Why can't I restore my Ipad since the IOs6 upgrade?

After loading the software update, the Ipad would not boot up.  I then attempted to restore factory settings through Itunes since that was what the screen on the iPad was suggesting.  The restore did NOT work and now I can't even iTunes to open on my laptop.  I've made sure iTunes is up to date on my laptop but everytime I connect the iPad, it attempts to open and then I get a message it is being forced closed.

Try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

  • TS4124 Why can I no longer download a single song to my iphone since the ios6 upgrade?

Since the iOS6 upgrade apple have removed the cloud icon by songs on the iphone that were not downloaded to the phone. Is there no longer a way to download a single song or even know which songs are on your device and which aren't?

Is it because of the iPhone, or is it because the email was sent from an iMac running Yosemite?

I cannot access Facebook on my iPad since the last upgrade - I have turned the iPad off, recharged it and still brings up an old page every time.

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

  • Data respond slow since the iOS6 upgrade while using WIFI

It seems as if ever since I upgraded my phone to the iOS6 upgrade, my phone takes forever to upload the app store, or even load data on some apps such as a stock market game simulator. I am using WIFI at the time, I'm not sure why the app store is taking forever to upload apps that I either search for or just the apps on the main page. This has happened also while trying to listen to a podcast, it just seems like when it comes to using data on the phone, while on WIFI, things are either not loading or taking forever to load; I know for a fact it is not the internet connection because I'm using the WIFI at my job and I work for a telecommunications company. Please respond if you're having similar issues.

Since upgarding to iOS6 my iphone 4 takes ages to load the app store...wifi working fine i think its because of the load on the server from everybody rushing to upgrade...Apple should have thought about this bottle neck before rolling out the upgrade

  • HT201210 Why can't I restore my iPad?

Ok, so long story short, I NEED to restore my iPad to update it to iOS 6. Then this happens in order:
When I open up iTunes, before I even get to click on my iPad, it says: "The software on the iPad '**** iPad' has expired and must be updated to a newer version." (I was on iOS 6 beta and it would not let me update.)
Then when I go try to update my iPad it says "This version of the iPad software (6.0) is the current version."
Then, when I go to try to restore it, and click on restore and go through the steps of deciding to back up or not, this is the last that shows up.
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPad '**** iPad'. The requested resource was not found."
So after that, I try going step by step and just trying to back it up to iTunes, which then iTunes says, "iTunes could not back up the iPad '**** iPad' because a session could not be started with the iPad."
So if you can help I will love you forever... But really I need this to be fixed.

Sorry I can't help you as I have similar problem in that when updating yesterday to 6s message says my iPhone "in recovery and must restore before can be used".   Have booked several times with Apple to get problem solved but they haven't kept the appointment yet. They have made a mess of this upgrade but I know upgrade has worked with 2 friends and no probs,.   Any help out there 'cos you're all brighter than me in this department.   Phone 15 months old 4S.

  • Help why can i not use my ipad since it reset itself

hi my ipad 2 just reset itself when i restated it and put id etc in all i get is cannot connect to sever why is this ????

I'm not sure what you mean by the statement that the iPad reset itself when you restarted it.  Do you mean you had to restore it and start all over again with device activation? You said that you put in ID etc, and that really doesn't tell us that much. Now all you get is can't connect to server. I assume that you mean in Safari. If that's what you mean, clear Safari, close all of the apps on your iPad, and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Why does reloading everything have to suck so bad?  I have had to restore my iTouch twice since the iOS6 "upgrade."

I end up having to restore to factory settings and having to redo my apps and passwords.  Restoring from back-up NEVER works.  First, it decided that iOS6 meant I couldn't use my wifi sync anymore because the computer was no longer available even though I didn't change anything and it works just fine otherwise.  Then it decided that my music library didn't need to be synced to the iTouch anymore after I changed my pictures folder location.  Funny, when I did the last big numbered update, I had the same problems.... I see a trend.
The Apple recommended solution - use the iCloud! (that is what the support page told me the solution was).  I don't want to pay for it and the "free" doesn't cut it.  I already paid more for my three versions of iPods (the old models never seem to have problems with music except they don't hold enough) than I spend on music in a year.
Another pet peave - the iTouch starts to sync before I put in the information into it again so by the time I have the info typed in, the computer iTunes is giving me a bunch of errors because I didn't have the info typed in so it couldn't sync my apps.  Then I go through and rearrange everything and set it up and have to resync page by page because when you go to another page, it wants you to sync.
I have successfully went through all the procedures to redo it again so this is more of a why do I have to keep doing this crap than a help me I want to throw this expensive paperweight at the wall.  I Googled "apple *****" and got almost a half million hits.  It somehow made me feel better.

  • Why can't I connect my iPad to the Internet on a University campus?

I have already read some of the discussions regarding this problem, however is it something the university should be addressing or is it fixable by going through various settings within the iPad. Can someone who knows of a tried and tested solution please let me know,  as an iPad at uni is of no use if it cannot connect to the uni wifi and access the Internet.

    Hi,
You will need to provide more details in order for us to understand the problem.
Are you in wifi range? Is school network open or password protected? If it's password protected do you know the password? Etc, etc

  • Why can't I update my iPad to the latest iOS

I have the iPad 1 st generation and have tried several times to download iOS5 but the system downloads 75% then terminates the download, any idea on how to fix it?
Also does the iPad 1st gen have face time? It has the tiny camera on the front but no "app" sign throughout the menu.
    Thanks

There is no camera on the face of the iPad 1 and no FaceTime app either. There would be no sense in having FaceTime without the camera. That little tiny hole that you see is the ambient light sensor which will adjust the screen brightness automatically if set to do so in the settings.
Disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily and then try to download and install the iOS update.
