Why can't I open Premiere projects with Premiere?

For some reason .prproj files were defaulted to opening with adobe acrobat. I've tried to the change the default application but none of the options are Premiere, programs like utorrent, photoshop, and dreamweaver show up but not premiere. When I click browse and choose the Premiere executable file from the premiere folder in program files nothing changes, it still opens with one of the default programs.
Can I change this? It's not a huge problem because I can open premiere and then browse to the project but it's pretty annoying and it would be convinient if I could just double click the project file and open it.

I reinstalled the Premiere Elements 10 portion of the (bundled) program but never installed Photoshop Elements 10, and am currently continuing to run PS Elements 8. Am I correct in reading that you have never been able to open your Premiere Elements 10 running on Windows 7 64 bit? If so, we can rule out problems with the source media and damaged projects and concentrate on the installation and system requirements.
You write that you have attempted uninstall reinstall of Premiere Elements 10. Is that correct?.
Adobe also has a Tech Note directed at troubleshooting Premiere Elements installation issues, including how to install if your installation disc might be damaged.

What problem are you facing in opening the document? Is there any error message?
I would recommend you to try again and as passwords are case sensitive so please make sure that you type the password in exactly same case sequence as you did when you set the password.

Why can't I open Garageband projects?

Ever since getting my new Macbook Pro, I've had problems opening Garageband projects. I don't know if this is a permissions issue, something funky with the account that I migrated from my old Macbook or what. I can't even create a new project without getting the error message "The file couldn't be opened."

Okay, I fumbled around and fixed it. I had previously gone into system preferences/ file sharing and changed all user accounts to everyone read and write. That didn't help. I just went in to the hard drive and right clicked my user folder, clicked get info and changed the setting to everyone read and write. Then I went into applications directly on the hard drive, clicked on GarageBand and did the same thing. Now my projects are opening. I'm not sure which one fixed it but it's working. I hope this helps anyone else having this problem.

When am i not able to open the PDF with the Adobe Reader X, and also not able to choose it as programm for opening of the PDF. (Right click and "open program with", it's not possible to choose Reader, when i try nothing happens and it's not added to the program list)

As of July 29 I can no longer open Yahoo mail in Safari. It keeps asking for user name and password, but when I enter it the same screen keeps coming up.

Clear Safari, then close it completely and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data.
Now close Safari. In order to close apps in iOS 7, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Why can't I open captivate projects on different pcs?

I I have created a project using Adobe Captivate 4 trial version on my home PC (Wondows XP) and published it as html, zip and pdf - all works fine on the home pc but won't open on my work pc, which is also using Adobe Capt. 4, (full licenced version) and Windows XP. I get no error messages when opening the published files, just blank screens. When I try to open the saved project howeveer, I get the error messages attached. Forums 101: If you want us to actually see images, never Never NEVER attach them. Instead, use the camera icon to insert them.
As for the output files not opening on other PCs, were you certain that you copied ALL the files? Normally there are at least a SWF, HTM and JS file to copy. Depending on what you did with the project, there may be additional files to include.
As for the other machine, are you certain you are using the same Captivate version? You cannot open a CP4 file if you have CP3. Additionally, where is the project located? Local drive or network? If on the network, try moving the file to local drive.

After importing a video on imovie (11), when I pressed play it wouldn't show anything but there would be sound. I went back to my projects and it wouldn't let me click on any of them to edit, except from the empty ones. How do I fix this problem?

• corrupted iMovie preference file - trash it when iMovie is not running
• use of strange video formats (codecs) or photo file formats or audio file formats - use what iMovie can use.

Why can't I open Photoshop CS5 with OSX Mavericks?

I download OSX9 the other day and I have found that some programs do not open. Today it is Photoshop CS5. Is there a trick to get it open besides an upgrade to CS5, which apparently is not currently available!

Today I just upgrade to Mavericks and have the same problem. Even the same system (mavericks) pop up a window tell me to download the java run time upgrade ...I canceled by mistake ...and when I click the Photoshop icon ...the same window pop up
After I install the java upgrade ...they opened just fine, all the CS5 ...even the CS3 ...just in case, give it one more shot. maybe it will work.

I have just started working on a project in Final Cut Express - I render, save, and close out of FCE - but, when I go back to FCE, the project I was working on does not open.
Why can't I open a project file that I have saved?
Here was my process in a nutshell:
~ When I opened FCE, I went the System Preferences and set the Scratch Disks to a folder on my external hard drive.
~Then, I went to File - New Project - worked on the project for a while (including creating bins, importing images and video, and creating a sequence.
~I saved the project file to the same folder that I set my Scratch Disks to.

~When I was done, I saved again andd closed FCE.
~Then, soon after, I opened FCE again and my project did not open automatically.
~So, I clicked File - Open Recent - browsed to and chose the project file name and FCE gave me a "Unable to open file" message.
~When I check to see if the project file actually saved to my external hard drive, the name appears, but it says the file size is ZERO kb.
I have done this twice with the same unfortunate result. What am I doing wrong? I have worked on FCE on this same computer before, setting the Scratch Disks the same way, and I did not have this problem.

Are you sure you are trying to open the project file you actually saved ?
Try using Spotlight to search for your project file name. I might be wrong, but I guess you try to open an empty copy while your real project file (what you saved) is somewhere else in either your startup disk (Documents folder ?) or the external drive. If so do not use Open Recent in FCE but simply double click the "real" project file.
