Why can't I open my sim card area?
I got my iphone for christmas today (iphone 5) and it didn't come with a little pin to open my sim card area... any ideas????

Just got an ipad air, ordered from Apple online store, can't open the SIm card slot - comes with a special tool, but is it meant to be springloaded and just pop out? I think it is faulty.

Yes if its a one time problem one should visit the local store but since one might need it again and its a universal tool for all iphones and ipads so it might come handy some day or the other.

I bought unlocked iphone 6 in one store in UAE dubai. When i open the sim card slot there is an verizon simcard inside. I'm just a little bit worried if the iphone i have now is a second hand or what. Any idea? Thanks.
It's A1549 model. Yeah i knew this is US version before i buy this. What i'm confusing now do u think this iphone i bought is a brand new one and why there is a sim card already inside the simcard slot? Even its working smoothly using a network in UAE. Some of my friends bought there US version of iphone but they bought it without simcard inside the sim card slot.

You must get an unlocked phone from Apple. You will not have access to 4G or LTE systems. Your warranty will only be valid in Canada. You will have to pay any import or duty fees. Why not buy a phone in Britain?

If you want to use the 3G cellular data service - you need a sim card. If you just plan on using WiFi, then it doesn't matter.
The 3G cellular service allows you to connect the iPad to the internet in areas where WiFi is not available. You do not have to install the sim card in order to use the iPad as long as you just use WiFi. You can always purchase the service later if you don't want it right now. -
I have an older I-Phone (3G) that for some reason the body of the phone has split in two. This phone was a business phone and it had a lot of important information on it. I have a second phone that is also a 3G. On the broken phone there is a lot of important information that I need in my calendar. Im not worried about anything else but the calendar. I didn't have the Mobile Me account at that time or I would be having this problem. Does anybody know if I can ust switch out the sim cards. I just need to recover the old calendar, so im hoping that the calendar will transfer when I switch the sim card into the good 3G. If that doesn't work does anybody know of anyway that I can retrieve this information off of this phone?
Nothing is stored on the sim card on an iPhone. If you backed up to your computer the backup will contain your calendar events. Otherwise, if your phone isn't functioning there is no way to back up or extract your calendar at this point.

Why can't we use iTunes gift cards with family sharing? After Christmas, we now have lots of account credit we can't use. Very frustrating. There is no option found for using account credit.
I just logged out of my daughter's account and back in, and now it works. Deducted from gift card account balance. So I hope this is resolved.

I have just started working on a project in Final Cut Express - I render, save, and close out of FCE - but, when I go back to FCE, the project I was working on does not open.
Why can't I open a project file that I have saved?
Here was my process in a nutshell:
~ When I opened FCE, I went the System Preferences and set the Scratch Disks to a folder on my external hard drive.
~Then, I went to File - New Project - worked on the project for a while (including creating bins, importing images and video, and creating a sequence.
~I saved the project file to the same folder that I set my Scratch Disks to.
as often throughout this process.)
~When I was done, I saved again andd closed FCE.
~Then, soon after, I opened FCE again and my project did not open automatically.
~So, I clicked File - Open Recent - browsed to and chose the project file name and FCE gave me a "Unable to open file" message.
~When I check to see if the project file actually saved to my external hard drive, the name appears, but it says the file size is ZERO kb.
I have done this twice with the same unfortunate result. What am I doing wrong? I have worked on FCE on this same computer before, setting the Scratch Disks the same way, and I did not have this problem.

...RaeAre you sure you are trying to open the project file you actually saved ?
Try using Spotlight to search for your project file name. I might be wrong, but I guess you try to open an empty copy while your real project file (what you saved) is somewhere else in either your startup disk (Documents folder ?) or the external drive. If so do not use Open Recent in FCE but simply double click the "real" project file.

Since I installed the last version of OS X on my Ipad, I could not open a lot of documents on my Mac. I thought this problem would be solved when I would install Yosemite on my mac but this is not the case.
Why are so many documents in grey and why can't I open these documents on my mac with yosemite ?Tell your friend to go to bit.ly to create a 'short URL' for that address.
They can send you that & you shouldn't have to worry about the SMS or any other messaging size limitations.

Why can't TextEdit open more than 5 links at a time in Yosemite? In the previous OS, I could highlight many links at a time, right click and then select "Open URL" to open the links in Safari. Now, if I select more than five links at a time (and sometimes with five links) it will only open the first five and TextEdit pops up with the alert, "The 'Open URL' service could not be used."
I'm running 10.10.1 on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009), 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, 500 GB HD.
TextEdit is Version 1.10 (319).Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
