Why can't I verify an 'eu' email address ?

I have an 'eu' email adress ([email protected]) from which I would like to send emails, but BT Yahoo will not let me verify it, despite me following the '553' procedure correctly.
My other '.co.uk' addresses are no problem, but it doesn't seem to like 'eu' ones'.
Does anyone know a way round this please?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I thought it had been sent at first, and I noticed a red note asking me to 'Check [email protected] to verify that you own this address.' but I did not receive a verification email, despite having asked for it to be resent!
This just tells me "Unable to send verification email. Please try again" which doesn't help at all of course.
Strangely though I have received emails to by default BT email account telling me that the new 'eu' address has been added to my account.
I am 100% sure I have entered the details correctly though.
I really would like to get this one sorted!
Hi again.
Have a look through my shortcuts option 0e - it might have some extra details.
However - non receipt of the verification email means you can't add it. It might have ended up in a spam folder, or maybe your domain supplier has blocked it or even deleted it. Are you able to set anti-spam levels on your domain email supplier control area ?
Another thing to try is to try to add the .eu email account to say a sub account if you've got one, to see if that helps.

  • Why can't I cut and paste email addresses when sending documents?

Why can't I cut and paste email addresses when sending files? I have to type them in each time...And it doesn't remember them for the future, as SendNow did.
Also, it seems that the message I type in is not kept, as it was with SendNow?
    Thanks!

    Hi drlaura,
You're correct on both counts--these features work differently Adobe Send than they do in Adobe SendNow.
If you're sending files from Adobe Reader, you can access your local Address Book, which should make entering email addresses easier. Please see: I’m trying to send a file from Adobe Reader, but I can’t access my computer’s address book to find my contacts. Why not?
Please let us know how it goes.

  • HT1918 Why can't I use my icloud email address for my iTunes account

Tired of the cox communications inability to imap emails, going to dump it completely want to use the icloud email address I have, why can't I change my apple id to that email address

"Well, then I want to be able to merge that one and the one my purchases are on..."
This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
    I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.
    Best wishes -

  • Why can't I use my iCloud Email Address as my Apple ID?

Why won't Apple allow us to use their own @icloud.com domain for an Apple ID. This has upset me since the inception of MobileMe; it makes perfect sense that many people would prefer to use their iCloud email address as there Apple ID. We've all had MobileMe since day one, which is now iCloud; it's been several years, and I still can't do it. Having to frequently log in with an individual Apple ID & Individual iCloud account creates so much confusion, especially with my wife and parents.
I know this is an age old complaint, but it doesn't make it any less relevant. Is there a special way to change my existing Apple ID to my existing iCloud email address? If not, then why won't Apple allow it?
Please don't refer me to this article Change your Apple ID.

submit feedback about this so hopefully it gets changed https://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html

  • HT5621 Why can't I use my iCloud email address as an Apple ID?

I am totally bewildered! I have taken the plunge to leave Gmail, my primary email address and move to iCloud. The first thing I tried to do, was change my Apple ID email address. To my astonishment, while it allows gmail.com, it does not allow its own icloud.com. This means that I either, have to keep on with gmail as my primary address or create another one eg sky.com. What is going on? I simply want to migrate from gmail to icloud and Apple trip me up at the first fence. Any idea, what I can do? Why won't Apple, accept it's own email address?

When you start from scratch you can create an @icloud.com address and use it as your ID, but though it seems illogical you can't do what you ask. I don't know whether this is a technical issue.
However, I would suggest that having your published email address as your login is poor security. This used to be the case with MobileMe and there were quite a number of complaints from people who had found themselves locked out of their account because some idiot had tried to sign into their account several times without knowing the password. They then had to change the password in the ID and all their devices, and a couple of weeks later it would happen again.
This sort of nonsense sometimes arose through mis-typing, and sometimes because some idiot would become convinced that he owned the address and would keep trying to log in with it.
Of course, someone who knew your email address and felt malicious could render your account useless by keeping on doing this. I know all this sounds a bit extreme, and it is moderately unlikely, but these things do happen.
For best security, I would suggest creating a new free address somewhere with a garbage username which can't be guessed and is unlikely to be arrived at by accident. I know it's less convenient that logging in with your @icloud.com address, but you might like to think about the security issue here.

  • Why can't you use your iCloud email address for your Apple ID?

Why can't an iCloud.com email address be used to create an Apple ID?  Is iCloud email not to be used as a primary email?

You can if you create an new Apple ID at the time you create the iCloud account, and choose to create a new @icloud.com email address as your primary email address when creating the ID.  See Imp68's post here for an example of how you would do this on a Mac: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22283348#22283348.
You could not use your existing @icloud.com email address as it is already an alias for your existing iCloud ID; you would have to create a new one.

  • Why can't I change the alternate email address on my Apple ID account. It doesn't belong to anyone in my home?

I can't change my Apple ID alternate email address it's greyed out. Why?

If you have 'Find My iPad' activated on the iPad it will cause this problem. You will have to contact Support for help. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'More Products and Services', then 'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password' and click 'Continue'.

  • Why can I not drag-and-drop email addresses into Address Book?

I've used today the email client and the email address autocompletion feature figured out nicely the email addresses of the recipients I wanted to send the email to. So far so good. However, when I've selected all addresses in the To line, I would have liked to be able to drag-and-drop them into the Address Book application, automatically have new entries created there and why not a new group too?

No, that is not possible. However, [Mail Scripts|http://homepage.mac.com/aamann/Mail_Scripts.html] has a script to add every address to the address book, allowing you to pick which ones go to which group and to add a new group, if you want.

  • Why can't I reply with POP email address?

    Hello, I have a problem.
I have just set up a new POP account and I also have a .mac account. My POP account is my work email so ideally it would be handy if when somebody emails my work account, when I reply, I reply with my work email address as opposed to my @mac address. Any ideas? Have I set it up wrong? Also, is there any way in which I can direct my POP emails into a specific folder?
I am a new Mac user, have been using Windows for years (have now seen the light!!)

    Hello Vonnie.
When replying to or forwarding a message received by a particular account, the account the message was received by should be the default sending account and email address for the message.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for the POP work account, what is the email address entered in the Email Address field for the account?
When opening "In" in the mailboxes drawer by selecting the black triangle beside it pointing it down will reveal the account named Inbox mailbox for each account. When selecting the account named Inbox mailbox for your POP work account will reveal messages received by that account only in the message list. When selecting "In" in the mailboxes drawer reveals a "blended" Inbox mailbox for all accounts in the message list.
The same applies under Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk (if you have Junk Mail set to automatic) in the mailboxes drawer.
You can utilize user created "On My Mac" mailboxes which are stored locally on the hard drive and create a rule or multiple rules in Mail to sort received messages to user created "On My Mac" mailboxes by category.
To create a mailbox, at the menu bar go to Mailbox and select New Mailbox. The default location is "On My Mac" and if you have a .Mac or IMAP type account, you can also create server stored mailboxes.
Enter a name for the mailbox and when finished, select OK. The user created mailbox will be available in the Mailboxes drawer. It will appear as a folder but is actually a mailbox. You can nest mailboxes within other mailboxes if desired. You can manually move a received or sent message from an account's Inbox or Sent mailbox to a user created mailbox or as previously provided, create a rule to automatically transfer received messages to a designated created mailbox by category.

  • Why can't I change my rescue email address for my apple ID account?

The email address I would like to use as my current rescue email address used to be my alternative email address.  I switched my alternate email address, but it still won't let me set it as my current rescue email address.  It is an icloud account.  When I did the same thing with my gmail account (took it off the alternate and changed it to the rescue) it worked.  Is it just the icloud account that doesn't work? My gmail acccount used to be an alternate address too.

  • I have verified my new email address as my Apple ID but my IOS devices keep asking me to sign in to my previous email/Apple ID but have no access to it.  How can I stop or change this?

I have verified my new email address as my Apple ID but my IOS devices keep asking me to sign in to my previous email/Apple ID but have no access to it.  How can I stop or change this?

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
