Open the message, go to Options -> Automatic find on (Most probably this would be set to off). Now, scroll down, and when the number is highlighted, go to Options -> Use number -> choose from call/add to contacts, etc.

if you are using your iPhone as recommended, contacts are synched to a supported contact manager like Outlook, or with a cloud service like MobileMe or Google. You can just resynch those contacts.
Text messages are backed up every time you synch, so you can try and restore from your most recent backup. However, any new texts sent/received since the last backup are lost.

If you tap the picture, you should see a box on the bottom left with an arrow pointing up. The first option at the bottom of the next sheet should be "Save Image"

Hi, thanks for replying. However after doing this process I now get the error messages when I try to save. When I try to save to the SIM it says "SIM full cannot add contact" and when I try to save to the phone it says "error cannot save contact changes". I don't believe the SIM to be full as I only have 15 numbers on the SIM. Any other advice?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

I have merged my Iphone 4S with icloud and now only have emails in my phone and no more phone numbers. How do I get the phone to be a phone and not an email contacts? Man pulling hair. I cann't believe Apple is so unlogical. I have a mac and it is a wonder. But the phone?????? waiting to feel the logic. any help would be welcome.

I'm not familiar with non-iOS smart phones, but I'm pretty sure that you'll have to enter your contacts manually. ONce you've done this, back up your iPhone to your computer via iTunes, and to your iCloud account, then do so on a regualr basis. That way, if you need to change your iPhone in the future - an upgrade for example - you can set up your new phone from your previous, most recent iPhone back-up.
Once you've set up your phone, download the Facebook app, log in with your usual credentials, and it should sync with your contacts on your iPhone.
If you mean your WhatsApp app, if your credentials remains the same, I'd have thought they'd appear on your new phone.

Why can I not save a locked Numbers document?

My Numbers is weird, slow and almost impossible to get used to. That's why I now
I still use Appleworks Spreadsheets on my Powermac for doing daily accounting updates, and
only then import a copy to Numbers for keeping copies on my MacBookAir.
I created a template in Numbers, open it for every import, then copy the content of the import
to the template. The template is named Copy 0.
To do that I will import say "12Dec01", then need to open "Copy 0" and duplicate it (so I will not lose this template) then rename the duplicate to "12Dec01". I
then open the imported "12Dec01" and copy its content, then paste it into the renamed duplicate, then "lock" that document.
I now want to save it, but Numbers will not let me save an open document that has been locked.!!!
Why lock it if a locked document cannot be saved? Besides this issue of locking, I now have 4 open documents on the desktop: The import, Copy 0, the Duplicate of it, and the Renamed copy of it.
You know what? In Appleworks you would only have 1 document open which you "save as" with what ever name (in whatever condition of progress you want to save it), wherever to.
Accidentally, I found I can save a locked document but only after doing all these extra steps: In order to lock the document it has to be closed and saved unlocked to a folder first, then opened up again, and only then it can be locked!
This process reminds me of the old DOS systems, which questiioned everything you wanted to do with "do you really want to do that?"
I wonder whether my Numbers is damaged, or whether it has a good reason to be that way?
Or maybe I missed some instructions?

Thanks Jeff, I was not aware that a template could be multi-page. (All the existing templates were 1 page)
But it worked, saving me some steps. When I was finished I renamed the document, and locked it.
Then tried to save it but could not because it was locked. I closed it, went to my Spread Sheet Folder ,
to find it, it was not there. The Finder could not find it either.
So I start over again.
I opened up Numbers and it showed my personal Numbers template folder, it contained both my new
original 4 page template and the vanished saved document!
I tried to delete the template containing these document data and could not - I had to go to the Library/Application Support/Numbers to physically remove it from this folder. Then I started over again. I Finally found out how to make it work: I can now "save as", and then lock, and it will go to place where I want it to be saved and locked.
The secret is: Click on the document title in the menu bar, and it opens up "Save as...", which works the same as in OS 10.4.11, and you can pick the place you want for saving. Once done that, you can then lock the document in the same pull down menu, and then close it.
I also found later that I can delete a template from its folder, by letting Numbers open the templates,
clicking on the one I want to remove, then go to the "Numbers Menu/File/Move to...", select "Desktop"
and from there the selected template can then be thrown into the Trash from there.
It appears now that the real fault of the Numbers software is that the "Save as" command is not available in the "Edit" or "File" pull-down menus, but hidden behind the title of the document.

Why can't I save new memos in MemoPad?

I recently switched from a Treo 755p to Blackberry Tour 9630 when the Treo crashed. I was unable to transfer contacts, etc from my Treo since it was dead, however I synced my Tour with BB Desktop Manager and got my Outlook contacts back. My old Treo memo categories also got transferred although I am not sure how, since they are not in Outlook. When I try to add a new memo they do not show up in the list even though I clicked save. I can add new categories but still cannot create (save) new memos. I can create new Tasks. Any idea why new memos will not save?

Open your Memo app on the BlackBerry.
Press the Menu key > Filters and UNcheck any that might be checked.
Now, do you see the ones you saved and were not showing up in the list?

Why can't I save the sender of a text to my contacts?

Whenever I get a text from someone who is not in my contacts, I can't save their phone number to my contacts. I think there used to be a button at the top of the conversaton that gave me the choice to save, but it's no longer there. Also, the manual says that all I have to do is tap the phone number, but that doesn't work. Anyone know what's going on and how do I save these people to my contacts without having to cut and paste? Thanks!

Why can i only recieve iMessage but not regular text messages?

All today, my phone has not been delivering me my regular, green text messages from anyone. But my phone will deliver me my iMessages, blue texts from my friends with iPhones. A message did pop up saying that my SMS mailbox was full and that I needed to delete messages before my messages would be received, but I went through and deleted over 400 SMS messages and that usually does the trick and the undelivered messages pour in.
Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

My experience has been that the first step in figuring out SMS issues is to check with the cell provider and be sure nothing has changed with the account provisioning or with the provider. Once you've eliminated this, it's time to explore issues with the device or device OS.

I get a black screen with the loading symbol and the picure never loads. I can see the picture within the conversation but when I try to open it up fully it never loads.

Also, I can't move the text in the pie chart, any suggestions. The selection handles are circular so I'm asuming this has something to do it with but how do I change them to squares?

Seems to me your two problems are one. Generally square handles indicate that you can move or resize an object. The circular handles (in charts - you don't see them elsewhere as far as I know) tell you that you have chosen the contents of the object to work with them (much like double clicking on a text box to modify its contents - except that in that case the selection is indicated by a colour fill, which would be obscured by charts - hence the different convention.
With the chart as a whole you can "edit contents" overall. With circular handles on a pie chart, however, you can alter the presentation of contents within or around them sector by sector: i.e., font or colour fill, and data fill - the selection of fields from "edit contents" you want to be shown as labels.
Once having selected those, you can select the panels to show round handles and alter the font size and colour as usual. However movement of this data is confined to "inside" or "outside" the chart, selected (again) from the data point label field in the chart inspector.
The reason you can't save a document with circular handles showing in a chart is simply that you have work in progress: you have not yet told Pages what it is you want to save, or that your selection is completed. Other than for the selection process, the program is effectively stopped.
To revert to your unhandled chart, simply click outside it once your selection is finished. You should then be able to save your document in the normal way. If this is not the case, then you would appear to have two separate problems, and I'd be as baffled as you about that.
Someone else would have to help you cross that bridge if you came to it.
But I rather suspect you won't have to.

Keep trying to sync my iphone 4s with my computer and keep getting an error message that my computer is no longer authorised. I follow instructions store> authorise computer and I then am told that computer is already authorised. Only started after ios 8.1.1 'upgrade' What the heck do I do ?

My iphone is locked by a pop up that says enter voicemail password, I can't turn off my phone, answer calls, text messages, or even unlock my phone! I cannot cancel out of it. I never set a voice mail password in the first place anyway.

Hold the lock and home buttons untill you see the apple logo. This is called a hard reset and is the equivilant of pulling the battery out and putting it back in.
Also if you have never set a voicemail pin the phone is asking you to set one.
