Why can't I use my old apps that I purchased on my ipad 1?
I don't understand why I can't use my old apps that "I" paid for. They all worked fine until I can no longer update my ipad. When you purchase software for your computer you can keep using it until your computer dies. Doesn't seem quite right that suddenly your apps are all gone and you can no longer use them.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I have the Ipad 1 which is sufficient for me with the Apps I "had" now each time I update and sync I have fewer and fewer apps that actually work. I think at least I should have the last updated version of the app.
Don't update....
Some of these apps may be fixed to be backward compatible. Until then you will lose apps if you allow updates on the computer and sync to iPad.

Five months ago, I bought a new iMac. It took weeks to transfer or install my old software onto this new computer (because the new iMacs no longer have disc drives and most of the original software was installed from discs). Finally I got it to the point where everything works OK. Except for inDesign CS5. I ended up having to buy an external disc drive so I could see if I installed the software using the original disc it would work.
Still -- when I attempt to open a new inDesign document, I get the endless spinning wheel. When I attempt to open a document that was created in CS5, I get a message saying that I will need additional plugins and that the only way I can open this document is if I subscribe to CS6 by paying the Adobe monthly fee for the rest of my life.
So, I give up -- because I figure this is a dictatorship of the corporations and Apple has conspired with Adobe to trick people into buying new computers while telling them that they will be able to use them with the old software, when in fact they will be forced to buy the new Adobe monthly subscription (whether you can afford it or not).
I give up on trying to work on my new Apple computer and I re-install the old inDesign CS5 software on my old computer (where I had deactivated CS5). But again, same message when I attempt to open documents that were created in inDesign CS5 and never opened by any version other than CS5: You cannot open this document without the necessary plugins, which can only be had by subscribing to the monthly fee to get CS6.
So, now this is beyond the normal capitalist system of corporate illegal activity. This is outright theft. Even in third world countries, corporations give you something for your money.Can't help with the error, but you don't need discs to install CS5, you can just download the trial and use your serial number to activate.

Exporting to Facebook - why can't I use the old plug-in?
It's nice that iPhoto '09 tried to help us with the Facebook exporter built-in. But why couldn't they make it useful? Why can't I tag people before I upload them? Why can't I upload photos to an existing album? I wouldn't mind so much, but they seemed to have disabled the existing (working) plug-in that was available. So now I have to export the pictures to my desktop and upload them through Facebook. Hmm...doesn't seem too user-friendly.

The print permission might not be available for that book. In Library mode, right click on the book and select Item Info. Verify whether book had print permission.
These permissions are set at the server level by the distributor. -
i can't seem to install some apps that i downloaded for my iPad from my Mac. i have tried syncing them but they still don't appear on the pad. how do i go about this?

Do you have restrictions set on the iPad? Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing apps>Off or Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content?
Are you sure that the Apps are selected to sync from the Mac to the iPad?
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on Install next to the apps that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Apps Heading to select it
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you do not see the sidebar in iTunes 11 - go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu. -

These are the general things that you can try to get your apps to work again. But the first thing you can try is to download any free app - that seems to reset something. See if your apps will work after that. If not try these things listed.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If none of these things work, you may have to delete the app and install it again. To delete the app, tap and hold down on the app icon until it wiggles. Then tap the X that appears on the icon to delete it. Restart your iPad as described above and download the app again. -

Ach! Why can't I use my old logic (4.0) plug-ins!
Hi everyone- I need some serious assistance!
As much as I love the new logic, (7.1) and the slammin OSX environment it comes with, all the files that I created in Logic 4 with my 8/8/220 I/O lose all the great plugins as soon as I open them in 7.1 and switch them to the coreaudio interface.
Needless to say, the new files I create just don't sound as good either...
Anyone know how I can use the old plugins with the new logic? Have to say that the new plugins just can't compare!

Also, you could look into a UAD-1 card, and have the best software compressors on the market today (IMHO).
Check with the manufacturers of your VST's, and if you're a registered owner, many of them offer the Audio Unit version as a free update, or at minimal cost. -
Why can't i use my itouch apps?
So my itouch was left in the car and got heated up, and since then none of the apps ive download work. All the apps that come standard like music, mail, safari and photos all work perfect, and the ipod searchs perfect, but when i go to downloaded apps like facebook or angry bird they open for a second and close.
Did you already try to reset the device by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again? If this does not help, set it up "as new device" How to back up your data and set up as a new device

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.
