Why can't i see my iphone in Itunes

When I open ITunes I can't my Iphone on the left hand side......any suggestions?

We have cell data plan.
I have other phones (4s) and can see "Find Phone" App under Cellular Data and can turn on/off. But the problem phone does not have "Find IPhone" to be able toturn on/off. I made sure app is running when i go to Cellular Data. I guess the question is why do Apps show up under Cellular Data to be able to turn on/off? I thought if the app was made for Cellular Data it automatically showed up under Cellular Data.

Well, not sure what I did, but I can't see the iphone anymore when its connected through the USB (it does charge) or using bluetooth for sending files. Ideas?

What about making sure the iPhone is visible to the computer? Open "System Information" by selecting the menu item "  > About This Computer..." then click the "More Info..." button.
Then click the button "System Report...".
Then click select the item "Hardware > USB" section. Observe whether the iPhone is present in the list:
type the key combination <COMMAND>+r to refresh the list after plug and unplug the iPhone.

Why can't I see my iPhone 4 footage in iMovie? I hear audio, but no video.

Hello! This issue appeared in iMovie '09, and has persisted into '11. I have reinstalled the app, cleared caches, deleted old projects and all-around run out of ideas.
My iPhone 4 footage, and older Flip h.264-encoded footage, will not play in iMovie. I can see the thumbnails, but when I scrub or playback the footage (whether in the project or not) I see black, but hear the video.
Has anyone encountered this and successfully fixed this?

Why can't I see my iPhone images in Finder?

Yes, I can import into iPhoto, but since I do my editing in Picasa I'd rather just drag or import straight from Finder. Yes, I can start messing with iCloud but really all I want is to see any files or images on my iPhone in the Finder so I can simply and easily access them.
I'm starting to get really sick of my iMac and its OS, not being able to do this is one of the reasons that's pushing me further and further toward just building my own Windows PC instead of dealing with compatibility and access/forced application usage issues.

Did you try to use Image Capture?
If you do not have iPhoto installed on your computer, you can import pictures from the device using Image Capture:
Connect the iOS device to the computer.
If Image Capture does not open automatically, you can navigate to your Applications folder and open Image Capture from there.
Choose the location to which you'd like to import pictures.
Click Options.
Click the Options tab if it isn't already selected.
Enable the option "Delete items from camera after downloading".
Note: Deleting photos after importing helps to reduce Camera Roll size, and it improves backup and restore times. You may choose Keep Photos if you wish to import the photos to additional computers.
Click OK.
Click Download All.

Why can't i see my artwork from iTunes on my iPhone 5?

Recently i'm having trouble seeing my iTunes artwork on my iPhone. I have the album cover to every album, but when i put the songs on my iPhone i don't see it. Is there something else that i have to do?

Since we have no way of knowing what all the instructions are that you are referring to .... first quit iTunes, restart your Touch, restart your PC and start all over again.
Then ...
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on all of the albums or playlists that you want to sync - or the entire library if you like.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
Also assuming that you are signed into the same Apple ID on the Touch that you are using in iTunes - the ID that you used to purchase the music - if it is purchased music that will not sync.

Why Can't I see my iPad in iTunes?

I have downloaded the latest iTunes version and the latest IOS onto iPad and yet when i attach to my PC it doesn't open iTunes automatically and when i open iTunes I can't see my iPad. Instead Windows 8 (the worst software in the world!) opens my photo library. Why is this happening? Please help!

Why can I not see shared applications on iTunes on a Mac but can on Itunes under Windows

1. I have a Mac Laptop, a Windows 7 laptop and an IPAD Air. I have an application on the IPad that shares files.
2. On both the Windows and Mac machines, I have the latest versions of ITunes installed.
3. With Image and IPhoto, I can browse the Documents directory of the shared application on the IPAD.
4. On the Windows Machine, on ITunes, under the Apps section, at the bottom of the screen, I can see the shared application and the shared Documents directory.
5. On my Mac Machine, on Itunes, under the Apps section, at the bottom of the screen, I can NOT see the same shared application on the IPAD that I see on the Windows machine.
6. In the upper right corner of Itunes on the MAC it does show "1 App" but I see no way to click on the app under ITunes and to browse the shared directory on the IPad
Any thoughts on what I have to do to make the Shared App show up on the Mac that shows up on the Windows machine in ITunes?

Did you put your audiobooks on your computer?
They will only be where you put them. You need to copy them from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

This happened to me just the other day. It's possible that this might fix it...
I suggest you try what worked for me:
Turn on the Prevent iPods from Syncing automatically option, then close iTunes.
When you open iTunes again, turn this option back off and close iTunes once again.
The next time you open iTunes, try connecting the iPod. Does it work now?
Use CTRL and the , (comma) buttons, to open the Device Preferences shown here:

When I first purchased my iphone I synced it with itunes on the family pc.
Now that I also have a laptop, which is my main source for all things computerised, I am unable to do anything other than software updates and add music.

Iphone will sync/manage itunes content with one and only one computer at a time. If you sync/manage with another it will erase the current content.

Why can't I see a movie in itunes although it shows as playing? The screen is black.

I played a movie last night and I have two others to watch. I selected one and the movie launched. The timer indicates it is showing. However, the screen is black. I thought there might be someting wrong with this movie, so I selected the other movie and I have the same issue. Now both movies are going to expire and I can't watch either one. It sounds like you were not able to watch a rental because the video was black, and had no audio. That can be pretty frustrating, and I would start by reporting a problem with the rentals to the iTunes Store support directly with this article:

Why can't I see my devices in iTunes?

The support page says if I click File, I will see a menu item "Devices." That item does not appear.

This fix has been tested in Windows 8.1 using iTunes 11.3.0.54
Plug in your Apple Device via the USB port on your computer
Open Device Manager
Navigate to Portable Devices in the list of devices listed
Right click on your Apple Device
Select Update Driver Software
Select Browse My Computer for Driver Software
In this Window navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
Once you have selected the Drivers folder ensure “Include Subfolders” is selected and click “Next”
This should then solve your problem, the device should then reconnect to Windows and the Device should appear in iTunes.

Why can't I see my content in itunes when I'm not online?

With my ipad connected to my imac, and NOT being online, the imac's itunes shows the ipads itunes content, but attermpting to call it up on the ipad itself, I get the "cannot connect to the istore" prompt with no content visible.

Sometimes a simple restart or reset of the iPad will help.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
