Certainly there are Apple employees that peruse these discussions from time to time - including the discussions area for all Apple products, but this is not where the bulk of feedback is acquired.
I know a couple of Apple employees myself, and the ones that participate in any discussions area do so as fellow users only on their own time. The Apple employees that participate here regularly provide the iPhone feedback link as needed. If they were here to gain feedback, there would be no need for these employees to provide the iPhone feedback link. When the iPhone feedback link is used, this ensures the feedback provided is forwarded to the appropriate Apple personnel. Providing it here does not.
I think it is doubtful Apple will allow a 3rd party developer to provide MMS support for Apple's SMS client. Something like this likely must come from Apple. No different from Apple not allowing a 3rd party developer to make changes to the iPhone's Mail application.

Why can't I send photos from the Cloud to my phone?

I can send all the photos from my phone to the Verizon Cloud, but there's no ability to do the opposite. No "send as Text" option, no "compose message" button. The old Pix Place had this option, so why doesn't the Cloud?

Thanks for your efforts sparkimusprime! Let's try this: download a picture from the cloud to your computer, then email it to [email protected] it will come to your phone as a text message, then you can store it on the phone.

Why can't i send photos via sms text?

Wondering why I can't send photos from my iphone to someone else's phone via sms text. every other phone i've had with a camera could do that. am i doing something wrong?

This doesn't sound very user friendly. I want a phone that's easy to use and doesn't require a ton of work arounds. Everybody else's phone can send and receive pictures just by knowing the other person's phone number.
They don't have to know how to send it via email.
They don't have to know what carrier the other person is using, or whether they switched carriers or not.
They don't have to go to a stupid website to receive a picture that someone sent them - a website that doesn't even work on iPhone, so they have to wait till they get home!
They don't have to tell their friends that because they have a cool new phone, they have to be treated specially so they can have fun too.
It makes iPhone users sound like a bunch of dorks with a phone which can't get pictures like everybody else can. I've been playing with mine for 4 days and it's a really great phone but I've already noticed that my crappy old Blackjack beats the pants off of it for sending pictures around without having to know who someone's cellular company is or what their email address is or whether their phone can send or receive email.

Photos to other iPhone users are probably being sent as iMessages. Is the accompanying text in a blue text balloon? To ensure that MMS is enabled on your phone for regular phones, go to Settings, Messages, make sure MMS Messaging is on under SMS/MMS.

When I open the message app, then tap the camera icon, it lets me choose a picture to attach. Does that not work for you? I can also go the other way by opening the photos app, choose a picture, then choose to send it with message

I just updated my software for the new iTunes and Safari this morning, but now I can't send photos on Messages. The recipient is someone I talk to everyday, he uses an iPhone, and I just successfully sent photos yesterday. Only after this update have I had any problems? I've tried completely closing the application and reopening it, I've tried different file types (JPEG, PNG, GIF) but no luck. I have a MacBook Pro 15" (2012), OS X Version 10.8.5.

There should be a camera button that you press on. It asks you if you want to use a picture already taken or to take one. Then you upload it on to the message and send.

I believe I have solved this issue... as I was having the exact same issue. There where 4 little letters missing in the outgoing server.
In the outgoing mail server should read like this... smtp.mail.me.com
And it worked for me.

Why can't I send Photos using Message on my Mac w Yosemite

I have just tried to send a photo, taken w my iPhone 6 and properly shared automatically to my MBP w/Yosemite.
I cannot send it via email; I cannot send it via Messages.
I checked for solutions re email; I use Postbox as my email client which may be the problem, though not sure how to fix.
Right now I want to know why I can't use Messages either! It had been working OK till now for text msgs.
Ideas/solutions would be appreciated!

The email option is grayed out when I tried to use it.
Oddly, I found a work around, which was to send the pics from my iPhone, which I guess uses the iOS version of Mail.

I've recently noticed that my phone is now hit or miss as to whether it sends a photo via email or not!there doesn't seem to be a logical explanation as to why it sends & why it doesn't!!is there a setting default which I need change?!if so where is it!

Why can't I send photos with mail program?

Up until recently, I have been able to send my iPhotos in my mail program, but it gives me a message that "Cannot send message using the Server smtp.earthlink.net
I think it has to do with my Account set up, but not sure...I am frustrated as I have some pictures I want to send. Any help is appreciated here !! Thanks in advance for your help !!

That is an issue with your Account. You need to talk to Earthlink technical suport or post on the Mail forum.

I compose an iMessage with the destination as my email address and I attach 2 photos I want on my PC. I send them several times from my iPhone 5C but they never arrive. I look at my ipad later and realize that it's iMessage app is getting ( and swallowing) these emails. I then turn the ipad off. Still can't get the photos through because iphone is now getting them on it's iMessage. I turn off the iMessage feature and try to send photos from text msging. Phone tells me it can't send photos unless iMessage it turned on. What happened to regular MMS text messaging? I go and try to send photos as an email attachment and see that there is no option to attach from the stupid email program. I look up online to learn about the brave new world of apple attachments and send them.

Did not work. I've selected iMessage to ON and left it. After a few hours I recieved a message "activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again". This has been going on for the past 3 days.

I message all of the time and I want you to do the same, to anyone you would like! Demmo provided a good suggestion of having this person check their services and ensuring they're setup as a 10-digit number, but I would like to provide some of my own suggestions.
If they are in fact already setup as a 10-digit number, I would recommend deleting this persons contact from your phone as well as the entire messaging thread (long press and hold on thread to delete). Readd them to your contact list and try again.
Please advise if this continues and they've already checked with their provider.

I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device. If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close.

Once these steps are processed, attempt to send the photo again.

Today I was on the phone and received an important text. I tried to answer it, but received the message that it was not delivered. I had to end my call to send the text. Why can't I send a text or get directions from Google Maps while I am on the call?

Google Voice allows texting (and is useful for other things as well). If you're not in the U.S., I don't have any suggestions beyond searching the App Store for "Text" or "SMS". In the U.S., there are a number of apps that allow texting to other people who have the app (much the same way iMessage works) but there are a few that will also allow texting to other phones.
