Thanks for any help you can give.

You're not doing anything wrong; it would appear the site has been designed to work only with Windoze and IE, rather than being standards-compliant and browser-neutral. Try emailing the webmaster, Rina Shook ([email protected]) or call your local school district offices and complain to them. They should know better, and since your tax dollars are paying for their ineptitude, you shouldn't let them get away with this.

  • Can you block webpages with safari

i was wondering if there was a way to block certain webpages with safari, i kno that you can make it so that a user can only view certain webpages, but that would mean blocking everything but the page that i dont want viewed.

Hi yes you can but you need to have the administrator account and you can only specify pages for user accounts. If this is the case then:
In 'safari' go to 'preferences' and 'secuirty' tab. Click 'Enable parental controls'. However this only works in Safari. If you want to stop people viewing pages in other browsers you'll need to set-up on that application or prevent them from accessing it all together in System Preferences.
    Hope this works

  • Others can view my webpage in Safari, but I cannot

I have my own personal website www.naturalyoga.com which was created on WordPress. I own the domain name. On my Mac computer, I cannot view the webpage in Safari. However, it works in Firefox. Others have tried it as well and it also works in Explorer and Firefox on PC's. Another Mac user could view the webpage in Safari on their computer.
Would this indicate a break in the code somewhere? Or is there some confirgured wrong with my Mac that is not allowing me to view it?

Hi and Welcome to Apple Discussions..
I can view it no problem so try trouble shooting. BTW, beautiful web site!
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem.

Make sure Safari is running in 32-bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.
~/Library/Cookies and move the Cookies.plist file to the Trash. Relaunch Safari.

  • I have purchased a new iMac, with Safari 5.0.5, but it won't retain bookmarks, I thought I can download a new Safari from Apple. So I deleted Safari from the application folder.

I have purchased a new iMac, with Safari 5.0.5, but it won't retain bookmarks, I thought I can download a new Safari from Apple. So I deleted Safari from the application folder.
Then I tried to download Safari from Firefox but after finish download, what I got was a dmg file, with a pkg icon (an opened box) and it can't be installed. Same with Google Chrome.
My question is: how can I download Safari? And will it retain bookmarks?

Reinstall Safari from the Optional Installs.pkg on your Mac install disc that came with your iMac. Or in your case, you use Pacifist to extract the Safari app from the .dmg file.
    To bookmark a webpage:
Go to the webpage you want to bookmark. If you use tabs, you can open multiple webpages in tabs to bookmark them as a collection.
Choose Bookmarks > Add Bookmark, or Bookmarks > “Add Bookmarks for These Tabs.”
Type a name for the bookmark or collection in the dialog that appears.
Specify where you want to keep the bookmark or collection. You can add it to the bookmarks bar, the Bookmarks menu, or to a collection if you have created any.
    Click Add.
To add a bookmark quickly, click the Add button in the toolbar, or drag the webpage’s icon from the address field to the bookmarks bar.
To see your bookmarks, choose Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks.
In the future, rather then deleting an app, come here and ask for help first. More times then not, you will save yourself time and trouble.

  • HT1338 I cannot access my Hotmail account with Safari on my MacBookAir but I can access it on my Mac/Safari and also from my PCs.  Has anyone experienced the same?  Does anyone know a fix for this?

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?

  • Can't view PDF links with Safari

When I'm online with Safari, and click on a PDF link, Safari tries to view it using QuickTime, and all I get is the first page. (I have the latest version of Adobe Reader.) If I use Safari to view a PDF file that is already on my hard drive, once again QuickTime is used, but this time it plays as a movie and flips through all the pages when I hit PLAY. Somebody help.

    Hi,
    Try changing your QuickTime preferences:
System Preferences -> QuickTime -> Advanced -> (MIME Settings...) -> Images - Still image files -> PDF Image -> Uncheck this option
That's the path for 10.4.x and it's been a while since I used Panther, but hopefully the route is still roughly the same.
    Hope that helps.

  • View PDF files with Safari

After I updated to Adobe Acrobat Reader, Build: 10.1.3.23
the following changes occured in Safari: the Preview toolbar at the bottom-center of the page has been replaced by a similar looking Acrobat Reader toolbar.

How can I uninstall Safari Plug-Ins?
How can I get back to viewing PDFs in Safari with Preview? (In Finder pdf documents are still set to be opened with Preview.)
    Thank you.

Here's my problem, running 10.7.3 and Safari.
I installed the 10.1.3 and have been running in 64 mode. If when viewing a PDF I choose File>Save As... I get a dialog saying "Export as... and upon trying to do so I get an error message that it can't export.
If, however, I choose the little floppy icon in the popup at the bottom I get a "Save a copy as..." and everything works as expected.
If I delete the Adobe plugins as specified in earlier posts, I get the Preview view of PDFs in Safari and Save As works normally.
I tend to like Adobe's viewer because it defaults to a bigger view, otherwise it's apples/oranges, er adobes.

  • Viewing TV episodes with Safari

I often watch past episodes of The Office from NBC's website.
My browser is Safari on my Mac. When I went to do that today, it
said I needed to download Flash Player 9. I clicked the link,
downloaded the player, but the website is still displaying the same
screen. Does anyone know how to make my computer register the fact
that I have downloaded the new version?

I too have been having this problem for days now. I have been
checkin this website over and over for an answer. Adobe has not
been helpful at all. The tech people give me links to articles that
have NOTHING to do with this problem. I can not find the flash
player on my computer. A search has only found the install. However
when I go to Adobe website it says the Flash 9 is installed. Can't
do much requiring flash until this is resolved.

    Hello lucky3480;
I don't know what else to do. I'm thinking of possibly returning the unit and purchasing a wireless internet card to install in the tower. Any help you can provide would be great. Even suggesting a good wireless card at this point
Well it looks like you're not having any luck at all with this AX set up but please don't give on it just yet, it's a good choice for extending your Network. Your on the right path, just going backwards and in the wrong direction. You'll learn a lot about stuff this way but may lead to other issues.
Before I continue, let me know if you have returned the AX or still need help. Here's a link to Apple's PDF about [Designing AirPort Networks|http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/Designing_AirPort_Networks10.5-Windows.pdf] Click on it to open in Safari but then save it to your desktop. Now open it from your desktop and start reading Chapter 3, page 42.
    Later...

  • Problems with Safari, Acrobat, Intel Macs, and Life Cycle Form Mgr.

    Here is my problem:
A Mac user using 10.4.10, with Acrobat Standard Ed v.7.0.9 installed,
is having to approve purchase forms through Adober Life Cycle Form Manager
through Safari 2.0.4. When trying to approve the PDF forms, it tells her
she needs to have Acrobat v.7 installed, and only shows a white page.
Went back and launched Acrobat 7.0.9, and did the "Detect and Repair"
setting to verify the Adobe PDFViewer plugin was installed.
Said it was, checked the Library/Internet Plugins folder and it was.
Launched Safari, Safari's list of plug-ins does not show it as being installed.
Trashed the Safari .plist file, relaunched Safari, same thing.
Read on the Apple site that people were experiencing similar issues,
Read on Adobe's site that for Intel Macs, should be using v. 8.01.
Downloaded the 8.01 Acrobat Reader and installed it.
re-launched Safari, success, it says the plugin, v.8.01 is installed.
Go back to Adobe Life Cycle Forms Manager, go to view a PDF,
at 100% screen size, PDF shows correctly. Zoom in on details,
PDF goes blank, will not show details. Zoom back out,
PDF goes white page, no info displayed.
    My Questions:
    1. is it an issue with Adobe Life Cycle Forms Manager and Safari on Intel Macs?
    2. Is there a way to get a proper plug in for Safari, so that Acrobat will read the PDFs
    instead of the default Preview?
    thanks in Advance

anybody running ALCFM and Acrobat 8 with an Intel Mac,
are you running into issues with approval of PDF forms?

  • ICloud will sync with iCal & contacts on Mac but not iPhone or iPad

I just got a new iMac and set up my calendar and contacts, essentially entering everything from my old exchange server (going away from the PC).  My iCloud syncs with the Mac, but every time I try with the iPhone or iPad it constantly is "searching" for the calendar and contacts, draining battery life.  I have spent the last two days doing hard resets, wiping clean and doing a system restore for my iPhone and iPad (very frustrating!!) and doing both a system recovery AND installing everything manually.  It is worth noting that iCloud worked on my iPhone and iPad BEFORE I set it up with the iMac and software is all up to date.  I have also deleted the iCal, exported a copy and rebooted the reset up the iCloud account.  Things always seem to work with the Mac, but not the mobile devices.  Will apple care even be able to help?  This is really frustrating as I have no contacts on my phone....

OKAY FOLKS, I found the answer.  I figured the only explination could be with my iCloud Account.  I tried EVERYTHING, read every discussion on this topic.  It WASN'T b/c I had an old Mobile Me account.  It WASN'T b/c I didn't have the sttings right.  I rebooted, erased data, EVERYTHING.  The only solution was to create a NEW iCloud account - I chose a new address through Apple (me.com).  Even though I already have a me.com email address and a different Apple ID I figured starting fresh was the only way.  Sadly, I lost all of my calendar data (when I tried to import my old calendar data from a backup it was associated with the old iCloud account and could not be edited) but my contacts were saved.  I just re-entered my calendar information... figured this would be less time consuming than trying to reboot and research the issue 10 more hours!
Here are the steps I used:
1- iCloud was OFF on my iPhone to start
2- Export your iCal and iContacts data from your Mac to a backup (you WILL lose your data)
3- On iPhone went to Settings, iCloud and went through the proper steps to set up a new iCloud account with a NEW email address (me.com)
4- On iMac under System Preferences I deleted my OLD iCloud account (it will prompt you stating you will lose your data or you can merge/save).  The only way I could get it to work was to accept the warning it was going to delete everything
5- Set up a NEW iCloud account on my Mac with the NEW me.com account I set up on my iPhone.  Somehow my Contacts were kept in tact, uploaded to iCloud and to my iPhone.  Had issues with my iCal data, but I entered all the information manually.
Everything is syncing great!  Haven't set this up yet on my iPad but will do that next.  I'm hopeful!!

  • Unable to connet to internet with safari or other mac applications

I have just moved over to mac. Everything is working well except when I try to access the internet from safari and other mac applications such as iphoto and itunes. I am working off a wireless network. I loaded Firefox and it connects to the internet fine. I can also print through the network from my Macbook. I have checked everything, any thoughts?

You know....I rebotted the router like 5 times tonight, and it finally worked. I'm not sure what finally got my computer and the router to shake hands, but, I don't care...at least it works now.a

  • Viewing a webpage with MobileSafari on MBP

Wondering if anyone else is having this issue - from the "Develop" menu of Safari on my MBP when I try to open a page with MobileSafari (2.1) it opens and then immediately crashes. Haven't been able to test pages on the MBP since I installed XCode Tools...

You can enable Java Script in Settings>Safari>Java Script>On. However, are you sure that you don't mean Java? If you need Java or ActiveX, you are out of luck on the iPad. Neither are supported.

  • Can we share apps and songs with two different apple IDs but the same computer?

we both got an iPod Touch for Christmas and we have two seperate Apple IDs and I cant figure out if the music she has purchased and the music i have purchased can be combined. We are using the same computer (windows 7) and same user acct. We also have itunes gift cards and before we start buying stuff i want to know how this all works. Thanks in advance and I must admit i am new to apple and not the greatest at it.

I've tried everything..unplugging and re-setting the Apple TV, restoring to factory settings and starting over...nothing seems to work. I'm not sure why the software upgrade would have affected it, but that's what triggered this problem. It doesn't seem right that if it's accessible on my computer and it's all music purchased by me, that it's not all accessible on my Apple TV!
