Why can't I paste HTML into target container of widget?

I cannot paste the HTML code into the target container of the lightbox widget. After making sure I have selected the image frame, i delete the placeholder image ( ridged leaf ) by pressing Delete ( Mac ). I reselect the inner container and choose Object>insert HTML but it always places it outside the widget! I have succesfully done this in the past, but with the latest version it is impossible. It's driving me nuts!!!

After the HTML object is inserted into the page, you can drag it into the target.

Why can I sometimes paste copied text (from another VI's revision history, for instance or from anywhere else) into a revision history dialog box and other times cannot? All versions of LabVIEW! It's something like the control key becomes diabled. I've noticed the same thing when saving many VI's at once, some will let you paste into revision history and others will not. Aren't all VI's created equally when it comes to revision history? All versions of LabVIEW since 3 have plagued me with this problem.

If you'd like to add text to the revision history of a VI, you can
paste into the Comment box and add all of your text at once. The
history itself can be read from this window, but cannot be directly
edited. The History field is read-only in the dialog box.

I've seen some weird (temporary) cases, for example when ctrl+v suddenly did not work, but "right-click..paste" was still working. Also, when I was pasting the comment here, notice that the last line containing the date (i.e. the line containing May 27, 2011) moved to the top of the quote, while it was at the botton in the original location (probably soem extra html got dragged along, I have not investigated).
(This was in Chrome.)

Adobe CC 2014 can't paste HTML into lightbox container

In the latest update of Muse CC 2014, I am suddenly unable to paste any HTML into a lightbox container. Every time I paste it, it simply adds the HTML as a separate layer on the page. Anyone else having this issue? I've used lightboxes in the past for videos & other HTML objects and have never had an issue. Thanks!

I believe you are using LightBox Widget listed under Slideshows However you Should be using "LightBox Display" listed under "Compositions" for the same purpose.
Here also another location to find it in Muse:
Object > Insert Widget > Compositions> LightBox Display

I have taken a screenshot using Apple + Shift + 4 and then selected an area. I hear the camera shutter. But when I go into Photoshop and open a new file, I cannot paste into it. The Paste command is greyed out.

Because command-shift-4 doesn't copy to the clipboard. Command-control-shift-4 is what you're looking for.

Why can one spot colour convert into two different sets of CMYK values?

Working within Illustrator CC, I have an EPS file of a logo which has a colour fill value of:
Pantone 152 U
CMYK: 0C 51M 100Y 1K
When I copy and paste this into a new document I get a much duller colour (orange) with colour values of:
Pantone 152 U
CMYK: 2C 57M 83Y 2K
I have enabled 'ask when opening' & 'ask when pasting' for Profile Mismatches in Edit->Color Settings->'Color Management Policies' - no warning shows up.
I have also tried turning off, changing color management policies.
I've opened the original eps file and assigned my working space profile (Coated FOGRA39) and then try copy and pasting without success.
Help!

Using Pantone 512U (uncoated) isn't correct for Coated Fogra.

Assumed, the one spot color is uniquely defined by one Lab set:
– the CMYK spaces are different
– the CMYK spaces are the same but the Rendering Intents are different
– the CMYK spaces are the same but the Black Point Compensations are different
(on or off for Relative Colorimetric).
Assumed, the spot colors are equal by name, but valid for different versions, both in Lab:
– this obviousl at present the most common source of deviations.
Assumed, the spot colors are defined by CMYK:
– a chaotic situation which I wouldn't even like to dicuss.
– CMYK to CMYK conversions should be avoided under all circumstances.
The solutions:
If the spot color will be printed always and everywhere by Pantone spot ink:
– purchase an actual Pantone color fan und discuss with the printer the mixture for the selected ink.
If the Pantone color is merely a design feature, but the doc will be printed by CMYK:
– choose such a color and verify by soft proofing that the color is in-gamut for common CMYK spaces.
– read the Lab values and proceed as far as possible using Lab.
– don't use ink names, don't use any reference to Pantone.
– convert into to a specificic CMYK space in advance to the generation of the specific PDF.

Why can't I paste an email address

that I've copied using my mouse from another email to the To, CC or BCC fields? I've found that it works if I use the mouse to copy it but I have to paste it using the keyboard (control v).

Apple has whole departments that enforce the uniformity of User Experience across the way Applications work. So it was puzzling to me at first why these should behave differently from, say Cut and Paste in a Word Processor.
On closer examination, you generally are not selecting and cutting the middle six letters, or pasting with an insertion point into the middle of a field of letters. You are instead manipulating these email Addresses as "objects", and the drag-and-drop metaphor can be used to duplicate and re-use them.
If you were to instead take only the firstname out of an Address (which is difficult, as mail wants to select the email Address as an "object" in its entirety), and paste it into the middle of a different field that is actually text, I think the right-click options should work as you expected.
No offense taken. This forum format does not lend itself to subtlety in expression.

I have Mozilla fire fox windows 8 . whenever I open a .html file it opens the home page instead the file. then I have to go to file then open file then pen the file . it is very tideous. why can't I open the file just by double clicking it?

Aperture 3 why can't i drag projects into folder

Hi. Im using aperture 3.4.3 and I can't i drag projects into folder. Why is this? Help!

Projects can only go into folders that are not under other projects. So for example
Library
     folder
          project
is OK
but
Library
     project
          folder
               project
Is not OK (the last project won;t go)
So if you create a folder at the top level can you drag a project into it?

Why can't I import songs into my iTunes?

Accidentally deleted all of my music for iTunes and stupidily emptied the trash but whatever, that's why Time Machine is great.
Simply put, got ALL my songs back from Time Machine and yet, iTunes seems to ignore anything I ask it to do. Can't drag and drop, can't "Add to library" (Command+O). No dialog box comes up or anything. Tried moving full folders and single song files and nothing happens whatsoever. Tried googling this, and everything is for Windows. I don't use my Mac all to often but my music is a must. I need my metal.

Any ideas? Because this is weird. I've already been complaining that you can't simply drag and drop crap into an iPhone and now THIS? What's wrong with Apple? Yes, it was all there, but as I said. iTunes acts like it isn't, and we're talking about thousands upon thousands of songs sitting in their respective folders.
I had talked to my brother in law and he did mention something about iTunes having it's custom file that saves the information for everything it has into one, and to find that one if possible. But how can I locate it if using Time Machine to restore all of my music did nothing? I restored any iTunes related (all in one folder honestly), so what's the deal?
Sorry for the very late reply, this is still a very concerning issue that needs to be desperately resolved, I have just been very busy.

Why can't I open html documents in Pages 3.0 but could in v2.0.2?

We used Pages v2.0.2 to open html exam documents to reformat the exams before sending to the printer. We recently upgraded to Pages 3.0 via iWorks '08, and we can no longer open html documents. Does anyone know if this is just an oversight in Pages 3.0 and will be fixed in future updates or has Apple intentionally abandoned html support in Pages?
We need to find a workable solution. We prepare exams for 1000s of students each semester.

Pages 3.0 (that is iWork '08) doesn't have an HTML entry in the CFBundleDocumentTypes of it's Info.plist file. Pages 1.x and 2.x both DO have an HTML entry in their Info.plist files. Thus Pages 3 won't open HTML while Pages 1 and 2 both will.
So the questions are:
Why did Apple remove HTML as a file type for Pages v3.0? Was it a mistake? Was it intentional? Will it come back in a quick update to Pages?
And then again for you Allan Eckert:
How are you able to open HTML documents in Pages v3.0? By rights, any ".html" file shouldn't be openable in Pages v3.

Why can I not paste from my clipboard?

Let me say first that I do know what I am going. So here is my problem:
I select text.
I choose copy, of do Command-C.
I move the cursor somewhere else, and I paste the text.
Nothing happens.
I am using a MacBook Air (13''), with newest version of Lion.
Any suggestions?

Why can I not embed html video into a Muse slideshow widget?

I have an existing slideshow widget in place and when I upload html video (click on image in slideshow, object, insert html) it puts the video in a seperate box un-linked to the slideshow. I can get the video in with a composition widget, but I need to use a slideshow widget. Site is here:Main_Mltipages and the video needs to be added to the main slideshow.

You can not insert Embedded codes in Slideshow widgets.
If you want to replace images with embedded HTML video , please use Presentation Composition and place them in Target.
You can find it from Object > Insert Widget > Composition > Presentation
