Why can't I use the CS5 inDesign that I purchased?

Five months ago, I bought a new iMac. It took weeks to transfer or install my old software onto this new computer (because the new iMacs no longer have disc drives and most of the original software was installed from discs). Finally I got it to the point where everything works OK. Except for inDesign CS5. I ended up having to buy an external disc drive so I could see if I installed the software using the original disc it would work.
Still -- when I attempt to open a new inDesign document, I get the endless spinning wheel. When I attempt to open a document that was created in CS5, I get a message saying that I will need additional plugins and that the only way I can open this document is if I subscribe to CS6 by paying the Adobe monthly fee for the rest of my life.
So, I give up -- because I figure this is a dictatorship of the corporations and Apple has conspired with Adobe to trick people into buying new computers while telling them that they will be able to use them with the old software, when in fact they will be forced to buy the new Adobe monthly subscription (whether you can afford it or not).
I give up on trying to work on my new Apple computer and I re-install the old inDesign CS5 software on my old computer (where I had deactivated CS5). But again, same message when I attempt to open documents that were created in inDesign CS5 and never opened by any version other than CS5: You cannot open this document without the necessary plugins, which can only be had by subscribing to the monthly fee to get CS6.
So, now this is beyond the normal capitalist system of corporate illegal activity. This is outright theft. Even in third world countries, corporations give you something for your money.

Can't help with the error, but you don't need discs to install CS5, you can just download the trial and use your serial number to activate.

The print permission might not be available for that book. In Library mode, right click on the book and select Item Info. Verify whether book had print permission.
These permissions are set at the server level by the distributor.

Why can't I use my old apps that I purchased on my ipad 1?

I don't understand why I can't use my old apps that "I" paid for. They all worked fine until I can no longer update my ipad. When you purchase software for your computer you can keep using it until your computer dies. Doesn't seem quite right that suddenly your apps are all gone and you can no longer use them.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I have the Ipad 1 which is sufficient for me with the Apps I "had" now each time I update and sync I have fewer and fewer apps that actually work. I think at least I should have the last updated version of the app.

Some of these apps may be fixed to be backward compatible. Until then you will lose apps if you allow updates on the computer and sync to iPad.

Why can't I use the Basic brush tool?

I'm learning the ropes of drawing in Illustrator and I've fallen at the first hurdle. Why can't I use the Basic brush tool? Whenever I select the brush tool and use the 'Basic' brush type, the cursor turns into a hashed circle indicating I can't draw. If I load other brushes, I can draw with other brush types, but I can't use the Basic one. If I select the Basic brush when I have other brushes loaded and try to draw with it, it always defaults to a different brush! I don't understand why.
On a related matter, I'm also having trouble changing brush size. I know that using the [ and ] keys changes brush size, but I have no idea what the values are. If I try this in Photoshop, I can see the brush size in the Options bar, but in Illustrator it doesn't appear anywhere! Not in the Brushes palette, the Stroke palette or the Appearance palette. Where can I see the brush size?

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

I've been searching for a solution to my iMessage login problem for months and tried everything from those frustrating links and all the tips from other users.
Here is what finally worked:
1) Settings > Privacy > Location Services > On
2) Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically > On
3) Reboot device until Apple logo appears
4) Settings > Messages > Sign In

why can't i use the radio on my nano 7g with bluetooth. i wanted to use wireless feature at work but i only use the radio at work , so i bought bluetooth stereo headphones by plantronics, got the backbeat 903, at wal-mart . got home got it all set up and works fine but not for radio , i'm so dissaponted and am thinking i might take them back and continue using the wire ware , but then again i like listening to my podcast while doing dishes and chores at home so the bluetooth would be better for that .

i have sent a feedback form to apple about this problem . i hope that they work on a sulotion for it .

Because delivery will be having header level output and item level output. So if u try to print through main screen then system will not know whether it is header related or item related. That is the reason it is only print output at header level or item level but not in main screen.
I think u may have doubt like how billin will be issued output through Main screen. Because for billing both header and item level data are same..

It is up to the app developer to decide if the app should work in landscape mode or not. This is also true on Android phones, by the way.

Exporting to Facebook - why can't I use the old plug-in?

It's nice that iPhoto '09 tried to help us with the Facebook exporter built-in. But why couldn't they make it useful? Why can't I tag people before I upload them? Why can't I upload photos to an existing album? I wouldn't mind so much, but they seemed to have disabled the existing (working) plug-in that was available. So now I have to export the pictures to my desktop and upload them through Facebook. Hmm...doesn't seem too user-friendly.
