Why can't i turn on my iPod touch 16 GB 4th generation?

Hi, i've had my iPod for 6 months now and it's been working fine but then today Nov 11th, i was just done updating a game and i went back on the apps store and i felt a electric shock and my iPod sloowly turned white. I reset it by pressing the home button and he power button at the same time and then it went black. The iPod was really hot, so i left it untouched so it could cool down. Now that it's cool down, it WILL NOT turn back on!!! I am upset and i've tried everything including connecting it to the computer and charging it. I know my battery was Full before it blacked out on me, so what is the problem and how can i fix it?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Can I transfer music from one Ipod touch to a newer generation Ipod touch?

Can I transfer music from one IPod Touch to a newer generation IPod Touch?

    - No directly.  You have to first get the music in your itunes library on your computer and then sync the music to the new computer.
    - You can/should restore you new iPod from the backup of your old iPod to get app date and other things on the new iPod.  You will have to reenter passwords since passwords only get restore to the same device. The backup does not contain music so that has to be synced.
    - You can transfer iTunes purchased from an iPod to your computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - The follow discussion discusses third-party programs to transfer non-iTunes purchases from an iPod to a computer.

Why window 8 does not recognize ipod touch model A1367 4th generation?  and of course iTunes either.

    See:

Yes they can, you are correct. I should have maybe said that in my post. I was merely trying to say that I believe they want to keep the iPhone more organized. I got out of dragging and dropping to my iPod after I created my first playlist. Makes things a lot eaiser just to sync a list.

  • Why can't I update my 3G iPod touch to iOS 5?

I have the verison 10.5 of iTunes and I connect my 3rd Gen iPod touch, I click Check for Update but it says "4.2.1 is the current verison" I don't know what to do.

You probably have a 2G iPod and those can only go to 4.2.1.  If 8 or 16 GB it is a 2G. A 32 GB can be either . To identify yours:
Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage

  • Why can't I iMessage my sons iPod touch

This is the problem - husband, oldest son and I all have iPhone 4S - youngest son has iPod touch 5.... We set youngest up with iMessage on the touch. Husband & oldest son can reply to younger son, however when I try to reply to him I just get a message that says " user is not available by iMessage at this time" he has no problems I messaging me, I just can't reply or send him a message in return - help please

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  Something as small as an iPod should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

  • Is it possible to trade a 2nd Generation iPod Touch for a 4th Generation iPod Touch?

My younger sister has a 4th generation with a camera. Is it possible to trade a 2nd generation for a 4th generation at...say Walmart or Target?

I don't think so - the 4G is newer and the prices have changed. You can always try, but i don't think you will get a brand new iPod... If they gave away iPods like that, they wouldn't make business...

  • Do Ipod touch 3rd and 4th generations come with 16 GB

    Hi,
I'm confused.  We bought our daughter an Ipod Touch 4G for Christmas and the product listing said 16 GB. Now we are looking to puchase a used Ipod Touch 3G 16 GB for her little brother to play games and listen to music.  However, in my research I'm finding that Apple does not list either of these generations (3rd OR 4th) as coming with 16 GB, only 32 GB or 64 GB.  Can anyone clear this up for me as I see tons of 3G/16 GB listings on Ebay and I'm wondering if they are valid or are they actually 2G.  I know there is a difference in model no. but what are the true differences?   Also, will a 3G be sufficient for the game-playing or do most of the new games require a higher IOS than the 3G can run?  (No matter how much $ we save by buying an earlier generation, it will be money wasted if it's not useful!!)  Thanks.

Apple did not release a 16GB 3rd-generation iPod touch, only 32GB and 64GB models, so any such claims are in error. You can learn how to differentiate the different models, and see the capacities they come/came in, here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353
As to whether to purchase a 3rd-gen unit, I'd advise against it. It can't run the current version of iOS, iOS 6, and hence will see fewer and fewer apps available for it. Get at least a 4th-gen model.
    Regards.

  • FaceTime: I have just bought an ipod touch 32 gb (4th generation); however, the facetime icon does not appear in my screen or settings, there is no simcard so it has nothing to do with the carrier. Any suggestions?

    IPod touch 4th generation..Facetime.

Well yes your close. I got it from Egypt and i am in Egypt now, but vodafone (one of our carriers ) has implemented the use of facetime to its customers here. I guessed the same in the begninig but even if it didnt, since im not using a simcard is that supposed to matter anyways?
It is no where to be found on my ipod, i searched. Also it is not being restricted or anything.
And anyways im goin to the UK next month and staying for a while, would the icon automatically appear, since it comes pre-installed im guessing i wont be able to install it from a unrestricted country (if this was the case) since it is not installed on my ipod in the first place.
    Thank you,
Sorry for the inconvenience, but this could be quiet confusing.
