Why can't I watch movies in VO?

I live in Switzerland and I get all movies either in French, german, and Italian. I used to be able to chose featured movies in VO. The option is no longer available. What can I do? Thank you for your help

I just rented my first movie on my apple tv from iTunes and it said it would be 3 hours before I can watch the movie. What the heck is up with that and why dose it take that long for a movie to start? Question: why can i not watch movies?

everytime i try to watch a movie the pop up says to download a adobe flash player. i try downloading this program and the popup says close internet explorer and that is where i cannot go any further i do not know how to close it...

What is preventing you from closing Internet Explorer?
Here are a few ways to close it...
- If you look at the window for Internet Explorer there is a small X in the upper right corner... clicking that will close Internet Explorer.
- If you right click the blue border area at the top and select Close, that will close Internet Explorer.
- If you choose File -> Exit from the top menubar, that will close Internet Explorer

Why can i not watch movie trailers in QT anymore?

Ever since I upgraded to SL and I go to Yahoo movies and want to watch a movie trailer Real Player opens up and plays. It was always in QT before. I have tried downloading the file too but it will not import. Any suggestions?

To check Safari's plugins go to Safari/Help/Installed Plugins
If Quicktime mappings are incorrect, open up System Preferences/Quicktime/Advanced
Click on the MIME Settings button.
In the next window that opens up make sure that all the boxes are enabled by clicking on the corresponding triangles so that they are pointed down.
This will show the “hidden” boxes especially the *Video-Quicktime Movie* box. This box will enable you to play movie trailers within your browser.
Click the OK button.
Make sure you have installed the latest versions of Flip4Mac, VLC Media Player, Perian and Adobe Flash Player.

Flash is an old media format often used on websites to show videos. The makers of Flash (Adobe) never made a version if it for iOS devices and have now abandoned all development of it for mobile devices because it is a security risk and not good for the battery life of mobile devices.
A dedicated app is an app that is dedicated to a single service, company or website.
Amazon and IMDB have apps in the AppStore. Search for them download them and use them instead of trying to use their websites.
The blue question mark you see on some websites appears when the media you're trying to view is in a format not supported by the iPad (usually an older, non-mobile format such as Flash or Windows Media). Most websites use more modern video formats that work across all computers and mobile devices, some don't.

Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

Why can't I purchase movies from my Apple TV? When searching not all available movies even show up!

I've had my apple tv for a while now, but have never actually purchased anything from the itunes store directly from the device. A friend recommended "Sleepless in Seattle" to me, and since it's not in Netflix or On Demand, I decided to buy it from itunes.
In doing a search in the Movies section of my Apple TV and typing in "Sleepl", I got no results. Bummed, I went onto Amazon to see how much the DVD would cost. On a whim, I opened itunes on my computer and did a search for the movie. To my shock, it is available for purchase on itunes for $9.99!
Once I found this out, I went back to my Apple TV and searched again. The movie still didn't appear to exist. I noticed then that every movie on the apple tv only gave me the option of renting, not buying. I was going to purchase from my computer, but then thought better of it because I wasn't sure it would be made available for me to watch on the apple tv.
Is there something wrong with my system? Why can't I buy movies from the device? I can buy tv shows, so it just seems weird to me that this is limited to the movies!

That profile was written in 2007 and never updated. Unlike you, I don't live on this forum. I have one 5 year old Dell gathering dust, waiting for the trash that has some kids software on it my kids never use.
Currently I own a 27 inch iMac, and a 21 inch iMac used by my wife. I just sold my MacBook Air, which replaced my MacBook Pro of two years ago. I have an AppleTV v2, and unfortunately gave my AppleTV v1 to a friend before I realized they stripped out the movie purchase feature. We also own an iPad, two iPhones, and 4 iPods, two of which are used as digital music storage for our cars.
So yes, all of my factual posts concerning Apple's shocking decision to try to hide the fact they removed significant functionality from AppleTV when they revved it, are just driven by the fact that 4 years ago I used almost no apple products. Apparently I harbor a twisted desire to hurt the company that provides me almost all of my technology of choice today, despite being an early software developer for the Mac, helping start two Macinotosh software companies in the 1980s and 1990s, and working at Apple for 2 years in the early 90s.
The truth is, Apple's products weren't so good 15 years ago so I gradually switched to Windows for professional reasons. About 4 years go I bought an iPhone, and started to wake up to the fact that Apple had done a tremendous job moving the Mac platform to the intel architecture, and was very happy to replace my crappy dells with Apple products.
But that doesn't mean I wear blinders when their product teams and marketing department makes mistakes, or does something deceptive.

Try:

- Reset all settings

     The iPad and iPad 2 support the same video types. You cannot open a .mov file via e-mail to the best of my knowledge (on iPad). Only YouTube videos and app specific videos* can be opened via e-mail on the iPad.

Before you can sync video files, it must be converted into a format compatible with ipod. If you can’t sync a video convert it by doing the following:
In iTunes, select the video you want to convert. Do one of the following then sync again after:
1) Choose File > Create New Version > Create iPod or iPhone Version.
2) Choose File > Create New Version > Create iPad or Apple TV Version.

You cannot access the movie from the Apple TV screen. You would need to use airplay on the iPad to stream the video to the Apple TV.
