duplex printing at all. If your printer doesn't offer automatic duplex printing, you can follow these steps to manually print on both sides of the paper. On the File menu, click Print. On the Printer pop-up menu, select the printer that you want. On the Copies & Pages pop-up menu, click Microsoft Word. Click Odd pages only. After the odd pages are printed, flip the stack of pages over, reinsert the stack into the printer, repeat steps 1 through 3, and then click Even pages only. Depending on the printer model, you might have to rotate and reorder the pages to print the other side of the stack

  • This is the same question I've asked 3x in 24 hours, but it doesn't appear in the listing. Maybe I need help in phrasing questions?:)Q. why can I play some DVDs on my MacBook Pro but not on desk top Apple (they're both -1 year olds

    Hi
This'll be my third attempt in 24 hrs to ask the same question. maybe I need guidance on phrasing questions?:)
    Q. Why can I always play DVDs on my MacBook Pro but not always on my desk top Apple. They're both less than  year old. The desk top sometimes displays a message that says I have to change regions (from Australia to South America...doh...)

    Region Code 4:
Mexico, Central and South America, and the South Pacific.
Includes Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Falkland Islands, French Guiana, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, New Guinea, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela
Apparently my first response was off in left field.  The DVD player has its own code.  My recommendation is to change the code when it asks.  It is possible that the disks that play correctly are region-free and the ones that don't have a region code.  If this does not work, you still have four more changes available; you won't be stuck with the new code.

  • TS3276 Why can't I open Mail anymore?

I was using mail and suddenly it seemed to freeze. I was sending 3 different emails and it did not register in sent mail. Next thing I know I get the following every time I try to open mail: Mail can’t open because you don’t have the necessary permissions to change the folder where it saves information. I have followed all the directions (Mail stores information in Macintosh HD:Users:jackiefritsch:Library:Mail. If this folder is on your computer, use the Get Info panel in the Finder to change your permissions for this folder to “Read & Write.”) and found that it already says "Read & Write". I tried to reset it, I have tried everything I can think of please help, I have lots of important emails and photos that I can not access.
I am on a Mac OS X10.5.8 but it does not let me choose that community.

    Hello,
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
Is this a POP or IMAP account?

  • Why can't I open Mail?

When I try to open Mail, it just keeps cranking. When I check Activity, I get these four items showing: "Fetching new mail", "Synchronizing with server", "Changing Flags", and Communicating with server." Usually the bars are not moving but sometimes they will show activity. I've tried stopping them but no change. I've stopped them, closed Mail and tried again but with no result. Any ideas?

    Hi there,
Try deleting preferences files. Using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist. Delete the com.apple.mail.plist file and empty the Trash. (You can open the Library folder by holding the alt/option key, clicking Go in the finder menu bar, and clicking Library).
After this, you may need to re-enter account details.
Let me know if this helps,
    Nathan

  • Can't get iCloud mail on my MacBook Pro. I used to, but not now.

I have been traveling, and using all sorts of servers to get my mail through the mail program on my MacBook Pro (Blue stamp icon). But now I am home, and the problem that started while over the road is continuing.
Under iCloud, the mail icon is checked. Under accounts, the only place blank is the IMAP Path Prefix. Port is 143, and SSL is checked. Authentication is Apple Token.  Checked are also "include when automatically checking for new messages" and "compact mailboxes automatically"
Any help to get my mail up and running again?
    Thanks in advance.

You're going to have to give us more info than "I can't get net flix to work."
What have you done to try to get it to work?
    Have you installed Silverlight?
Have you activated you Mac with NetFlix?
How are you accessing NetFlix? (Browser, Boxee....)
    Exactly what is happening?

  • Can I use iOS4 Mail App on MacBook Pro or the MacOSX 1.6 Snow Leopard OS

Is there any way to use use the iOS mail application on a MacBook Pro?  My company does not support MAC Outlook 2011 but I can get my exchange email on my iPad and iPhone.

    larry.bruner@me wrote:
Unfortunatley, I beleive my company will not allow it.  I have followed the instructions step-by-step several times and have not been able to get it to work.  Due to spaming, my company has an auto-redirect for OWA access.  I'm not sure I can use IMAP.  I may just be stuck using my iPad and iPhone for all company emails while not at the office.  Great, mobile platform capatility, I wish OSX could duplicate.
I sympathize but your employer is back in the dark age, even Microsoft are ending support for E2003, have pride that you may lead them into the modern age.

  • Why can't I access app store on macbook pro?

I recently re-installed Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro, and now when I click software update, I am being told I can't access the App Store because I don't have an Internet connection.  How can I fix this?

    Hi russraman,
I've been having that issue off and on lately, but I'm certain it's my cable provider and not my Mac. You probably see the Wifi indicator with an "!" in the middle of it? It means that the Wifi was able to get onto the network, but not to make an internet connection because of a bad IP address.
So, to resolve my issue, I have to reboot my router. Give that a try to see if it clears it up for you.
    Cheers,
