Why can't I right click and copy a email attachment in mail 7.0

I am tryign to jsut copy jpgs from email attachments without having to save them and when i right click in the new mail there is no longer a copy option.
Is there anyway to jsut copy straight from mail without saving the file.

Only because Apple didn't make that possible - although you can probably Command click it to open in a new tab.

  • Why can't I right-click and set desktop picture?

    Greetings.
I am having a lot of trouble changing my desktop picture. From what I understand, you right-click the image and click on 'set as desktop picture'. I click it and nothing changes. I have tried to download the image and set it manually through System Preferences but when I go into Desktop & Screen Saver but there are no other folders other than the 'Apple' one that have the wallpapers that come with the computer.
If it's relevant at all, my macbook pro is a 10.6.8 version.

You should be able to do it three ways, some of which you already know:
Right-click image, choose "Set Desktop Picture"
Right-click desktop, choose "Change Desktop Background"
Go into System Preferences, click "Desktop and Screen Saver"
Note when you are in System Preferences, the current desktop is shown in an indented "well." That always indicates that it is a drop target. You don't need to be able to see in the list the pictures or folder you want. Just drag it from the desktop, or iPhoto, or whatever app you're looking at your photo in, and drop it in that well, and it will be set.

If you did want to do it the old-fashioned way and drill through folders and files, you can click the plus symbol [ + ] below the list there and then you can add any folder to the list. In case you have a folder full of desktop backgrounds, for instance.
(I might be wrong about some of this since I am using 10.8)

  • Why can't I right click and "paste and match style" anymore?

I used this so many times and now it has dissappeared from the new version. Is there some trick to get it back into my drop down menu when I right click?

In Keynote 6 you would:   Format > Copy Style then Format Paste > Style

  • Why can't I right click or click with my scroll wheel on Top Sites in Safari 8?

Why can't I right click or click with my scroll wheel on Top Sites in Safari 8 to open the selected website in new windows?  I was able to do that in the last version of Safari before upgrading to Yosemite and Safari 8.

Having to hold down the command key obviates the ease of use where I used to just click with my scroll wheel to open several of the Top Sites in new tabs.

  • I can not right click "open in new tab" nor open in new window, in my bookmark file.the bookmarks are all there, but I have to open a tab first then left click to open an item. Why can't I right click? The options are there, but not highlighted/clickable.

  • I just installed the new firefox for Mac OSX 10.6.8 and when I select an image on a site (right click and copy) and paste in Photoshop 5.5, the image lightens. It does not do this in Safari.

    Question
I just installed the new firefox for Mac OSX 10.6.8 and when I select an image on a site (right click and copy) and paste in Photoshop 5.5, the image lightens. It does not do this in Safari.

Firefox, Safari, and PhotoShop each handle embedded color profiles differently. For an add-on that makes it easier to experiment with Firefox's color management options, you might be interested in: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/color-management/ Color Management :: Add-ons for Firefox]. I haven't tried it myself.

  • Cannot Right-Click and Copy in Win 8.1 Event Viewer

A minor thing, but a slight reduction in functionality that might just be a bug...
In all prior operating systems I've been able to drag across text in the Event Viewer then right-click and choose Copy from the context menu.
In Windows 8.1, right-clicking does nothing except flash the cursor several times quickly - as though something's failing in the event loop.  Control-C still works to copy text.
It's not something I have installed that's causing this.  I've reproduced the problem on a freshly installed system that's done nothing but display the Start Screen for the first time.

Using Windows 7 I just encountered this problem. It lasted for say 20 minutes and then reverted to normal. Did it revert to normal for you?
Thanks for your response, Gerry, and for bringing this back up.
Frankly, I'd gotten out of the habit of trying to copy data from the Event Viewer (plus, the error count has gone down a good bit after all the Windows Updates), but after having brought the Event Viewer back up now, near as I can tell the
problem is fixed in Windows 8.1.
Well, maybe not completely fixed.  There's no right-click context menu for things in the pane in the General tab, but it doesn't flash and I can copy text from everywhere with Control-C.

  • Why can't I right click in MAX anymore?

When I learned I had to install silverlight to use MAX, I was somewhat dissappointed but I understand adopting new technologies. I did become quite irate when I tried copying the IP of my EVS. The screenshot below displays the problem I found when right clicking on the text. Can anyone explain why my LabVIEW deified right click is broken?

Silverlight is a promising but maturing technology. The current version doesn't support right click menus. If you want to check out some of the cool things Silverlight does provide, check out the new NI Network Browser technology!

  • Prevent right-click and copy of my images and html on iWeb

I just created my web site on iWeb and used a lot of my photographs which I would like people NOT to be able to right-click and SAVE AS or COPY.
I would also like to do the same with all the content on the web site that I create. Most software that I saw like HTML-Protector or LockLizard only works on PC Windows not on MAC. I used the DigiMarc option in my Adobe Photoshop CS2 to watermark my photographs, but people can still copy them and save them. I would really appreciate your feedback and suggestions on this. Thanks.

If you put the files on the Internet any file inside your page code can be copied and saved by the viewing machine.
Anything else is putting a padlock on a glass door.
iWeb uses low quality versions of your images (800X600 in a slide show page) and your watermark and this low quality are enough protection to prevent printing.
If you want "private" pages iWeb offers password protected Site creation.
    Not much in between.

  • Why Can't I Right-click Open A Bookmark Into A Private Window?

    Hello Mozilla,
I have always wondered why am I not allowed to right-click open any of my bookmarks from a normal window into a "Private Window" like in Opera or "Incognito Window" like in Google Chrome???
Why do I first have to click open the menu(or Ctrl+Shift+P), click "New Private Window" just so I can then be able to use my bookmarks in Private mode. In Google Chrome and Opera I don't need to open a Private Window. I can just right-click any bookmark in a normal window and automatically open it into a private window for many years now.
Why can't Firefox do the same?

Why can't it do it natively like Opera and Chrome?
"You will also have the choice in the context menu to open a bookmark in a new Private Tab."
How do I open/access "context menu"?
Also this Add-on does not solve the issue. It still requires me to open a menu, open a "Private tab, then click one of the bookmarks instead of the direct right click-bookmark-into-Private/Incognito-Window method of Opera and Chrome.

  • Why can't I right-click to save images from webpages with FF 3.6.13?

Ever since I updated my FF version to 3.6.13, I find I have trouble saving images from websites. And not just on specific websites, but everywhere (and they aren't protected or anything from saving). In the past I could right-click on them and do "save as..." Now the only option I have is "save link as..." Whenever I click on this, nothing at all happens. Is this a bug with version 3.6.13? It's really annoying.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Cannot right click and copy/paste in Bridge

I need a simple way to search for a contact and send them a message.
How can I do this in an instant with just a right click?

I can have no problem in any view with a right-click.
Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences folder and trash these files:
    com.apple.finder.plist
    com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
Then, restart, or log out and in again.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)
