Why can't I open my Adobe account in Firefox?

I started this question a few days ago and received a response indicating a corrupt cache could cause the problem. I cleaned the cache but that didn't fix the problem. I can open the Adobe account in both Google Chrome and IE. Any other suggestions?
Also, is there some way I can find a question posted earlier on this forum? Isn't there a format for listing the questions in order of date or whatever so they can be easily found a day or two later? It would be great, also, to just be able to log into the forum without having to go through that front-end question routine.
I'm probably missing something, but aren't help forums supposed to be helpful, not more frustrating than the original problem.
Thanks,
BAB

Have you tried safe mode? It may be a addon affecting this.

I have Windows 7 and the latest Firefox version. I used to be able to do so.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
''Note: Assuming you sign in through accounts.google.com, the following refers to google.com.''
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Why can't open a pdf file sent to me marked adobe acrobat document 1.xls ?

Mylenium is correct you will want to look at utilizing a program which lets you open Microsoft Office spreadsheets.  This is not something that Adobe currently offers.

My bank emailed me an important adobe file as a zip and I keep getting an error message not an adobe format or not encoded properly.  How do I open the zip file?

    Hi ferretlady,
As you mentioned that you have zip file that contains Adobe files, you need to unzip the file first and then you will be able to open the Adobe files. For information on how to unzip, please refer to the links below:

  • Why can't I access my adsense account from Firefox?

My website is on Firefox. It's getting ads on it from adsense, but I can't access the adsense account from Firefox. I can only get there from Explorer or Chrome. I'm also making almost no money, 87 cents, in several months. I feel that the adsense and the website are not coordinating. Could anyone give me some insight into this. I've spent hours and tried everything I know to work out the situation. Please help. Thanks. Mary Ann

hello mary ann, can you describe in a bit more detail what happens when you try to access the account in firefox (do you receive any error messages or does anything in particular not work?)
regarding the amount of money the adsense account is generating, we cannot help with that since this is a third-party service - you'd have to contact google's support about this issue.

  • Why can't I open the adobe digital editions installer?

I've downloaded the installer, but when I click to run it, it won't open.  I click and nothing happens.

    oneexwidow,
Thank you so much!!!  I tried what you said, and it worked perfectly!  I can't believe you found the answer and Adobe tech support doesn't know about this!  I think they should be aware of this issue.  I remember that file-blocking "feature" being there when looking at file properties before, but I'd forgotten about it and never thought to look there.  I've downloaded maybe hundreds of files and I don't remember having this problem before.  I knew *something* was blocking the file from running though, and I never really bought that it wasn't Vista compatible.  After all, this is the latest version and Vista is old now, since Windows 7 and now 8 have come out.  And as I mentioned, I tried it on my mom's XP computer, and it didn't run on hers either.   I'm not sure when Microsoft introduced the security feature shown above.  I hope that everyone who has this problem can find this thread so they know what to do as well.  I think Adobe should put this on the download page so everyone can see it if they have problems.
    Thanks again for sharing!

Why can't I open a pdf file on my desktop?  I have Adobe Reader and running OS 10.10.1  I keep getting the same message: "Adobe Reader could not open '8pdk_96_4.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

Why do I need to open an Adobe account in order to open attachments?

The message: "Adobe Reader could not open {file name here} because it is either not a supported file or because the file wasn't correctly decoded" appears whenever I try to open a downloaded file. Then I get information on how to open an Adobe account for $7 or $8 bucks a month. This annoying disruption on service only occured sence I installed an Epson printer. They deny any knowlage of working with or association with Adobe. However my computer is severly effected by the recent installation.

  • Why can't I open pdf files allthough having adobe reader 9 preinstalled on my new windows 7 laptop?

    Hi!
I think my question might be simple to answer, so please if you read this give it a try...
I just bought a new laptop with windows 7 on it. Adobe Reader 9 was allready installed. I wanted to open simple pdf files, but I got the message "Adobe Reader ?" in an empty field that pops up.
Why can't I open pdf files? Do I also need to install the Adobe Flash Player as well?
I would be very glad if you could give me a hint.
    Thanx

It appears as if Adobe Reader is not correctly installed.  Try installing the latest version 9.2 from http://get.adobe.com/reader/ - make sure that you uncheck any unwanted software bundled with the download.
P.S.  no, you don't need Flash Player to open PDF files.

  • Why can't I open PDF files created in Adobe X using Adobe XI? How do I fix this?

Why can't I open PDF files created using Adobe X in Adobe XI?

I try and open them in Reader (double left click on the file) and all I get is a single screen with two overlapping frames neither of which have anything to do with the subject although the presentation title is at the top.  One of the frames had "Adobemail.com" on it. Our work computers were recently up-graded to Adobe XI and this was the first time I tried to open a presentation that has worked fine in the past.  I would have thought that Adobe XI would have been backward  compatible, but it doesn't seem so. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have an 08:00 First-Aid class tomorrow and need this presentation.  Apparently Adobe forums are off-line for up-grades.  Thanks

  • Why can't I open PDFs anymore and Adobe Reader won't install.

Why can't I open PDFs anymore and Adobe Reader won't install? This happens only in Safari. I have tried changing my security preferences but it doesn't help.

    missyzz,
which version of OS X is installed on your Mac, and which version of Adobe Reader do you have installed? Did you ensure that all of your browsers were not running when you’d installed Adobe Reader?
To use Preview to open PDFs, download the PDFs to your Mac, and then use Preview to open the PDFs locally. Since you can open PDFs in Firefox, it sounds like you don’t need the Preview workaround.

  • Why can't I open a document in Adobe Reader?

Why can't I open a document in Adobe Reader?

I have been having the same issue since January. Oddly, I can read the docs that I scan as pdf on my iPad but not on my Mac or PC. I receive the following message:
"Adobe Reader could not open '_____.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."
It doesn't matter if I use Safari, Chrome, etc.
I have the most up to date Adobe products.

  • Why can't I open pdf's after install of adobe reader? Should I see it in system preferences?

Why can't I open pdf's after install of adobe reader? Should I see it in system preferences?

There are can be reasons PDFs cannot be opened. For example, some forms created with Lifecycle Designer cannot be opened.
Are you sure the file is a PDF? Can you open it in Adobe Reader or Acrobat on a Mac or PC? Does it give an error message when you try to open it?
