Why can't I take cropped photo normal photo I can take out.

So once I look at my photos that I cropped in my iphone they are back to it original size photo once I take them out of my iphone. How can I make the cropped photo stay cropped and not resize to original once I put in my computer?

Imovie lets me drag and drop into a project window from the desktop. I use .jpg files. Are your photos .jpg or some other format? Below is Apple's video on importing photos from iphoto. I suspect if a photo will go into iphoto it will go into iMovie. If you cannot drag from the desktop, try putting it into iphoto and importing it that way.

Scan in mutiple photos in one file, can I crop multiple photos...

I don't know how to scan multiple photos as distinct file. I scan 5-6 pics it comes out at one file that I import into iPhoto. While it's very easy to crop each photo out of the file, I have to import the file as many times as there are photos
to crop.
I hope I've been clear. Is there a smarter way to work. I don't see a way to scan
the 5-6 pics as different files in my scanner software.

Vuescan is a 3rd party scanning application which can do batch scanning but is a little more difficult to set up. It works with most scanners.
If you have a Canon scanner you can scan in multiple photos at one time and have the scanner software crop, not as close as I'd like, each one individually and present to you in the editor of your choice or the one that comes with it.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Why can't I print a FULL PAGE PHOTO IN PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS VERSION 10, (letter size 8.5 x 11?) I have tried resizing, cropping and anything else I can possibly think of to no avail!!! VERSION 7 was so easy just print (fit to page)! I'am pulling my hair out trying to accomplish this! If anyone can tell me how to do it I would be eternally grateful! Thanks Julie

Sarah, my printer drivers are updated! This problem seems SO COMPLICATED when it should be so easy! It's like the more advanced these programs get the less you can figure them out!!!! I'am ready to offer a reward to fix this!!! The stress of trying to figure this out is making me crazy!

I borrowed the image below for an HDR workshop I ran at the 2010 PSNZ National Convention, to demonstrate a method of removing halos. You'll remember that halos were a serious problem with early HDR, and while the halos in this image were caused by over sharpening, they are perfect for demonstrating this technique.
It relies on the fact that halos so often tend to put a lighter tone between the two areas where sharpening is being applied. Whether that is the sky abutting a dark line of hills, or the rock and little tower as in this image. I've uploaded it at the size it was supplied to me at (about 2700 pixels wide). So
Click to open the full image, right click and copy, and paste into Photoshop.
Select the clone tool, and set its blend mode to Darken.
Try to sample on a line horizontal to where you want to clone, to give the best tonal match, and start cloning.
Because the sky is darker than the halo, it overwrites it. But the rock is darker than the sky, so it has no affect.
It works even better if you clone on a new layer also set to Darken. No masking, just Photoshop blend mode magic.
You can also fix the little tower. Use a great big brush — just remember to sample horizontal to match the horizon.
Back then I was using the same trick with CAs after forgetting to fix them in ACR, and having done too much work to start again after spotting the problem.

To take a screenshot of the zoomed photo, press either the key combination
⇧⌘3 for a screenshot of the full screen, or
⇧⌘4 to bring up a selection rectangle: select the section of the screen, that you want to save.
The screenshots will be sent to your desktop; drag them from there to the iPhoto icon in the Dock to import them.

About Olympus EP-1: ¿ Why Lightroom can't show difference between 2 RAW photos with different ISO?

When I take RAW+JPG photos with my new Olympus PEN EP-1 which the unique difference is ISO and I import in Ligtroom:
- I can see difference between JPG photos.
- I can´t see any difference between RAW photos (In Olympus Master or Olympus Studio I can see difference). The problem is Ligtroom

There are two sides to your question. I. should Lightroom read all embedded
tags to a RAW file, and II. can it even technically do it.
The problem is that all of tags such as this exposure compensation one,
sharpening, picture styles, etc. are embedded in proprietary file formats
that the manufacturers will not disclose the structure off. Adobe (and every
other RAW converter out there that is not made by the camera manufacturer)
has to hack into the file format to figure it out, so question II can be
answered by "probably not" This is not Adobe's fault, but that of the camera
manufacturers not using a standard RAW format. Interestingly, for camera
manufacturers that use a standard format such as DNG (think LEICA for
example), a lot of camera settings actually translate into Lightroom
settings.
For question I, you have to figure out where you draw the line. Which
settings, on top of simply white balance (which Lightroom reads of course)
should the program read and use? Myself I think the program should display
the RAW data as accurately as possible. In the case of the "ISO bracketing"
that is not really ISO bracketing, the RAW data did not change at all. The
program should reflect this, if only to make the user realize that it is a
useless experiment and only a waste of card space. That said, it would be
nice if some settings translate, but that is made really hard due to the
proprietary file format.

I doubt it, but maybe somebody at Adobe is adventurous enough to reverse
engineer/hack your files to figure out where the compensation tag is stored,
so you never know.
This is however a very uncommon situation to encounter. Why would anyone
bother ISO bracketing if the camera doesn't ISO bracket at all! You're
better off just dialing in extra or less exposure in post. For me the
advantages of LR over typically glacial and badly written manufacturer
software is so large that small issues such as this do not begin to add up
to an argument to change workflow. In the end that's all personal of
course.

Why can't I just drag and drop photos from iPhoto on to my iPhone?

This has been something on my mind for a long time. For some reason I can't just drag and drop certain photos from my computer on to my iPhone. Why? There both Apple products. Shouldn't it be easier? For some reason I have to go through iTunes to select which albums I would like to import, but I'm working with raw files. My computer has over 250 gb of storage space. My iPhone has 16 gb. One of my even folders is 14 gbs. That would take up all the space on my phone. Is there a way to get around this? Why do I have to go through iTunes to put files on my iPhone?

Only Apple can answer that question, so you'll need to ask them.
But will your phone work with Raw files? If you're syncing from iPhoto via iTunes then that's not the raw file that's going over, it's the Jpeg preview from iPhoto.
As for the space issue, make an album of the photos you want to sync.

If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tapping Settings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Third-party cases can interfere with the autofocus/exposure feature and the flash; try removing the case if you have image-quality issues with photos.
Try turning the iPad off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try switching between the front and the back cameras to verify if the issue persists on both.

Why can't I "add photos to photo.app" from Safari?

I only use Safari for the ability to grab and "add" photos or images directly from Safari into (previously - iphoto) but now it's Photo.app. Why does this feature cease to work? Why are there so many more steps to using Photo.app. I do not think this is an improvement to download to my drive then go to the Photo.app to then import the image.
My OS is 10.10.3. Am I the only one having this issue? Anyone find a workaround because Firefox is the clear winner if this little feature has been stripped away in Photo.app.

My irritations and query is because that option no longer works for me. The option is "available" but does nothing to right click for the menu options to "add to photo". It produces no action whereas it use to direct right into iphoto where I could make quick notes or the reference regarding why I wanted the image.
I can only download the image then go and import into Photo.app. I can't even drag the image over in order to make quick notes while I remember why I was collecting the image in the first place.
I am not sure if there are enough users of Photo.app at this time having this issue or at least not enough powerusers who relied on this once handy feature to note the disappearance in Photo.a
I wrote this up as a feature request. I hope others do too. Or tell me how to resolve this because I don't think Apple software engineers have considered the break in communication between Safari and Photo.app. Maybe it's intentional. IDK

Hi there. I'm having the same problem: my iPad won't import some photos from a folder, saying that they can't be read. They are all JPEGS and some photos taken at the same time have synched fine, but out of a folder with 200 photos, it only lets me synch 37. I'm synching albums created via Photoshop Elements 6, which has worked fine until now.
I've tried deleting all photos and re-synching, and have also deleted the iPod Photo Cache, but it hasn't made a difference.
The iPad auto-updated to the latest version of iTunes, so maybe that's what's causing it?
Any advice gratefully received!
