why can`t i send a message to one of my contacts? i can call her and recive messages.

The person that you want to reach must be setup and registered to use Messages on their own device before you can reach them and Messages only works with other iOS users and Macs running Mountain Lion. If you know that they are setup for Messages go to Settings>Messages>Show Subject Field>Off. Make sure it is turned off.

But if that person did not set up an iMessage account on their iPhone, then they cannot receive any iMessages at all, only SMS text messages.
Both the sender and the recipient must have an iOS device with an active iMessage account.
There is nothing you can do about it, other than ask them to set up iMessage on their device (which if they don't want to, is their choice).

Does the contact you are sending the message to use an iPhone?
The iPhone will send and receive both iMessages and Text messages (SMS).
The iPad will only send and receive iMessages.
iPads cannot receive SMS text messages.

It functioned well originally, but a month ago I could not use facetime and send i-message anymore. I think there is nothing wrong with my apple ID because I can still download apps in apple store.

Try turning both iMessages and Facetime off in SETTINGS then re-enable iMessages and then Facetime. See if that helps.

You can send imessages to anyone who is using an Apple device (recent models).It will try to go via wifi but if it can't then it will try to send as an SMS and for that you need cellular capability.
Does your iPad have cellular capability? If not then you can't send to non-Apple devices through iMessage.

Why is my Z10 sending Text Messages to my Contact's Home phone numbers over their Mobile?

I send Text Messages as Chats (sent to multiple recipients which I can then later send subsequent messages to) because as far as I know there isn't a way to setup a Distribution Group with the Z10.
When I select Compose, and then select a Contact, it is selecting some Home phone numbers instead of their Mobile. WHY?
Any help would be appreciated!

Groups can be created, new icon added with latest update.

TS2755 How come I cannot send or receive text messages from one of my contacts yet I can call the person from teh same number?

I have tried to send a text message to one of my contacts but it is never received and I am told they have sent me texts that I have never received. We both have the correct tel numbers in the contact info. The message shows as sent in green. Any ideas why or how to fix this. I already have the most up to date iOS in the phone (iPhone 5).

Contact your carrier. SMS messaging is completely reliant on the carrier.
