Why can't I setup a pop mail account in mail 4.5?

My Macbook has alwasy worked without issue and I use a pop sbcglobal ccount for email  I did some system updates today and suddenly my email won't work.  I cleared all accounts however when I go to set them back up I no longer can select the account type???  It is just automatically defaulted to IMAP when I need POP and it simply will not work correctly.  Any suggestions how to to setup pop?

I have no clue why such an account would derfault to IMAP?
Nevertheless, after filling in the info on the first page of account setup, hold down the Option key until the Create button changes to read Continue.  Then click on Continue, and you should be able to select POP.

    Your site is a CCM site which is on a WebBasics plan (This plan does not provide hosted emails on Business Catalyst).
    If you want to create email addresses on this site, you would need to setup your email server elsewhere and configure the MX records on your site to point to that external mail server.
    If you want to use Business Catalyst's hosted email services you would need to use a WebBasics+ or higher siteplan. To upgrade your CCM free site, Access your site's admin area  -> Site Management -> Upgrade Now -> choose the desired site plan and billing frequency -> Add personal and credit card details -> Submit.

    With sparse information you give I would venture that you have not set up the correct Outgoing Mail Server settings in Mail>Preferences>Accounts. Contact your ISP for their set up.

    After installing Mavericks, why can I no longer delete junk mail on my iMAC Mail program?   Also, mail is sometimes slow to load in mornings on my iMac after it has appeared on my iPhone.  I temporarily solved that by shutting down and reopening mail two or three times.

    I have the same problem on my iMac.  Most of what it puts in the "junk folder" is junk.  I delete all of the messages in the folder and they're back the next time I check it.  I have messages in that folder that have were received 2 months ago!  I'm thinking of unchecking "junk folder" in preferences.  Very frustrating.

    The previous Mail did have:
    MAILBOXES
    ON MY MAC
    The above separated the mailboxes slightly.
    Yes, the On My Mac has been removed and everthing comes under one heading of Mailboxes now.
    All my mailboxes are there that I had before though.

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.     This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.
