Why can't I undo a big mistake renaming folders--help my library's wrecked

I was backing up a CD we bought for the kids to learn spanish. I multiple edited all of the album's details to call it spanish cd and after I pressed enter a box appeared that said it was processing, and to my horror all the names of my whole itunes library appeared momentarily as they got worked over. Now my whole library is called 'spanish cd' and no albums are together anymore. I tried to undo the action but cannot. Can anybody pLEEEZE help me. I feel that I will have to reload sixty + CDs. Help, help, help. SOS.
Aidan. PS I tried to unchech boxes that say itunes should arrange folders as one entry on the forum seemed to be saying this causes 'undo' problems in other ways. NO result. Help!!!!

iTunes does not have an undo feature and will not necessarily warn you that you are about to do something catastrophic.
If you have the files on an iPod then you could recover them complete with correct tags using methods in this post from Zevoneer: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6273675&#6273675
Failing that, you could try MusicBrainz PicardTagger. This is supposed to be able to extract an audio fingerprint of your media files and compare them with a database to determine the correct tag info. It works best however when the files are still arranged in related groups.
Unchecking the "Keep iTunes Music folder organised" option now is a horse & stable door scenario. If you'd done that before your mass edit a simple tagging tool could have rebuilt the album titles from each file's folder name.

Examples of what is going on:
1. In Pages, Numbers & Keynote, when I go to the media browser the Audio section reads "Open iTunes to populate this list" even after iTunes has been opened, .xml file has been replaced/repaired, etc AND Photo section reads "Open iPhoto to see photos from your iPhoto Library in this list" even after iPhoto Library has been replaced and new default library created.
2. In iMovie, similar thing ... when I go to add photos or music to a movie the iTunes files aren't present and the iPhoto photos are missing with similar messages as in #1.
3. In iPhoto, similar thing ... when I go to add music to a slideshow it says to "Open iTunes to populate this list".
It is shocking to me that Apple would let something as simple as a pathway link to associated library files get this messed up on an upgrade, but what's even more surprising is that with the number of people who seem to be having this particular issue (and I can tell from all the research that I've done for weeks online that there are a lot of them) that there doesn't seem to be a single clear answer to fixing it anywhere on these community support forums. Most of what I've seen is rehashed advice from outdated issues. What I need is a simple answer to how do we get these programs to look for the correct location of the photo and music files because I sure can't seem to find any logical place to do that through the programs' preferences files or the system preferences window?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem on a new MacBook Pro. I have not been able to access the iTunes library from iPhoto since I got this computer. I looked in the Preferences file and deleted the com.apple.iApps.plist but there was no com.apple.iApps.lockfile so I just deleted the iAPPs.plist and rebooted the computer. Still no iTunes available in iPhoto.
All my music is in iTunes and plays. After reading the above I brought up Pages and I was able to access music and insert a track into a document.
Do you have any suggestions.

Why Can't I Undo an Email Delete in Mail?

I'm running the latest version of Mountain Lion and my email is handled by Gmail IMAP through Apple's Mail.app.
If I accidentally delete an email in my inbox, there's no Undo available. The Undo command is grayed out in the Edit menu.
Why in the world can I not undo a delete in Mail??

I can indeed find the email in the trash, but like a lot of people I use my inbox as a kind of to-do list, so there are emails in there that are two or three weeks old. That means that if I accidentally delete one such message and I don't know which one I've deleted (and this has happened several times), I have to look through thousands of emails (inluding deleted Spam) hoping to spot the one accidentally deleted. Not practical. But thanks for the suggestion.
Apple should just fix things so there's a working Undo command.

If it's iTunes purchased music then you might be able to re-download it on your iPad via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app - it will download into the Music app. If you want your other music from your computer's iTunes (e,g. music copied from CDs and playlists) then you will need to sync it from your computer's iTunes to your iPad's Music app.

Why can't I undo on indesign

I am an old photoshop and Quark express user coming back into the design world after a 7 year change of career.
I am now trying to use Creative Cloud and the indesign program. I find it difficult to use but I know its just a learning curve. So now to my delima, I have noticed that I can't use my undo command when I want to make a change. I also am trying to figure out why I can select any images or text boxes anymore in a document I am using. Its like the document some how got flattened. Please respond. I also notice that my text boxes sometimes change angles. Is this normal?

Welcome Paul. When you know QuarkXpress than InDesign is easy to learn.
The reasons why you can't access any object on the canvas may be, that you locked them. Try "Object > Unlock All on Spread" or you have locked the layer you are working on. See the palette if there is a small lock before the layer name. Another option can be that you put your objects on the master page and now you are on the "normal" page. See the layer palette and double click on the master.
Text boxes with angles? You mean that they are no rectangles anymore? Select the object and go to "Object > Convert shape > Rectangle". The reason is that InDesign come with basic Illustrator functions. Always use the black arrow for general selecting purposes. The white arrow goes deeper into the objects and can manipulate e.g. the shape of a text field.
To navigate on the canvas you can hold "space bar".

Thanks for the info on complaints. They never gave me that, just kept telling me accounting was working on it. I paid off a phone that I had purchased with a Discover credit card that got compromised. Therefore the charge was taken back. I called them and told them about it. I also paid for it at that time from my checking account and it showed as a credit for awhile and then it disappeared. They turned around and charged me again on my bill. They cut my service off without notice twice because I refused to pay it again. They said they were investigating it and turned my service on. Once again they told me my Bank had taken the money back. I sent all copies of my statements and had my bank get on the phone with them and verify they did not take the money back. They refused to take it off and at a very important time to be without my phone I paid it on the terms they would give it back once they found where they put my money in the first place. They are yet to do that! They have it, they know it and refuse to give it back. I hope that explains that I am not just saying this and I know how to read my bill. I even took pics of the credit while it was there and when it disappeared and when they put the charge back on it.

Help! Why can't I send to a group? Please help!

When I try to send an email to a group, with the individual addresses hidden (set in preferences), I get the following error message:
*This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.*
*Sending the message content to the server failed.*
But when I send to the same group with the addresses showing, it works fine.
I want to hide the addresses. What can I do? Why is it not working?

Why can't I change the order of songs in my iTunes library?

If I create a playlist I can change the order of songs but I can't change the order in the Library. Can anyone help me?

That's the normal intended behaviour of the Library. I'm not exactly sure why it is, but I guess it's to make it clear to users that if they want to "fine tune" the tracks they should use a playlist (just like you can't use the burn button in the library).
I'm sure you've noticed that you can still sort the library by clicking the headings.

Why can I not open 2 windows (playlists) to view playlist and library at same time

I cannot open a separate playlist window at the same time I am viewing my library as I have been able to in all previous versions. I want to see all my songs in a separate window, plus a playlist open that I can drag and drop into. Or maybe 2 playlists open. Is this not possible any longer. i want to be able to have different playlist in different windows to manage my tracks.

No longer an option. Best you can do is enable the side bar (CTRL+S), display the source tracks and drag them onto the playlist you want them to go to. You'll have to reorder that playlist, if necessary, as a separate step.

Why can't I update Camera Raw 6.6 through Help menu?

I have a Photoshop Element 10 Editor (the one bought from App Store), and now I try to update Camera Raw to 6.6. After reading through Adobe's website, they suggest to update it from help menu but problem is I couldn't find the update in my help menu. What did I do wrong? So I then downloaded the Camera Raw 6.6 from Adobe Website trying to manually install it, and now I got a message "Update is not applicable". What does this mean now? Any advice please...
Also, I contacted Adobe via Live Chat, and then I got supporter who asked me for only serial number otherwise there is no help. I then told him, App Store did not provide one but seems he doesn't have a clue what is App Store and insisted me to contact the store directly to ask for a serial number. ??? I tried to explain him that the App Store is the store where you downloading software online through Apple's computer, and he seems still not understand what App Store is and concluded me if I have any other question I would like to ask? Great.. so I asked him where he is residing and he replied "India". Well.. I don't know how the support live chat go through India, but I want a support from someone who know what "App Store" is. You can't update it because you have the app store version. Apple doesn't allow apps sold via the app store to update any way except via the app store, and adobe evidently doesn't think it's worth creating a whole new version every time there's a raw update. You can do it manually, although it's quite a pain. Directions are in this thread:

EDIT Incidentally, although I doubt it will help with tech support (they often seem to be missing all PSE pages from their script books), for the app store version your serial number is your apple ID, at least when it comes to qualifying for upgrade pricing and things like that.

Why can I not find "command line options" in FF help?

I can't find any information in the knowledge base on windows command line options for Firefox. I actually had to go to "http://kb.mozillazine.org/Command_line_arguments" to find this information. This seems like a fairly common piece of information FF users would want to know. At least, it's not extraordinarily rare.

Why can't I change names of files or folders on desktop

I'm logged in as User, and the filepath, from main drive down to 'Desktop' shows that User has permission to change contents.
I have 'Repaired Permissions' both with DiskWarrior and with Disk Utility.
Yet I can't change the name of a TextEdit file 'Unnamed' which I've put into a folder on the Desktop.
Even renaming the Folder was a mission, but somehow I managed it using CMND-I ( which doesn't work with the enclosed file)
What might be going on?
The computer here is iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06 GHz, OS 10.6.7

I'm not at all sure it would make any great difference but your machine needs to be updated as follows. Good idea to do it anyway. Then test for your requirement again

Why Can't I install Adobe Flash Player? Please Help!

I have Windows 7 and my laptop is fairly new. I want to install Adobe Flash Player because when i go to Youtube it just shows a black screen for videos, Facebook doesn't load completely, when i go to google images, If i type in the most basic search for example "the grand canyon" no images will pop up...It just says cant find image and some other crap so thats when i knew something was wrong..But when I go to Adobe Flash Player and try to install it, The Install button doesnt even pop up, but sometimes it does but even when it does I'll click on it but nothing happens..it wont start the download or anything..Please Help.

Why can't l click and drag a photo from my pictures library to my iphone?

I am trying to move photos from my laptop to my iphone. I have tried clicking and dragging individual photos from my picture library to the iphone but l receive a message saying my iphone is not responding.
I have tried syncing via itunes but when l want to sync a further folder it replaces the one which as already been synced?
Any ideas?

There has never been a function to copy anything from an iPhone and paste it to a computer.
All of your media should be in iTunes already.
If it is not and was purchased from iTunes, right click on the device and select Transfer Purchases.
If the media is not in iTunes and was not purchased from iTunes, how did you get it on the device in the first place?
