Why can't I 'share contact' via text on my iPhone 4S?

No problem receiving them but when I try sending one, the message fails :(

No try resetting your network settings, this will delete any saved Wi-Fi network passwords that are on the phone at the moment, but all you have to do is go back into your phone and enter the network password. Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

  • Can't share contact via texting on my iphone 4s

    I can no longer share a contact throught texting. I can only share a contact by emailing.

    Go to Settings /iCloud/ and then click on Account.  Re-enter your password.
    Turn iMessage off and then back on by going to Settings/Messages and sliding the toggle off and on.
    Then go to Settings/iTunes & App Store and click on your Apple ID and re-enter your password.
    Turn the iPhone off and then turn it back on.
    Retry sharing the contact.
    The above steps resolved the issue for me.

    Why can't I send images via text?

    Do you have data enabled? MMS enabled? While it doesn't count against your data plan, your phone should be able to send small photos, but does require a data connection.

  • Why can't pictures be sent via text?

    Why can't pictures be sent via text?

    Because the SMS (Short Messaging) standard does not include support for pictures.
    To send pictures you need to use MMS (Multimedia Messaging).
    The clue is in the name really - "text messages" send text, "multimedia messages" send multimedia (text, pictures, audio & video)

    I am guessing you are using an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. This is the forum for MacBooks, the computer, so the mail works differently.
    You will want to ask your question in the correct forum.

  • Share contact via text mesage

    Hi there,
    I'm having some trouble sharing Iphone contacts via text message. When I go to any contact in my Iphone and hit the "Share Contact" button, rather than bringing up  "Message" or "Email" pop-up it goes straight to open a new email with contact in the in the body of the email as .vch file and sending it from my default email address. This has worked for me in the past, I don't know what has changed.
    I'm using Iphone 4 OS 6.
    I've tried whole lot of different thing but still the same.
    Any suggestions please.
    Cheers
    Aman

    Can someone explain why ringtones dont work for texts on iphones when they work on every other phone i have owned?

    Uh, because they weren't programmed to operate that way?  This is not Apple, this is a help forum for users to help other users. We can't tell you why Apple does things...

    I cannot believe Apple has not fixed this problem. This should be intergrated in their OS. And it is not. Shame on Apple.

    That's a built in limitation of iOS. If you need to send messages to larger groups of people, you'll either need to send them in  batches of 10 or use a dedicated group messaging app. GroupMe works pretty well. Blackberry Messenger is also an option, though I don't like the interface as much.

  • Why can't I zoom in on text with my track-pad like I can with other browsers? I have a MacBook Pro. I used to be able to pinch and expand pages but now I can't.

    Why can't I zoom in on text with my track-pad like I can with other browsers? I have a MacBook Pro. I used to be able to pinch and expand pages but now I can't. I have bad eye-sight and really enjoy and NEED this feature to be able to read most sites.

    Hi dwightfontenot-
    Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
    You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the about:config page.
    browser.gesture.pinch.in -> cmd_fullZoomReduce
    browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> cmd_fullZoomReset
    browser.gesture.pinch.out -> cmd_fullZoomEnlarge
    browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> cmd_fullZoomReset
    browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> false
    To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
    Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
    Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
    Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

  • Why can't I share my iCal diary anymore with my work colleagues? I used to be able to send a link so the calendar could be viewed in any browser be it PC or Mac platform??

    Why can't I share my iCal diary anymore with my work colleagues? I used to be able to send a link so the calendar could be viewed in any browser be it PC or Mac platform??

    Ordinary webspace won't do - what you get is a text file: this is the problem - MobileMe took the file published by iCal and formatted it as a calendar. Presumably if you were running your own server as indicated in the help page it would do the same; but unless 1&1 can speficially provide you with a CalDAV server it's not going to work.
    Do your colleagues have Macs? For those who do, they can subscribed to a shared calendar in iCal and it couldn't be simpler. Presumably Windows owners could do the same thing in a suitable calendar program; and this is a lot simpler solution.
    Another route: according to this site:
    http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/publish-ical-calendars-mobileme-os-server-mac/
    box.net can do this for you. I seem to remember that this arose a while back, but I have a feeling that the poster then couldn't get it to work. I can't advise on that, but you might want to investigate it as an option.

  • Why can't I send or receive text messages to non-iphone users

    Why can't I send or receive text messages to non-iphone users

    Another thing you can try is to ensure that the setting for ( send as sms if imessage unavailable ) is turned on, this can be found in Settings : Messages. If this doesnt work you can also try changing the contact details to read mobile instead of iphone.
    That setting is not relevant to sending SMS messages to non-iPhones. It only affects what happens when an iMessage won't go through to an iOS device. And, what the phone number is labeled has no effect on anything. You could create a custom label "Rutabaga" and the SMS would still go through if the account was properly provisioned. Those labels are for human brain convenience only.

  • Why can´t I see contacts and calendar events from my iPhone in my mac pro if I already registered it in the cloud?

    Why can´t I see contacts and calendar events already registered in my iPhone, in my Mac Pro ?  I already actualize LION OSX   and selected these items in the adjustments menu of the icloud. I could do it just once, after I installed Lion OSX, but up to the moment it does not updates.

    Assuming you activated iCloud, try going to Settings>iCloud and make sure Calendars and Contacts are set to ON.
