Why can't I restore my iphone

my iphone 5 has crapped out. I need to recover but as soon as it "extracts data" it gives me an error saying the iphone can't be restored. The error troubleshooting says its something to do with security, but i dont know how to change that...any help

Why can't I restore my iPhone 4 from iTunes?

I bought an iPhone 4 the other day and after using it for just under a day it says I must plug it into iTunes and restore it before I can use it. I've restored it but It can never complete the restore as there is always a problem. "error (-1)" it says. What can I do to fix this problem or to complete the 'restore'?

I got my iPhone 5 about a month ago and this morning I left it on my bed to shower, my niece loves using it to play games so I gave her the password, however
she somehow ended up changing the password without knowing exactly what she was doing; just my luck. the computer I had it synced to broke about 2 weeks ago and I'm all for factory restoring it since I didn't have much media on it in the first place but when I tried to restore it (on another computer) I got an error from iTunes (3194) saying I couldn't restore it. I tried putting it into recovery mode, dfu mode, and I tried doing the C:/windows/system32/etc/ solution that Apple suggests but I still got the same error.
It's an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.3 please help! :(

Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software and ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow these stepsfor assistance with security software.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow theadvanced iTunes Store troubleshooting steps to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information."
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

There are several common causes for this problem:
Your security software (Antivirus, firewall, router settings) is blocking access to gs.apple.com, Apple's activation servers. Try temporarily disabling your security applications on your computer.
You have a redirect in your hosts file that defines a different IP address for gs.apple.com. you must delete all references to gs.apple.com from your hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, or /etc/hosts on a Mac)
Your phone is jailbroken or otherwise hacked.

Well, since you've had the same problem, with three different phones, that all use different size sim cards, it seems pretty obvious the problem is with your carrier/coverage & nothing to do with your phone or sim card.

We have cell data plan.
I have other phones (4s) and can see "Find Phone" App under Cellular Data and can turn on/off. But the problem phone does not have "Find IPhone" to be able toturn on/off. I made sure app is running when i go to Cellular Data. I guess the question is why do Apps show up under Cellular Data to be able to turn on/off? I thought if the app was made for Cellular Data it automatically showed up under Cellular Data.
