Very hard to guess. What happens when you try, exactly? (Exactly includes all error messages in full, please).

  • Why can't I use the Flash executable on my computer to see Flash in FF?

I was able to get the Flash player installed on my work computer (I do not have admin rights). It allows me to see Flash in IE8, but I can't get FF8 to use it.
I realize there is a plug-in, but isn't there also the opportunity to use installed applications to run programs?

There are two different versions of Flash for Windows, the '''''ActiveX''''' version for IE and the '''Plugin''' version used by Firefox and most other browsers.

  • Why can't I open email pdf ad administrator, while computer user can?

I can't ope email pdf file as administrator, while computer user can?

When I opened outlook yesterday, there was a 7 mb pdf I needed to review. I moved my cursor over the pdf. A description window opened detailing the pdf specs. However, Double clicking did not open the pdf. Right clicking did not open a drop down options window. I had the file sent to me three times under different names but the pdf would not open. Opening up older emails I discovered that I could no longer open any pdf from outlook.
You can go to top highlight attachment and then save attachment.
But what changed and how to I change it back to be able to open pdf from outlook when reviewing email.

  • HT1539 why can't i use the cloud to send this to my iPhone?

digital copies of movies.... why do some send via cloud and others don't...

The options you refer to work differently than the normal transitions and effects.
Select any portion of a clip (not the whole clip) - either in the middle, end or beginning, or other portion - by clicking and dragging across the clip so that it is highlighted with a yellow border (this must be done in your Project, not the Event). Set the border so that it covers the duration of the effect you wish to apply.
Now from the Clip menu item select the appropriate fade. If your highlighted selection is not at the start or end of the clip, Movie will automatically split the clip at both ends of your selection and will apply the effect as well as a cross dissolve transition at each end. If you are applying the effect to just the start or end of the clip, iMovie will split it at the appropriate position and apply the effect and transition.
The effect is meant to provide a colour change (b&w, sepia or dream) within the clip, or at the beginning or end of the clip. It's not designed to provide a normal transition between 2 adjoining but different clips.

  • Can't uncheck "use default alerts only on this computer" 10.8

    Hi,
I am using up to date Mountain Lion up to date and also OSX server.
I am using the calendar linked to my gmail account.
However, under Preferences | Alerts the checkbox is greyed out and I can not uncheck it.
Is there anyway to correct this?

If you are only receiving alerts on your desktop, but not your other devices (for you gmail account), you need to go to the other devices and turn on alerts.  It may appear that alerts are turned on, but they may not be.
    Example on phone
    Settings< Mail Contacts Calendars
Scroll down all the way to the end and click on "Defaut Alert Times". I set mine for 15 min.
Now it works and syncs with both devices.
    I hope this helps~!

Why can't i use trial version to convert files to word?

Symptom: I downloaded the trial of Acrobat Pro. But when I try to create a PDF or export a PDF, by using the Convert or Export button, I am asked to subscribe.
Cause: You are mixing up two different products. Adobe Reader is the free PDF reader you had before and still have. Acrobat Pro is a DIFFERENT product and doesn't even have the Convert or Export buttons you are using (so, we can tell for sure you aren't actually using the demo you downloaded).
Solution: quit Adobe Reader. Start Acrobat Pro (from START in Windows, or from Applications on Mac OS). You will see a product similar to Adobe Reader but able to do much more. Open PDF files with File > Open, NOT a double click. To export to other formats, use File > Save as... various options.

  • Why can't I download a pdf file using internet explorer as my browser.I can download pdfs using fire

Why can't I download a pdf file using internet explorer as my browser. I can download pdfs using firefox.

    Gilad D,
    Thanks for the support.
I would guess the plugin is enabled since when I use Foxfire as my browser, all pdfs download and are readable. (just doesn’t happen when I use IE as my browser, I get a blank screen with a small “x” in the upper left corner)
I will try your proposed solution.

    g -
I was able to fix the problem with some help from Apple. Whenever I last downloaded Reader, I apparently didn’t complete the process by accepting the Reader contract. I was able to go right to that point in the process and complete the installation. The messages that I needed Reader but it was already installed were quite confusing. It would have been nice if the Adobe installation process that I was re-trying this morning had been able to detect a partial installation. The Troubleshooting page almost had me doing some ridiculous things that wouldn’t have helped.

  • Why can't IOS users create PDF files anymore?

WHy can I no longer create PDF documents from my IPad?  I used to be able to use this feature, now it is gone!  Why can't IOS users access this feature?

    Hi Timo,
The Create PDF feature is part of Adobe PDF Pack (the paid subscription service) and is used to convert a non-PDF file format to PDF.
I see that the "Getting Started" PDF document is opened in the screenshot above.  You cannot convert a PDF document to a PDF document.
The error message is trying to tell you that you need to open the "supported format" (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF) then tap Create PDF to convert it to a PDF document.
Please take a look at the following document about Adobe PDF Pack (which also includes Export PDF).
    Adobe PDF Pack verwenden
Do you actually want to covert a document to PDF using Create PDF?   If not, please let us know what you are trying to do so that we can assist you.  Thank you.

  • I can no longer read my bank statements. I believe they are using a PDF to display this information.

I can no longer read my bank statements. I believe they are using a PDF to display this information. If I go to chrome it will open the bank statements but Firefox no longer open these flies. Why??????

It's very unusual to get no results for PDF in the Application preferences list. It's possible that the file which stores those preferences might have become corrupted. Perhaps it would be best to rename or delete the file and let Firefox re-create it.
    Here's how:
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Switch back to Firefox and Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''mimeTypes.rdf''' to something like mimeTypes.old
Restart Firefox. After things setting down, check the Application preferences again to see whether PDF is listed and then set the drop-down on the right side to the desired action.
orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Applications
    Does that work any better?
