I bought a song over my Mac from iTunes. I would like to transfer this to my iPhone 4 but nothing happens. Has
This something to do with iCloud or how many devices I have registered. Thanks in advance.

If you don't have automatic downloads enabled, you need to sync the song to your iPhone.

If only one track on an album is giving you that message, that suggests that the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Why can i not play a song from icloud?

I uploaded a song (not a commercial song - one a friend had performed) to itunes last year, and it worked well. I uploaded it to icloud and then bought a macbook pro. I did not transfer the itunes files from my old computer to my new computer. I just went to play the song (actually, the album) and while it appears in icloud on my iphone and my itunes library on my macbook, I cannot download it. It's not grey - it just won't download or play. Any ideas what to do? Had my song been lost in the icloud?

Why can't I move a song from my iPhone (bought in the iTunes Store) to my PC?

Right, so - I hear a song I like, start up iTunes on my new iPhone 4S, and download it from the store. No problem. Then I get home, connect my phone to my PC and... find that iTunes will not, under any circumstances, allow me to move my newly-purchased song to my hard-drive. I can find the song just fine, under 'Devices', so it's not like iTunes doesn't know it exists. My PC is registered as a 'legal shared platform' or whatever you call it, so there shouldn't be any problems with the DRM.
I even started up my iTune Store Account via the iTunes on my PC, and found the song again. Sure enough, it still remembers that I've bought it. But there's no option to re-download it. And the program simply refuses to move the file from my phone to my hard-drive in any way. Drag-and-drop just gives an 'Ø' sign, copy-and-paste does nothing. I can get iTunes to PLAY the song just fine, but only from my phone.
...the really strange thing is that LAST time I bought a song from the iTunes Store, on my phone, iTunes AUTOMATICALLY downloaded it to my hard-drive as soon as I plugged in my phone. No interaction needed on my part. And now it won't do it no matter how much I ask. Temperamental system...
EDIT: Managed to get it transfered by selecting 'Transfer Purchases' from the right-click menu of the iPhone-icon in iTunes... but I still don't understand why the song refused to sync normally or be moved manually. Meh.

You cannot mve the songs manually from iphone to your computer.
The way you do this is exactly what you did : File>Transfer Purchases

I just updated to iOS 6 and I use the cloud storage system. Upon updating to the new OS, I can no longer delete the songs I do not want from my iphone. Why is this?

Go to the place on the left where it shows your phone is plugged in. Click on the arrow ro the left, and a drop down menu comes up that lists all your music (like before the new OS5). Select what you don't want, click on delete.

16 gig iPhone 4S, running iOS 7. I can't delete these stupid songs from the phone and no matter how many times I re-sync they don't go away!!

These are probably songs that you have either deleted in iTunes, or deleted from the phone that were synced to the phone at one time. This is how it determines to put the cloud symbol beside them. iTunes Match is that way as well. Of course, if you would have mentioned the cloud earlier, it would have ended earlier too. Glad you got it sorted.

I've uploaded 100s of. songs from my MacBook, some are ripped from CDs and the rest from iTunes.

If the initial scan in iTunes has not finished yet then you can see this behavior on an iOS device. The simplest trouble shooting step is to disable iTM on the iOS device and open the Music app and let the content clear out. Wait for the scan to complete in iTunes then re-enable the service on the iOS device.

The fromat of the sonf might be wrong for your iPod. Either update you iPod's software or try changing the format of the song: Go to the location of the song in your computer(Explorer folder) . Click "view", "choose details", and tick the "type" box. Rename the songs that don't work only changing the letters after the ".". Change it to mp3.

New laptop, why can't I play the songs from my nano? Help!!!

Please help,I have bought a new laptop (windows XP) I plugged in my nano and my songs appeared in

You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes. The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod to discourage it's use as a device for mass file sharing. However there is a manual (free) method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes

Why can't I play some songs in my library?

My Itunes library has about a thousand and 200 songs... But there are 400 songs that i can't play or even I can't put them on my Ipod because they have in their left side a tick : I Tunes ask me to find them in a paste but i can't find them.. You get exclamation marks or dead tracks because iTunes can’t find the file. This can happen for a number of reasons:
The song file or a folder in its path was renamed
The song file or the folder it is in has been moved
The song file has been deleted
The device containing the song files e.g. external drive is not accessible or the drive letter has changed
Do did you change anything or do you have any other software that can rename or move files?
You can try using Windows search to look for some of the files so see if you can find them. Also look in the recycle bin.
If you have not synced you iPod since the problem started and you have the tracks on the iPod there is software that will allow you to copy the files from the iPod to the PC.

Otherwise you need to recover your files from backup if you made a back up.
If none of these work you will have to re-rip the tracks if you have them on CD.

Why can I not play certain songs which I have just downloaded?

I recently download 10 new songs and only 3 of them work and play out load whereas the other 7 do not .If you tap them they only skip to the ones working.my new songs also do not appear on my laptop (not an apple product). Some of the non working songs have faded out the song title and artist.

This sounds like your music is not stored locally on the device and accessing your purchases in the cloud. There is a new feature in iOS 7 that shows all purchased music and requires and Internet connect to play this content. You can download any missing media via the steps in the first article below. If the media is located in your iTunes music library, you can sync the media from your Mac to your iPhone. If unfamiliar with the process, I have included the steps in the second article below.

Why can't I play some songs when i dont have internet?

This is probably a dumb question, and I probably didnt understand it in the first place, but it seems that my songs are held hostage to internet connection. Most of the time i am somewhere that has interenet, but i also DJ sometimes and i cant get to some of my songs...PLEASE help.

Tunes that aren't aready on your iOS device can be downloaded uses iTunes match by either the internet or 3G. If the tunes aren't on your iOS device to begin with, the only way to get them from iTunes match is by downloading them or making sure they are on before you go somewhere where you have no connection.

Why can't I play a song I purchased 2 days ago?

I purchased it 2 days ago and was able to play it. but this morning I am unable to play it. It keeps asking me to authorize my computer in order to play. I have already done that and it still won;t let me play it. I can't play it on my iphone either and my iTunes Store app is not working. What is going on? HELP?!?!?

Why can't I delete certain songs from my iPhone?

On my iPhone they are songs that synced from my computer that I don't want on my phone too. I was trying to delete them today and most of the songs i didn't want on my phone wouldn't delete and I was wondering if there was a reason for that or a way to get them to delete.

When the new iCloud Photo Library and its accompanying Photo app for Mac is available, this problem will go away. In the mean time, you have another option. Instead of syncing albums or photos from your photo library onto your device, why not create a shared Photo Stream with the older photos you want to have with you? Those can be deleted as you wish.
Or, as Ralph suggested, if you are planning a trip, remove the excess photos before you leave so you do not run out of room.

Why can't I sync 320kbps songs to my iphone?

I recently updated my itunes (11.1.2) and my iphone 5 (7.0.3) and I was trying to sync some songs from my library today, they are 320kbps mp3's which I have never had a problem syncing before, but now when itunes goes through the sync process it just doesnt copy the songs to my phone. I absolutely do not want to convert them. How can I get itunes to sync the songs to my phone?

Call me ingorant, but how can you tell the difference on your phone? Do you have it connected to a really high end stereo? Seriously, I'd think 256 or even 192kbps would suffice for a phone.
I can understand if you don't want to diminish the quality on your mac (especially if you have it connected to a high end system), but you could create some smaller and lower quality files for the iPhone and then export them, couldn't you?
