Why can't I record a video longer than 25 minutes?

I've cleared other photos to make sure I have enough "space"...it turns off after 25 minutes. Ideas?
Thanks,
Theresa

that must be it.  Didn't realize I needed so much....deleting kid game apps now. Thanks!

  • How can i upload an HD video longer than 15 minutes via imovie 11

I movie will not allow me to upload a video longer than 15 minutes in HD, which i am a youtube partner and have not limits of lengh on video upload, is there a way to override this?
I know i can just export it as an .mov and then upload to youtube, but i prefer direct upload from imovie. I'm using imovie 11.

In all honestly, i don't remember, since i no longer use imovie, i switch NLE, but i do recall it used to take a very, very long time. I don't think as long as 23 hours, but maybe 3 or so.

  • I can't upload videos longer than 15 minutes

When I go to Share > YouTube I get an error that it can't publish because the file is longer than 15 minutes.
There are YouTube accounts that allow videos longer than 15 minutes, including mine.  It would be great if I could get QuickTime to let me choose Share > YouTube without getting this error.

So QuickTime has the following options for sharing in Yosemite: Mail, Messages, Airdrop, Vimeo. Facebook, Flickr.  You can choose any of these.  I haven't given Apple any credentials to any of the external services (not that I would know where to do that, plus I don't have a Facebook account).
Here are the "Share" options I get under Yosemite:
As far as why QuickTime is checking my account, it isn't. Like I mentioned earlier, when I choose YouTube from the sharing option, it immediately returns an error that videos longer than 15 minutes can't be uploaded to YouTube.
Your system must log in with YouTube before it can upload a file. Here is what I see when I select the "YouTube" Share Menu option under Yosemite:
If you told your system previously to "remember" your YouTube log-in info, then it shouldn't ask again. If you have never stored the log-in info, then I would normally expect a different error message here. That is what seems "fishy" here.
I'm also not seeing a PLIST file for Quicktime.  Or is there a specific file I should delete?
As you can see, there should be a number of QT Player associated PLIST files:

As long as you know your serial number you can download PSE from here:

  • Why won't Imovie let me make a video longer than ten minutes?

This has never been a problem before.  I have made many videos on Imovie that are longer than ten minutes.  Now all of a sudden it won't let me make a video that is more than ten minutes long.  What is going on?
On a somewhat related note:  Not only am I having this hassle, but I had to create a whole new apple ID just to ask this question becasue for whatever reason Apple wouldn't accept my credintials ( not even my recovery credentials).  Then I had to try to log in five or six times because at first they wouldn't accept my new password, which I later found out was because I also needed to confirm my recovery adress, and then because I had to create a separate Apple Support ID.  I don't know about you, but I'm starting to get really sick and tired of having to jump through so many hoops just to accomplish the simplest tasks involving apple features.

Try copying it to your desktop, then importing into iMovie from there.

  • How to send video longer than 1 minute?

I'd like to send some video to youtube that is longer than a minute. As far as I can tell, this is impossible...?
OR, if this cannot be done, can I edit my video down?
(sorry, I briefly searched this topic and didn't see anything right away).
    Thanks!

This is more than likely a carrier restriction. Carriers set their own limits and most set the limits at 300kb or 600kb. You could enquire about your carriers limit. With a fixed limit, the higher the resolution, the shorter a file you can send. I presume the iphone has a lower resolution option.

  • When will they update iMovie to allow it to upload videos longer than 15 minutes?

When will they update iMovie to allow video uploads longer than 15 minutes to youtube or is there a setting that can be changed that I am not aware of?

indeed, although you're entitled for uploads beyond 15min (as I do   ), iM sets some unwanted benchmark. me no programmer, unfortunately diggin' thru various -plists of the app didn't show me any 'hidden flag' we can set to change that.
don't complain, make Apple directly an Enhancement request:

  • How to create a Video longer than 15 minutes?

It seems a though I can only create a 15 minute long video in Premiere Elements 11.  Is there a way to create a longer video?  I have many clips and the total time is about 40 minutes.

    Thanks for the reply.
I have thought about how to get the Premiere Elements Instant Movie to produce what would appear to be a more than 15 minutes end product with
and without some maneuvers of the Timeline features.
    So far...
    1. In principle, divide your 40 minutes of source media into about 3 parts...each part with consecutively placed source file.
    2. Bring the ordered Part 1 sources from Project Assets, to the Timeline, apply Instant Movie after you have selected your theme and set up the Personalize Movie dialog.
    3. Clear the completed Part 1 Instant Movie file (not folder) from the Timeline and rename its thumbnail in Project Assets to read Part 1.
    4. Bring the ordered Part 2 sources from Project Assets to the Timeline, apply Instant Movie after you have selected your theme and set up the Personalize Movie dialog.
    5. Clear the completed Part 2 Instant Movie file (not folder) from the Timeline and rename its thumbnails in the Project Assets to read Part 2.
    6. Repeat 4 and 5 for ordered Part 3.
    7. Then look to Projects Assets and drag the thumbnails named Part 1, 2, and 3 to the Timeline to export consistent with your project's project settings.
Clean ups....note that, with defaults, you will have a title at the beginning and end of each Instant Movie.
Focus points....Part 1, beginning title OK, but do not want closing title yet.
Part 2, no beginning and ending titles wanted.
Part 3, no beginning title wanted but closing title wanted.
Part 2 can be taken care of in Personalize Movie/Theme Content by removing check mark next to Title.
Part 1 and 2....use Premiere Elements command "Break Apart Instant Movie" and remove the unwanted titles
or use the scissors tool on the intact Instant Movie.
As indicated evaluate the transitioning between Parts 1, 2, and 3.
    Please review and consider.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Is it possible to loop a video longer than a minute?

    hey guys,
ive been trying to look into this, and found the following solution:
Place the video in the document.
Turn on auto play and "do not allow pause" in the vide
Make the video a multistate object (two states, same content in both state)
    Set the sideshow to autoplay
    Set the delay to zero
Set the interval to the length of your video
    Test.
However when setting the interval to the length of the video, it allows a 60 second max. My video is around 4 minutes, and i was wondering if anyone had any solution into how to do this.
    Thank for any advice

The only way I can think of is to use a web overlay and embed a video player in the overlay.

  • Why can't I burn a movie longer than 60 min

Don't know how to be concise on all this but I'll try. I have a 5.50 hour sd video thought mac and imovie would be great, but so far I've spent 35 hours and only have 1 hour of video on a dvd.
One thing I don't understand is the entire movie is 7.8 gbyt (5.50 hours long) I CANNOT BURN THIS IDVD will not allow me to burn the 5.50 hours. I've called Apple support and been told only burn 1 hour "comeon Micosoft got you guys beat. I already edited and burned this entire video on a p.c. with the help of a third party software burning program called xdvd. I used IMovie and the xdvd for the burn. Another problem is space, the movie (after it becomes an event without any editing ) take up 103 gbyt WHY???? The raw movie is only 7.8 gbypt. My entire h.d. is only 320 so this becomes a problem UNLESS YOU CAN BURN THE SUCKERS.
Imovie is very complicated and is not straight forward, I don't know if it would help to use the "compression" I've tried to find this in a manual and don't know what its for?
Does anyone know good manual to buy for either imovie and idvd?? I WISH I HAD NEVER BOUGHT THIS MAC I bought strickly for editing my videos.

I can see your frustrated, but yelling at other users won't help.
This forum is for mobile iMovie (iPhones, iPad e.t.c).

iDVD can burn up to 120 minutes as a DVD.
There are more DVD encoding apps that can make longer videos.
But 5.5 hours on one DVD will be very low quality.
I recommend you break it up into 2 hour parts and burn if you can.

  • Uploading videos longer than 15 mins to You Yube

Ok, I have a You Tube account which is enabled to upload videos longer than 15 minutes but every time I try to upload with iMovie I get a message telling me to make the video shorter because it won't upload.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Chris

Share your video using SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE in the size you want. Then use YouTube's sebsite in a browser and upload there.
uploading through the browser has additional benefits. You can continue working in iMovie as it uploads, and you can queue up multiple movies to upload at once.

  • F4v encoded with Adobe media encoder CS4 (longer than 71 minutes)

Hi I don't know if this is the correct place for this post. So apologies me if this is the wrong place.
Encoding with Adobe Media Encoder CS4 (4.2.0.006 and 4.0 too)
Source: MOV (DVPAL) longer than 71 minutes
    Dest: F4V (H.264)
Result: freezed frames and only plays audio at 01:11. Media Player goes crazy and starts showing some diferent parts freeze frames.
In Quicktime crashes, in VLC the same of MediaPlayer. Sometimes the audio starts to downsampling and sounds like the pitch goes down.
Totally agree with this other post: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/580391
    (extract)
I recentlly encoded afew F4V using Adobe Media Encoder Cs4.  MOst of them are working properly but I don't know why, all of my video that are longer than 71 minutes seems to have trouble playing back.  They all Freeze when they reach 71 minutes or if I navigate pass this point.
    thanks and help us please!
    Kik

    Thanks for the interest.
I'll try to explain all details:
    MacPro 1.1 (mid 2006) under Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Darwin 8.11.1 kernel)
System files: journaled HFS+ and a unix based NAS (under samba connection)
I have all material on the NAS and also I make the transcoding over it. Is a simple mov containing DV PAL WIDE interlaced 25fps with stereo audio. typical settings with nothing out of DV PAL standard.
The version of MediaEncoder CS4: 4.2.0.006 (it happens with older versions too)
    The settings of MediaEncoder are:
    Audio: AAC stereo 44,1 kHz
Video: F4V. MainConcept H.264, fps like source, profile high, level 4,1. CBR compression.
The problem only appears with videos longer than 71 minuts. At 01:11 starts with crazy problems. It seems like the player have some read or problems.
Tell me if you need some other kind of information.
    thks
