Why can't I see any of my ichat buddies when I log on?

When I log onto ichat, I cant see any of my buddies or add anyone to my list. My buddy list is just blank, and sometimes theres one name on there and when I add a buddy that name starts flashing but then nothing happens. However, I can hear the buddies when they log on or off. I tried quitting, restarting, changing ports, but nothing works. I think this happened after I created a new account and copied and pasted my whole buddy list into the "Add Buddy" option. Does anyone know how to fix my problem?
Edit: I found all my buddy names in my address book in one card. I remember saving my buddies into my address book and trying to transfer them to my other account through the address book. Now my ichat list is blank, but all my buddies are saved in one card in my address book. Also, that one buddy that appears on my ichat, when I put the cursor over the name, all my buddies appear in the info bubble. I don't know if this helps....

You will need to sort out that Address Book Issue.
If you know "where" or who the Screen Names belong to I would delete the Names from the Card.
The Screen Names are always held on the server no matter whether you login to AIM or to a Jabber server.
Then you can work though and add the right Screen Name to the right Address Card.
Part of this also sounds like you have tried Parental Controls on your Mac User Account (Or used your current iChat details in a Test Mac User Account)

Honestly, it's a bit hard to say. No need to be quite so stingy with information.
As a conundrum, I'd guess that some of your images have off-line Masters. Aperture cannot export images with off-line Masters.

Why can't I see all my songs for an artist when I search by artist using iPad remote? I'm listening to music via home sharing through apple tv using iPad 2 as my remote. All my songs seem to be listed fine under "songs", but when I select "artist" many of the songs I have for that artist are not there, any idea why that is or how I can fix this.....I suspect it's because many songs may not be associated with an album and it seems only songs in albums are displayed when I search by artist.

Thanks Ferretbite, but that's not the issue in my case, the songs are not part of a compilation. I just checked several of them and the "Part of a compilation" box is unchecked.....it seems as if the song does not have an album associated with it, it will not display under the artist when I search by artist on the iPad remote which REALLY stinks.
Hope someone else might have a solution.

Why can't I see any of my synced apps on 5s?

I've updated all apps, updated iTunes, arranged everything as I want, and synced my 5s. I cannot see any of my downloaded apps. I download a new app...I can watch it download onto my screen, and them it disappears. My Settings say the apps are ON the phone...but...where the blue heck are they?

The next step after restore from backup is restore as new. Then test the device, and if it works, then restore from your backup. If the problem comes back, it is a problem in your backup. You would need to restore the device as new again and sync back your content individually.

HT4859 why can i NOT see my notes, photo's etc. when i sign into my icloud account?

I don't understand why my notes, photo's Calendar are not availble when I log into my icloud.com account. How do I know for certain that my photos & all are backed up???

Data stored in a backup on icloud cannot be viewed. Photos are never stored in cloud except when part of a backup and only those from the camera roll. Again, while the photos may be in a backup, you cannot view them at icloud.com.
Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage. Choose the device you want info on. On the next page, you'll get a listing and size of all data store in the next backup.

Why can I not see any newly created 'Groups' in 'Work Group Manager' on the client Mac at login?

Hi. Now, this issue has not been resolved since 10.6 Server. I have now upgraded to Mountain Lion and the issue still persists. I used to easily create Workgroups/Groups in 'WGM' and they would appear at login for those users who were part of that group. As it stands the old created groups appear ok and can be accessed selected at the point of logging in. The newly created groups don't show up at all. They all look good to go when looking at WGM. I have tried removing the Users from the groups and adding them again but there is no change. It is getting me so frustrated!
Why is this happening? Is there a quick fix for this?
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Hi. Now thats a hard one to pin point exactly. I guess you mean Archiving the OD and exporting users and groups etc Yes this happened when we upgraded from 10.5.8 Server to 10.6 Server.
How do I go about fixing this in Mac OS X Server 10.8.4? Do I have to go through all that again? Will I lose any settings in doing so?

Why can I not see any installed plugins?

I have Elements 11 for Mac and have downloaded and installed demo plugins of AnarchistSuite and Texture anarchy (http://www.digitalanarchy.com/texture/tutes.html) and also several plugins from here (http://www.richardrosenman.com/software/downloads/).
The anarchy plugins come with an installer which I ran without error, the richardroseman plugins don't come with an installer, but I copied them to /Applications/Adobe Photshop Elements 11/Support Files/Plugins.
I've closed and restarted Elements 11 but can't any evidence of any of these plugins anywhere.

When I go to the iTunes Store, I can see selections for all categories (Music, TV, Movies, Books, etc) but App Store is blank. I have tried to sign into my account, but it endlessly rejects my password. Password works everyplace else - iPhone, iPad, all Purchases etc. HELP!

Why can't I see any notification when message come from Tweeter or Facebook?

After installed OSX 10.8 GM and Facebook developer perview. I double check my setting, suppose it can receive anything form Facebook and Tweeter. But the result is, nothing show in the notification center. At the sametime, new mail can show up!

i dont think OS X 10.8 grabs your twitter or facebook feed and displays them in your notification center. it only allows you to share stuff (links, status, etc) on those services. at the moment fb is not built in to the OS yet, it will come as an update in the fall.

Why can't I see the photos in an album when I use the edit tool.

I can see the film strip of photos in the album at the bottom of the screen, and when I select one of the photos the name and order number of the photo come up but the window where the photo should be but it is just blank. Any idea what gives?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Why can't I see the changes in my image when I move the sliders in LR's Develop Module

When I use the quick develop tools in the LR 5.3 Library module, I see the changes in the selected image. When I switch to the Develop Module, when I move the sliders for the different tools, nothing happens to my image. When I go back to the Library module, I see the changes, but not in the Develop Module. Why is this happening? I have a PC running Windows 7. I have 30 gigs of space on my C drive. I recently updated my LR to 5.3 and subscribed to CC. I uninstalled the LR program and reinstalled it from the cloud. Same problem.

Why can I only see my purchases from Applestore from when I bought my iMac last week

I bought a new iMac last week had to create a new Apple password for some reason, now it doesn't show all my purchases i.e. music and apps. does anyone know how i can retrieve it all

To, "see" your purchases, you must be using the same Apple ID used for setting up your new iMac.
If you are using the correct Apple ID, launch iTunes.
From the iTunes menu bar click Store > Authorize This Computer
You should then be able to see your purchases.

Why can I not see the entire MS word file when saved as a PDF?

I saved a MS word template as a PDF and only part of the document is visible. The MS Word doc was erased, so I need to be able to see the remainder of the document.

By "part of the document" do you mean just certain pages or are pages cut off or...?
If pages are missing, that is probably what was chosen when it was printed to the pdf (or they were removed somewhere down the line). Again, the lost information would not be in the pdf file.
