Why can't I organize my music on my iPhone?

On my desktop, my iTunes playlists can be organized by song, artist, album, etc.  I know that some time ago sorted my playlist by date added and now I want to change it to artist but it's not appearing on my phone that way.  Also, I've deleted some songs from my desktop playlist but they're still on my phone's playlist.
Any ideas?

is it whenever you click on it, it doesnt play?
If so, swipe to the right on each song to delete them, and then re-download it on itunes by going to the purchased and downloading selected songs

  • Why can't i sync my music to my iphone?

everytime i sync my iphone to my computer, it resets my contacts and notes. i also can't sync music to my iphone and i dont know why, please help!

I have no idea what you're doing then.
I believe I have two songs from the iTunes store, both free. Everything else is either from my own CDs or is digital music from other sources, including retailers such as Amazon. I have no problem getting that music onto my iPod. Nor do I use iTunes Match.

It only syncs (through USB) the songs that I had previously bought off of iTunes.
I'm not sure what you mean by "through USB".
    The process is:
Import the music from CD into your iTunes Library.
Add digital music (from non-Apple sources) to your Library
    Sync iPod/iPhone with iTunes.
    Job done
So what are you doing? Can we assume that you have the music in your iTunes Library? If so, what do you do now?

  • Why can I not manually drag music to my Iphone 4?

Ok, so just to clarify I only manage on one computer with my Iphone which is my laptop. Manage music and videos is already clicked. I can't drag a single song to my Iphone. I don't know why its acting this way. I can't tell you how many times I had restored the crap of my Iphone these past 3 days. Nothing works that I have come up with. So if someone can help me, it would be appreciated.

Make sure you meet the following requirements:
iPod shuffle and iPhone are intended for use with a single computer. You cannot load music from multiple computers or iTunes libraries onto iPod shuffle and iPhone like you can with other devices.
To drag and drop files, make sure "Manually manage Music and videos box is checked

  • Why can't I back up music from my iPhone or iPod to my iTunes?

Happy with my iPhone 4s so far, no battery issue's and an excellent phone but there is one thing I dislike with a passion.
I own more than one computer, I have desktops, laptops and netbooks and I have music I have purchased or recorded from vinyl or backed up from CD on different machines. I want to place this music and videos onto my iPhone to enjoy but when I try to get iTunes to sync it tells me it will delete the music currently on my iPhone for the new playlist? This is ********!
For example if I were to go through the lengthy process of backing up all of my music from my various computers and collections to only one PC and then making a huge playlist just for my iPhone, then my main PC breaks and dies, my only option would be to either never add more music to my iPhone or lose all of the music on my iPhone? And please don't come back with purchases from iTunes will be available, my music collection and everybody else's is much greater than an iTunes collection.
This is the dumbest feature of the iPhone in my opinion and makes functionality a pain.
Is there a work around for this problem? or do you just have to accept you lose everything in the event of a stolen computer or hard disk failure?

Put all your music in one computer liberary, network the computers to use this shared resource so that you can add and remove music from any computer on your network. You are then saving space across all your computers and will be able to keep your music archive well organized.
Back up your music on an external hard drive, USB drive, backup drive or cloud storage just like you would anything else you don't want to lose. Having the music on various computers isn't more safe than having it on one computer. If you have it on one computer and it crashes you lose everything its true, but if you have it on multiple computers you will only lose part of your library but the chances of something going wrong are now upped because you're working with 4 computers. Its good to back everything up anyways.
Sync phone with one computer that has all the networked music in its library. Live long, prosper, grow in the force, etc.

  • Why can't I sync iTunes music on my iPhone 5?

Recently, music has stopped syncing beween my iPhone and iTunes on my Mac. There are two playlists on my iPhone 5 that seem stuck there. Any iTunes sync to change playlists does nothing at all. I have tried deleting the 2 playlists directly from the iPhone, then syncing with iTunes, but the sync simply replaces those two unwanted playlists back on the iPhone, even though they are not checked to sync in iTunes on my Mac. The playlists I wish to transfer do not sync, while the unwanted ones on the iPhone can't be deleted.
I'm running the latest version of everything. Please help!

Contact whomever supports the sling player and ask them.

  • Why can't I move new music to my iphone?

I have an iPhone 4s.  Last night I tried to load some new music onto my phone from the iTunes library on my iMac but was unable to do so.  I couldn't get the new stuff to synch.  Also, there is a lot of music on my phone that I would like to remove, but I can't do that either.  Anybody have any idea what the problem is?

For the faded tracks right mouse click on them and select Check Selection.

  • HT1473 Why can't I transfer my music from  my iphone to my iMac mini? Or vice versa?

I have two Apple products, the Mac Mini and an Iphone.  But, I can't transfer the music from my mac mini to my iphone (and vice versa) using ITunes, without losing my songs on my iphone.  I really want to add the new songs on my Mac mini to my iphone (I used to sync to a PC that doesn't work anymore).  Can anyone hlep me figure out what to do?

So heres the problem, once you sync your iphone with a computer it only lets you get music from that computer and vice versa for security reasons. Otherwise, you could just download music from everyone's computers and no one would even have a reason to buy music anymore, causing huge problems for the music industry. If you bought all of your songs from Itunes though, you can download those to your mac mini and then resync your Iphone with that pretty simply. If you need help with that, just comment, and we should be able to help you.:)

  • Why can't I simply drag music from my external hard drive to my ipod classic?

Why can't I simply drag music from my external hard drive to my ipod classic using my mac?

So after I get my music put on my computer, then moved to my ipod, do I have to delete music from itunes  to free up space?
    Not a good idea.
What you could do, is have the Library content on the external hard drive and simply tell your iTunes programme to look on the hard drive for your music etc.. However, once you set that up, that hard drive needs to be connected and ready to read, before you start the iTunes programme. If it isn't ready, iTunes will simply go back to the default location for the music, find nothing and then you'll be back here saying that you've lost your Library.

  • Why can't I access my music after updating to iOS 5?

why can't I access my music after updating to iOS 5?

Same problem here. After installing iOS 5, restoring, and syncing... when I clicked on the music icon on my iPad, none of my songs were there. All I saw was "download music from iTunes store." But, on iTunes, when I clicked on my iPad icon (then Music), it showed that all of my songs were synced!
So, this is what worked for me, I rebooted my iPad.
I turned off my iPad by holding down the sleep button for about 5 seconds, then the "Slide to power off" came up, and I powered off my iPad.
Then, I started it up again, and clicked on the music icon on my iPad, and now all of my synced music showed up.
I hope this helps some of you guys out there.
