Why can't I purchase anything on itunes

I hope this is because of it being Christmas. It just tells me itunes cannot "complete my request at this time." (sorry - don't know where else to post this, no itunes discussion)

I'm 95% sure that it's just the Christmas rush. I was on it last night, and downloaded a song with no problem.
But think, everyone that got an iPod or a gift card for Christmas is now going to upload it after they open the gift. Think of how many gift cards and iPods were given out.. We're talking A LOT here.
That's quite a bit for one server to handle (If you know about how servers work, then it makes sense =P). Just give it a bit. It's frustrating, but don't worry- it's not just your computer.

    You can only purchase what the itunes store in your country sells.
    The owners of the distribution rights of music/movies/etc. must allow itunes to sell their content.  Unless and until Apple is able to reach an agreement with these companies, then they will not be able to provide.

  • Why can i not purchase anything after redeeming my voucher?

    Hi, i got this voucher as a gift and when itunes has asked for me to redeem my voucher i put in the code and it accepted it, but when i go to purchase anything it still asks for credit/debit card details. also it is not showing me how much is on the account after redeeming it.  i tried to re enter the voucher code but its saying its already being used due to accepting it the 1st time.  i would appreciate any help Thanks

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device. 
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

    I am having problems purchasing anything from I tunes.  I KNOW I have the correct ID and password. However, I tunes will not let me purchase anything.  I log into I tunes and it will show my user ID as logged in, but won't let purchase anything when I try to do so.  I tunes prompts me to verify my billing information, but first I have to re-enter my password.  This is an endless loop. I will enter the correct PW and Apple ID and it will not say the password is wrong, just says verify billing information, and to re-enter the password again.  Any ideas Why? Thanks in advance

    Are you trying to purchase this as a gift? Then it won't work.

  • Why can't I purchase items from iTunes or iBooks on my first generation ipad

    I have the current update available for my iPad. I have started to notice that it will not let me install new apps. I have only been selecting apps that work with 5.0.1 but I can't get new apps or even add books to my iPad.
    I have purchased books on my iPhone which used to sync certain apps but that doesn't work any longer.
    Yes the iPad is an older model but it should still be functional for apps and books that have the ability to be used on 5.0.1 or 5.1.1.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
    Try signing out and then back in to your AppleID (SEttings App > iTunes&App Store).

    After i have signed into the itunes store with my apple id and password, i can't purchase any tunes. When i try to, it ask for my apple id and password again. Whe i supply this information AGAIN, i get directed to a page that ask me 2 security questions. I do not know the answers to the questions, because i have never set up any security questions for purchasing tunes fron the store. I have had no similar problems in the past, at least not until this latest itunes store upgrade.

  • Why can't I purchase songs on iTunes anymore?

    I have about $30 left on my account, but just recently, I haven't been able to purchase music.
    Whenever I click on the price of the song to purchase it, the "Verification Required" window pops up asking me to input my apple ID (already filled in) and to type in my password. After doing so, the "Sign-In Required" window pops up, and I type in my password again. However, after clicking "OK", the "Sign-In Required" window pops up again, and I have to keep inputting my password to no avail. I know that I have input the correct password, because it does not say that my password or apple ID is incorrect. I even tried changing my password, but I still can't get past this "Sign-in Required" problem .
    Any way to fix this?

    Tried that.  Didn't work.  Any other ideas?
