Why can't I use my ipod classic as an external hard disk for my ipad?

Seems a no brainer to me that I should be able to use an ipod as an external hard drive for my ipad. Hec, it's all apple but apparently not.
Does anyone have a solution? if not, come on Apple, support your own products! I thought compatibility and interconnectivity were bywords for apple products.

Appearing as an external hard drive was never a feature of any iPhone model or iOS version. The only way your older phones could do this is if they are jailbroken.
I'm just trying to backup my photo's and videos onto my own hard drive...now I can't. *****!

Older ipod and a new windows laptop...why can't I use my ipod on it?

I have an old ipod, version 3.1.1 with the clickwheel and have always downloaded song on my mac. i just purchased a new pc laptop and tried to hook up my ipod but it said it won't work on a pc. is it because its so old?

Why can't i use tab to shift the funcitons in tool palette?

i used LabVIEW6.1 before last week, and i'm familiar with the function that i can use Tab keys to shift the functions in Tool palette, such as Operate Value, Position/Size/Select, Edit Text, Connect Wire, etc. it's quick. but now the Tab keys doesn't work well after i'm trying the LabVIEW8.0 trial version. i need move mouse to fit position of fit function. it troubles me. i can't find out how to keep the former setting. is here anyone can help me?

If your iPod touch battery has been completely consumed, you may need to connect it to power for several minutes before you will see the charging screen:
If you see this screen, it means your battery is really low. Plug in your device and let it charge for at least 10 minutes before using it. After that, you can use your device while it continues to charge.
If your device has turned off, you might see a black screen for a few minutes even after you plug it in. Let it charge until it turns on, or until it's fully charged.

How do i fix my issue: Apple Logo flashes on and off after iphone battery died during IOS update?

I've tried the methods I've seen on youtube and other iphone tech help sites but I am still having the same problem. Today while updating to IOS 7 my iphone 4 battery died and I didnt have a charger, now that I am home an I put in on the charger I notice the apple logo just flashes on and off. I've tried to restores using the DFU mode with the home and power button but that only seem to stop the logo from flashing and even then the iphone still isnt recognised by the pc to restore, Is there any other way i can go about fixing this problem!!!!

You can try the steps recommended in the User Guide. If they don't work bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

Why can't I use an iPod touch (3) on a Powerbook G4?

My wife uses my old Powerbook G4 which has iTunes 4.7.8 installed. She now wants to use my old iPod Touch (3rd generation) but can't get iTunes to see the iPod, although it does show under USB in System Profiler.
I have worked my way through the relevant Apple support pages on non-recognition of the iPod and even re-installed the old iTunes but no go.

No. iOS 4.2.1 and later requires iTunes 10.X and 5.1.1 requires iTunes 10.5.
OSX 10.4.11 only allows iTunes 9.X
If your Mac meets these requirements you can update to 10.5.8

Downgrading the iOS of the iPod to 4.1, which is supported by 10.4.11 is not supported by Apple.

Why can't I sync my ipod after update

After doing the latest update, my ipod, iPad and iPhone is no longer recognised in iTunes. None of the devices I have are connecting or showing in connected devices box, it is all greyed out. I have run the device test on iTunes but it says there is an error and it cannot find any connected devices. Please help, this update has driven me crazy as my iTunes and my devices always connected with no problems.

Since I upgraded to OSX Yosemite elements 12 stopped working and hangs all the time.

Have you tried using a magic mouse or wired mouse? Otherwise try trashing the prefs.
Quit Organizer. Launch Finder and hold down the Alt (option key) and click the Go menu; then choose Library. The Library is hidden unless the Alt key is pressed.
Then go to preferences and delete the following files:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Settings
There are also a couple relating to the Organizer:
com.Adobe.ElementsOrganizer12.plis
com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.12.0.plist
After deleting those files re-launch Elements.

I am on Windows Vista and using 3.6.24 version of Mozilla Firefox. When I upgraded to that version I got a brief message that HP Smart Printing was not compatible and then Smart Printing disappeared. Same problem here. After installing iOS 5, restoring, and syncing... when I clicked on the music icon on my iPad, none of my songs were there. All I saw was "download music from iTunes store." But, on iTunes, when I clicked on my iPad icon (then Music), it showed that all of my songs were synced!
So, this is what worked for me, I rebooted my iPad.
I turned off my iPad by holding down the sleep button for about 5 seconds, then the "Slide to power off" came up, and I powered off my iPad.
Then, I started it up again, and clicked on the music icon on my iPad, and now all of my synced music showed up.
I hope this helps some of you guys out there.
