Why can't I send emails from my iphone & ipad? Everything worked fine last night, but I updated my software yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been having the same problem with one of several email accounts on one iPad2 and one iPhone5. It has been driving me crazy. I have deleted and reinstalled the email accounts more times than I can count and was ready to throw the device out the window. However I just found a post from another user who stated that they were able to solve this problem by confirming that the outgoing mail server password was corrected. Apparently they found that after an upgrade the old password was retained by the server. I had never checked this because it's a few extra steps to get into the outgoing mail server. When I did I found that it was incorrect. Once changed, I was able to send the email again. Problem solved! Also I agree that the other user was rude in commenting to you the way that he/she did. Thanks for responding to my query. I.ve already done as you suggested. The thing is in a test, which included the same email to my daughter ,where we asked the Australian recipient to type the return address - My daughter received the answer - but I did not. I'm thinking is there something I need to untick on my Mac? At first I thought it was because the computer in Australia wasn't a Mac - but as I say my daughter has the same model as me and she is receiving the reply's Any more thoughts?

You can and it should be automatic depending on your refresh rate. If your phone and iPad refresh every hour, or only on request, then the iPad will not show the change until you refresh the email account.
Next time you delete emails, try it....Refresh the screen on the iPad.
This only works if iPad has internet connection.

I want to forward email to my own account in order to change the subject line and file it but when although it's in the "sent" folder, it never shows up in my new mailbox. I am using Mail, I recently upgraded to Tiger. Any ideas? I've made sure my own address is in the Address Book, to no avail.

It's a POP account with Verizon.net. And having said that,
I just tried going to my mail via the browser instead of Mail and found the problem was that Verizon.net was putting my verizon.net mail into the Spam folder! Go figure. When I identified myself as "not spam" (duh) it released it to my Mail account.
Problem solved!! Thanks to everyone who helped!

Why can't I receive email calendar appointments that are sent to my email address, that i can confirm/deny etc?

A friend has to send me a monthly notification to attend a meeting, and her email is always blank, with no details of the time or date of the meeting and no tabs to reply/ confirm my attendance.
All the other committee members get the appointment details and a request to hit a tab on the screen to reply, but I don't have this. Do I need to set this up. I don't work so its just a home pc with nothing set up?
She now has to send me a separate email to tell me the date/time etc of each meeting, but I feel sure this could be very easily rectified! -

Try signing out in System Preferences>iCloud and signing back in again. Your data will disappear when you sign out but will return when you sign back in.
