Why can't I update my iphone 5 to the new ios 7?

First of all, I would get an error message saying no updates can be found, then it found it and went through all the prep to download the new operating system only to tell me that it was unavailable at this time, I thought it was suppose to be available today for iphones? What is going on?

With everyone and their iDogs trying to update at the same time, things are gonna be a bit bumpy off the bat trying to update and/or activate.

I saw this post at about 2:05 becasue I had the same problem. I just tried it again and now the update is downloading! just wait it out. I had to wait about 3.5 hours.

Everything is Sorted!
The release of iTunes 11.0.2 and iOS 6.1.2 for my iPhone 4, seems to have sorted everything. I can now sync music, films and photos between my MacBook and my phone.
I was dubious about blindly doing the updates but decided they couldn't really mess up any further functionality so I went for it and it's sorted now.
Look in to, and take the gamble, it's up to you.

Yes, yes, yes... I've gone through all the common sense trouble shoots. Would't be here asking questions if that answers existed on the net. Sorry if I sound a bit edgey, but I've had nothing but issues with every update since IOS 7. Clearly there's nothing that can be done about this. and this is the final nail in the coffin to try to make me buy an Iphone 5.

You need to update iTunes to 11.1 on your PC

I believed it to be that my car that was the problem; but my sister has the same update on her iphone and was able to connect to my car no problem. please help!!!

If you are experiencing difficulties with the connection between your stereo and device, disconnect the device, and then power cycle the stereo and your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. When the Home screen reappears, reconnect your device. If you cannot power cycle the stereo, turn the car off and then back on to allow the stereo to power off.

Tap Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if fixed. If not, Restore Firmware with iTunes on computer. See if fixed. If not, all iPhone 4S have Warranty, make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution.
