Why can't I sync my music already in my computer to my Iphone 5?

Im having trouble adding music from my laptop to the Iphone 5.  Its seems that all I can sync to my phone is the music that I bought from Itunes and not the music I already had on my laptop.  Help

The way to sync music is to plug in your iPhone to the computer, then click on 'iphone' in the upper right hand corner. now you should be on the summary page. at the top center of the screen, you'll see 'summary, info, apps,' etc. and you want to click on 'music' there. make sure the box next to 'sync music' is checked, then click 'apply' in the bottom right corner. this should push the music from your computer to your iphone

  • Why can't I sync my music without erasing my entire current iphone library???? Newly purchased MP3s don't transfer from my (authorized) laptop itunes.

My desktop no longer works where previous MP3s and CDs were downloaded. I currently use my laptop now and cannot get recently purchased MP3s to sync on my iphone 4 without erasing my current iphone library and replacing it with what is on my laptop. I've searched and experimented with every possibility (it seems) without taking the "big step" of syncing my entire library. My current iphone library has 990+ songs and my laptop itunes library only has 381. I don't want to lose what I've got already. Anybody????

  • Why can't I sync my music with my iPad mini? I am using the latest version of all software available

I don't understand why I cannot sync any of my songs with my ipad mini through itunes. Please help

    Hello cwill2
Change one of the options to sync, like check to see if you are Manually managing your music and videos. If you are you can drag and drop the music you want to your iPad mini. If you are not, then check the things that you want synced in the music tab when looking at your iPad mini in iTunes. Either way, change it and sync, then revert the changes and you should be able to get your music on there.

  • I share a Toshiba Qosmio with my fiance as our 'home' computer, i recently bought an iphone 4, he has a 4s why can i not sync my music to itunes? Is there a way to have 2 seperate accounts on iTunes using the same computer

My fiance and I share our home laptop, he is awaiting his new Mac arrival.  During this time I have sold my old laptop and used this one, Toshiba Qosmio.  When i plug my iphone 4 into iTunes and try to sync the music, it prompts a window that says if i sync music his, from his iphone 4s will override mine and erase my music.  Isn't there a way I can have 2 seperate accounts or just delete his, as he is getting a new one?  I have tried uninstalling although it still comes up to his account.  TERRIBLY FRUSTRATED!!!!  I am new to the iphone, as we were Droid users prior to this.  Thank you for any help

  • Why can't I sync my music automatically anymore to my iPhones ?

I've got two iPhone 4's. Something has happened in the settings so that I can no longer "automaticall" sync my music.I'll select the albums and artists I want to sync and then press sync and it never transfers my selections. I can sync my music to our iPads with no problem. I believe this problem occured after I did a restore on thr phones because they were both having weired problems. I figure it has to be a setting but I can't figure it out. I've had iPones for years but can't figure this out. Please help!

I restart my phone and computer, then it let me sync. If you have same problem try this, it might work.

  • Why can't I sync my music in iTunes when I have enough space?

I bought a new laptop and downloaded the new iTunes, I thought that when you sync to a new iTunes it automatically deletes what's on you iPhone and puts whatever is on your new iTunes.
I currently have ~1000 songs on my iPhone at the moment (There is still free space available on my iPhone, but not a lot) and have tried to sync with my new itunes that only has 600 but it won't let me because it's saying I need additional space? If my iPhone can fit 1000 songs on it at the moment, why can't it reduce it to 600? I don't understand.
Also, sorry if this is in the wrong category, please let me know so I can move it.

Sometimes a simple restart or reset of the iPad will help.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work, check out this support article.

  • Why can't I get the playlist/songs from my computer to my iphone?

why cant i get my playlist/songs from my computer to my iphone 5

Inelligible songs include any that are over 200MB, are encoded at 96 Kbps or less, or were purchased from a service other than the iTunes store and contain DRM.

  • Why can't i sync my music to my iphone?

everytime i sync my iphone to my computer, it resets my contacts and notes. i also can't sync music to my iphone and i dont know why, please help!

I have no idea what you're doing then.
I believe I have two songs from the iTunes store, both free. Everything else is either from my own CDs or is digital music from other sources, including retailers such as Amazon. I have no problem getting that music onto my iPod. Nor do I use iTunes Match.
    Shicky-Wicky wrote:
It only syncs (through USB) the songs that I had previously bought off of iTunes.
I'm not sure what you mean by "through USB".
    The process is:
Import the music from CD into your iTunes Library.
Add digital music (from non-Apple sources) to your Library
    Sync iPod/iPhone with iTunes.
    Job done
So what are you doing? Can we assume that you have the music in your iTunes Library? If so, what do you do now?

  • Why can't I sync iTunes music on my iPhone 5?

Recently, music has stopped syncing beween my iPhone and iTunes on my Mac. There are two playlists on my iPhone 5 that seem stuck there. Any iTunes sync to change playlists does nothing at all. I have tried deleting the 2 playlists directly from the iPhone, then syncing with iTunes, but the sync simply replaces those two unwanted playlists back on the iPhone, even though they are not checked to sync in iTunes on my Mac. The playlists I wish to transfer do not sync, while the unwanted ones on the iPhone can't be deleted.
I'm running the latest version of everything. Please help!

  • Why can't I sync my musics from my itunes library?

I just downloaded the newest version of itunes to update my ipod to the version 5.0.1 and I have a whole playlist in my itunes.
when i looked in the music icon of my ipod, there was only one song in the playlist. I clicked on sync many times and there is no result.

Makes sense. Hadn't thought to add artwork to the actual individual files before uploading. For my own present sanity, I just added our logo art manually to each downloaded episode (3 as of today) so at least I have it looking right in my own iTunes library. But in the future, I'll do the imbedding thing so it will work for everyone else. I thought since iTunes has a lag time on searchability and artwork with the original first podcast submission, this was just another thing waiting to resolve on it's own, but now I know it's another tiny step in the pre-upload process. Will definitely remember to add the art moving forward. Thanks!
