Why can't I see all of my contacts in iCloud?

Cant see all of my contacts in iCloud that are on my iPhone. Why? Is there a way to select which contact are synched...whether from iCloud to iPhone and visa versa? Thanks

It's likely because not all of your contacts belong to the iCloud account. Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section). Do you have the Default Account setting there, and if so, what accounts are listed and what is set as your default?

Why can't I see all my songs for an artist when I search by artist using iPad remote? I'm listening to music via home sharing through apple tv using iPad 2 as my remote. All my songs seem to be listed fine under "songs", but when I select "artist" many of the songs I have for that artist are not there, any idea why that is or how I can fix this.....I suspect it's because many songs may not be associated with an album and it seems only songs in albums are displayed when I search by artist.

Thanks Ferretbite, but that's not the issue in my case, the songs are not part of a compilation. I just checked several of them and the "Part of a compilation" box is unchecked.....it seems as if the song does not have an album associated with it, it will not display under the artist when I search by artist on the iPad remote which REALLY stinks.
Hope someone else might have a solution.

Why can't I see all servers on my network with Lion?

Why can't I see all servers on my network with Lion, but I can with Snow Leopard? Am I missing a setting somewhere? This is really frustrating and I'll have to go back to snow leopard if it can't be fixed. I can see other macs fine, but network servers and PC servers are missing. Sometimes they do appear in 'Shared All' and I can connect OK, but then they disappear again. Is this a bug with Lion, or am I missing something really simple? I can't work properly at the moment, so Lion has been a disaster for me. Any help really appreciated. Thanks

Why can't I see all the texts in a group text? I see some of the conversation, but not all.

In all honesty, iOS doesn't do group messaging very well. If people have non-iPhones, you may not see their replies, they may get gibberish. If you do a lot of group messaging with the same people, it might be worth switching to a dedicatated app such as GroupMe.

Not all film studios have so far agreed to make their films available for re-download, so their films won't show - also if a film is no longer available in the store then it won't appear

Why can't I see all of my backups on Time Capsule?

My Time Capsule is full, and I'm trying to do some maintenance.
I have an old backup on there from an old computer, but I can't see it when I use finder. Very old Macs can see the sparse bundles when I browse over, but new Macs only see backups for themselves.
1) How can I see all of the backup bundles on a newer Mac?
2) How can I safely delete backup bundles I no longer need?
Finally, when I activate Time Machine I only see backups on my machine going back 1 month. But when I browse over to the Time Capsule I see backups going back to 2011. I suspect this problem is due to a migration I did back in April, or else an OS ugrade.
3) Why can't I see my backups before September 2013?
3a) Is there something I can use to get access to those backups?
3b) if not, how can I safely delete the unusable backups?

It is common when the disk is full for TM to delete the old backups for your computer.. it cannot delete other backups for other computers.
This is done without warning now.

A gen1 TC if that is what you are still using is liable to die at any moment. I recommend you archive off all the backups now.. simply plug in a USB drive the same size as the internal disk and select archive in airport utility.. it will take several hours to copy the whole disk.. and you cannot do backups in the meantime. Then erase the TC and start with clean fresh backups.. maybe also to a USB drive so when the TC dies you can just move it.

Why can't I see all my "Sent" messages in webmail?

I've gone to My Settings/Mail/Save Sent Messages numerous times and have selected the radio button "save". Yet, when I go to look at my sent mail in webmail I can only see some of the sent messages. I think it may be the ones sent via webmail and does not include messages sent from my verizon email account hard-wired at home (DSL). I'm using Windows Mail on a Vista computer.
How can I configure my account to see ALL sent messages when using webmail?

Any mail you send from a pop3 client will not appear in your webmail Sent folder. If you want all of your sent messages to appear in webmail, then you have to send all of your messages from webmail.

When I use iCal on my computer, I can see all events posted to the calander. However, when I access the calander on my I touch I can only see events posted under each catagory (personal, user name, etc.). How can I view all events posted my computer's iCal without having to check the individual calanders on iTouch?

Yes install Flash. Plugin I believe. Or just use Chrome. It is, IMHO, a better browser then Safari.

Why can I not see and read individual files in icloud?

According to the Genius at my local Apple store I have something in the software or files I backed up that us causing a problem with my iphone5, and the solution is to do a 'restore as new phone' after having saved all my data somewhere else (e.g. store all my photos and videos to flickr, email my voice corder files to myself by email) - in other words a major hassle.
I don't understand why myself or an Apple technician can't just go into my icloud account, do a surgical strike to identify and destroy wherever the problem is and go from there.
To restore piecemeal is cumbersome and time-consuming. And then I still won't know what caused the problem in order to avoid the problem reoccurring (such as avoiding certain third-party apps or whatever is the problem).
Makes me think that maybe Dropbox or Google drive might be better choices from some purposes. I got icloud as a cyber filing cabinet, not just a backup if phone or to share across devices.

You can see the individual data in your iCloud account. You can see any of it within the apps on your phone that are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc.). But how would you ever be able to tell which one is corrupt just by looking? And that doesn't account for the thousands of files that make up the iOS, of other non-iCloud files on your phone.

Your contacts should be in whatever program you were syncing with:
Outlook for Windows, Address Book for OS X, Google Contacts, iCloud,
some third party application. iTunes has never provided this feature as
it is already available in other programs.
You also should have a backup plan to protect against data loss.

Why can I no longer sync iCal and contacts without iCloud?

I dont use iCloud basically because by doing so all your data - specifically your contacts and calendar - gets uploaded to an Apple server where it sits for ever. If you decide you want to stop using iCloud (like you decide for some weird reason to use windows instead...or you move somewhere where there's no internet - its possible) it deletes your data from the device you have unsubscribed from. This basically means once you are on iCloud there is no going back. Apple basically acts as if it owns you and your data and inorder to access it (excude me but my calender and contacts list belongs to me) its obligitory to use Apple and iCloud...if you dont it gets deleted and is gone for ever.
So I sync via USB/WiFi...but now after 'upgrading' to Mavericks this option is no longer permitted? You MUST use iCloud.....WHY?? - I dont want to!
I run a business and use iCal to make all my business bookings - these used to sync easily between my iPad and my iMac. Now it doesnt unless I hand over the rights to all my data for all enternity to Apple inc.
This is my stuff and it doesnt belong to Apple - I want to keep it that way
How can I sync iCal and Contacts without signing away ownership of my diary and contacts to Apple?
Am I going to have to ditch my Mac?? Why wasnt this more widely publicized??

Why can't i see ALL the photos in the album i have uploaded via facebook (v 3.4.2)?

I can see them if i login using my laptop. But if i check them out using my iphone4 (v4.3.3) i cant see them All. even if i click on "Load more Photos" it still doesn't do it. Yesterday, I have tried deleting the FB app and re-installing it.. i thought I was successful bec I was able to see the photos that weren't loading. Last night it was doin the same thing again. Logged out of FB and logged in: Nada. Hard reset: Nada. Decided to update ip4 version to 4.3.3 and was successful.. but the pictures still aren't showing and am gettin frustrated. what do i do? what is wrong? Some good samaritan please help me.. thanks!

I am having the same issue. If I use my laptop or even safari on my iPhone I can see them fine. But on the app, they don't all work.

Why can't I see ALL my music that's on my iphone in itunes? I can only see things I recently added.

I have hundreds of songs in my phone but I can only see a small fraction of what's on my phone when it's plugged into my computer and I'm looking in itunes. It looks like all it's showing are things that I added recently.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Where are you looking that you aren’t seeing your music? When you have your device plugged in and selected in iTunes, a sidebar shows up. In this sidebar, “On My Device” includes all of the content types that are currently synced to your device. If you click on Music, do you see the expected amount of content?

Why can't i see all the tabs in itunes store??

Hello. I am from Romania and I recently got an ipod nano 5th gen so i am very new at this.At first i used it on a different computer and everything was fine, then when i got home to my computer i noticed that i can't find the music,movies,podcast etc tabs in the iTunes store.It's really frustrating.I uninstalled the iTunes and installed it again but there was no change.I can only see "application store" and "itunes u".I can't find music,podcasts or anything else besides aplications and games.If i click on "home" it shows me the same thing.If I go on the Library section and click on Podacats,I can choose to click "Browse podcasts in the iTunes store".I click that and it shows me the exact same thing.By searching directly it's the same.What is wrong here? Please help. Thanks a lot

Sorry, but there is nothing you can do about it. There's no place where you could create "another account" that would give you any greater access to media. The content owners do not allow cross-border sales, so you cannot open an account in another country's iTunes Store. So until such time as Apple is able to obtain the necessary licensing and decides that it's practical to open an iTunes Store on your country, I'm afraid that you will not be able to purchase music, videos, or movies from an iTunes Store.
There is only one possibility for you: if what you're looking for are only podcasts, you may be able to find the podcast you want directly from a web site. Apple doesn't host the podcasts, they only link to them, so the podcast you want may be available from another source. You'll have to do a web search and see if the podcast turns up.

Under "View My Usage" why can I not see all texts or phone calls listed?

When I am on-line on my verizon wireless account under "View My Usage" ... the list doesn't reflect all texts or minutes. Why is this?

Do you have an iPhone? Are you using an app to text, rather than the standard texting? Those will use data and will not show up on your text logs.
Calls may take up to 48 hours to show on the call logs, and longer if you were roaming or in extended network when the call was made or received.
