Why can't I upload songs into my iPhone 4?

My iPhone 4 is running on iOS 7.0.4
Everything is authorized for my phone and the computer to do transfers, and signed in, and updated... yada yada yada.
I'm trying to upload my mp3s into my phone via iTunes(11.1.3.8). After trying to sync my entire music library, the process leaves me on step 4 of 4. I'm only uploading 1 song. After 4 minutes... NOTHING!
Can anyone help me?

De-sync your library to remove all the music. Then reset the phone: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go. Reboot your computer and try syncing again.

Try syncing the apps from your iPhone to your computer then sync the music using iTunes.

Why can't I import songs into my iTunes?

Accidentally deleted all of my music for iTunes and stupidily emptied the trash but whatever, that's why Time Machine is great.
Simply put, got ALL my songs back from Time Machine and yet, iTunes seems to ignore anything I ask it to do. Can't drag and drop, can't "Add to library" (Command+O). No dialog box comes up or anything. Tried moving full folders and single song files and nothing happens whatsoever. Tried googling this, and everything is for Windows. I don't use my Mac all to often but my music is a must. I need my metal.

Any ideas? Because this is weird. I've already been complaining that you can't simply drag and drop crap into an iPhone and now THIS? What's wrong with Apple? I'm seriously debating a virus filled world or stick with constant irritants like this crap. I mean c'mon. My music is RIGHT there, why can't I just drag them into iTunes? Why? They were all there JUST a couple hours ago, so it can't be an issue of whether I'm using MP3 or whatever... Right? Ugh..

Yes, it was all there, but as I said. iTunes acts like it isn't, and we're talking about thousands upon thousands of songs sitting in their respective folders.
I had talked to my brother in law and he did mention something about iTunes having it's custom file that saves the information for everything it has into one, and to find that one if possible. But how can I locate it if using Time Machine to restore all of my music did nothing? I restored any iTunes related (all in one folder honestly), so what's the deal?
Sorry for the very late reply, this is still a very concerning issue that needs to be desperately resolved, I have just been very busy.

Have you restarted the iPad - is that what you mean? Have you quit and then restarted the app? Quit the app, and restart the iPad. It's worth a try.
Double tap the home button and your recent apps will appear at the bottom. Hold down on the Notes app icon until it begins to wiggle. Then tap the minus sign to quit the app. Then tap the screen. Now restart the iPad.
Carolyn explained this above (restart) but here it is again....
Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to shut off. Hold down on the sleep button until the Apple logos appears then let go of the button and the iPad will restart. See if that helps.

Much like the act of putting your old chumbawumba cd in a box in the attic to make space on your shelf for newer and better music, you should cleanse your iphone of old music files regularly. Songs aren't gone forever, you can still dust them off and listen to them later if the mood strikes.
Open settings click general>usage>storage>music>edit
Then delete all locally stored music
If your in the mood you can always download that catchy "I get knocked down, but I get up again... You ain't ever gonna keep me down" track and rock out like its 1998 (or whenever that **** song came out)

Frustrating yes, I know. I could not upload my first iPhone 4 video (that I transfered to MacBookAir) to FB. FB kept telling me it was not in the correct format & it recommended it be in MP4 and max size is 25MB. The video, I understand, needs to be compressed first so I used "Smart Converter" a free app I found at the App Store (with the most positive ratings) to convert it first, THEN upload it and it was successful. I hope this works for you too.

Ah...that was introduced with iOS 5.0. Music App>Songs/Albums...swipe left-to-right across the song/album...hit "delete".

I have about 50 playlists that I created as playlists and have always been able to add songs to as I purchased them. The lists were originally created as regular playlists. Then, one day I opened up iTunes and all the existing playlists I had created as playlists, and has always added songs to, had the "gear" symbols and acted like genius playlists. There's a glitch with the app. All you can do is wait for it to resolve. You can access facebook via safari in the meantime if you need to.

I can't import any songs into iTunes.

I can't import any songs into iTunes. I can drag and drop but nothing will happen. Songs show up when a search is done but songs cannot be played or located in iTunes. I think this has something to do with the recent update because I have songs imported into iTunes from December.

I found the problem. I have VMware fusion that is hosting Window XP on the iMac. When the fusion is running the CD player is not seen in OS. By quitting Fusion I can now insert a CD and the disk icon appears on the OS screen. Now I can bring up iTunes and import the audio and continue as before. The one exception is I cannot bring in a photo of the album cover as before I have to drag the photo out of iPhoto and onto the desk top. Then I can drag it into the artwork patch in the iTunes/ info window.

in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
