Why can't I use several apps anymore since update to iOS8?

It really harasses me not being able to use several apps on my iPad anymore since I updated to iOS8. I paid for some of them not to long ago!!! Why doesn't Apple warn people that some apps will not work anymore when you update? I have already contacted the developers but they told me, that Apple has changed such a lot, that it would take them too much time to make their apps compatible.

Apple should offer the ability to downgrade the device back to the previous version of iOS for people in your situation.
I learned the hard way, long ago: don't upgrade unless you HAVE TO. It's almost always best to never update more than one major version past the one your Mac or i-device came with. It will become slow and laggy, as the newer systems are made to run best on newer hardware. Plus you get to deal with apps breaking, since Apple has a very small commitment, if any, to backwards compatibility.
I've had Apple render all my software obsolete and non-functional twice and major portions of it one more time, during the 68000-PPC-Intel-32bit-64bit transitions. I always knew it would happen with iOS eventually, as well.
Sadly many great developers and their great apps were killed off by these transitions since they were smaller devs who could not justify redoing a niche product that didn't pay their bills well enough. It's part of life, like when a great restaurant goes away. Nothing lasts forever.
My advice is that you buy a used device with the iOS version you prefer. I still have iOS 6 on my iPad because it does everything I want, and who knows if these apps will still work on newer versions, or if the iPad will become unusably laggy. Besides, I greatly prefer the look-and-feel of iOS 6 with its gray UI and easy-on-the-eyes, subdued tonality. I cannot stand the stark, bland, oppressive whiteness of iOS 7–8. To each their own.

Does the ManyCam option appear in other apps ?
Messages for instance or Photo Booth ?
In Messages you will have to go to the Preferences > Video section and the camera drop down (below the pic)
In Photo Booth there are no Preferences as such and you use the Camera Menu. (when you have two cameras)
One reason for not seeing the Many Cam is you have not restarted the computer since installing it.

Hi I just bought an IPAD4 days ago, however I found I can not use the App store. Every time I click App store, it shows the blank page of the 'purchased', and all the other icons on this page did not work. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks.

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Why can't one use the apps for the ipad on one's iMac?

how come one cannot actually use the apps that one purchases (or gets for free) on one's desktop computer? For instance, I just paid for and downloaded a few apps for my iPad (using iTunes of course) but my wife has my iPad and she is out-of-town for a few days. Now I gotta wait (to use them & check them out) by waiting for her to get back, .... then i gotta sync it. Bah, ... humbug.

i kinda knew the answer to that already... i am just like a kid at christmas, ... waiting, ... waiting.... waiting until my wife comes home and then i will say, ... "oh, it is so great to see you, i missed you" then give her a hug and a kiss and then say "where's the iPad, dear?".

I have a very simple web page that uploads pictures (.jpg or .gif) and when I updated my iPAD to IOS8 this morning the web page times out for any upload.
My web Page uses a very old HTML form like this :

Why can't I use the radio anymore on my iPad

I updated my iPad last week to iOS 7 and I've been using the radio all week and all of the suddenly I can't use it today why has this happened ?

Understand about the Wifi - but does the wifi you are connecting to actually connected to the internet? The bars just indicate that your device can connect to the wifi router - does not indicate internet connectivity.
BTW - if you are responding to this thread from your iPad just ignore my suggestion.
Then I would try the reboot that was suggested above.

of course I am logged in with the same id of me on both my devices. and when I go to app store, and then purchased apps, I only am able to see the other applications but not the one that I bought some hours ago. This happening now for the second time with me. the first time I bought one app using my iphone and then couldn't find it through ipad, and now it is the same reversely.

In the old iOS you could hold down on an app and manually close it. My Safari is frozen on my iPad and I can no longer manually close it like before with IOS7. How can I do this without having to hard reset the iPad?

Why can't I use certain filters anymore in cs3?

When I try to use a filter called Topaz adjust I get a message that says "Cannot complete the topaz adjust command because Cannot load enhancement DLL" What does that mean? I used to be cable to use it.

It means that something is wrong with the install of the plugin, or that the OS changed since the plugin was written and the plugin needs to be updated (security changes have altered DLL loading somewhat).

Why can't I use static IP anymore?

I just set up a new intel Mini as part of my media center. I want to do like the other Macs on my network -- use static IP addresses and port forwarding to allow vnc connections.
I'm connected via ethernet. I get dhcp just fine. But when I take the dhcp address, or, for that matter, the next static IP in line, I lose all connectivity to the internet. I've verified that my dns settings are correct.
This is driving me crazy. For example, 192.168.1.106 is what it grabs from dhcp, and it works just fine. If I switch to manual and set if for the exact same thing, it goes offline and won't come back until I switch it back to dhcp.
Any ideas? I've got an XP box and two G5's (Tiger) all configured with staticIP/port forwarding, and they work just fine.

Don't forget that there are many "pieces" to internet access that must all be set to make manual IP selection work, namely:
1) Your IP address
2) The addresses of your DNS servers
3) The default route via which packets leave your network ("router" in Network->TCP/IP)
4) Your subnet mask
As mentioned above you also need to assign an address from outside the DHCP pool that is on the same subnet, as at least some routers will refuse to route traffic that seems to originate from IP addresses that fall within the DHCP pool over which it has control if it did not yet assign that IP address to a client.

Why can't I use FaceTime or messaging since downloading the ios7

SInce downloading the ios7 operating system onto my ipad2' I cannot get FaceTime or messaging.

Go to Settings/Messages & Facetime to make sure Apple ID information was not changed.

Several Apps crash since update

Hi,
Since I downloaded an update, most of my appps crash.....any ideas to fix this? Has been very stable for a year +....
Console messages end like this:
truncated or malformed library: /System/Library/Printers/Libraries/libLW8Utils.dylib (file is empty)
I have downloaded the combo update (10.3.9) and used Pacifist to help, but still get the same console message.....

But things are worse now...I used Pacifist and now when I log in all I get is the Blue screen....My finder is not running....Could you Email me the file that is 52K? I will hopefully get things up and running....I wonder if it has something to do with my zif....
