WHY CAN'T IE FIX THE CRASHES?

After using IE 8,9,10,and now 11, I can say that IE is the best web browser on earth it just need a kick start on its framework. My point being is that these crashes need to be fixed and stopped I prefer IE over Firefox, Opera, and Google Chrome because
for one Google Chrome is extremely laggy with HD videos, Opera is okay but crashes and is slow and Firefox is too slow as well. If IE can step up their game in the improvement department that would be swell I'm sick and tired of getting hit with
crashes at random times when doing important work and have to start from scratch and I'm running on a HP notebook PC 2000 if that helps any if you can step up the browser and squash these problems it would be greatly appreciated

IE uses a different security model and Addon Model to the other browsers.
Crashing is probably caused by your addons. The first step in troubleshooting any web browser issues is to test in noAddons mode. Each version of IE has security improvements that may make your currently installed addons incompatible. IE10/11 use x64 bit
processes by default for internet sites.
Uninstall any unwanted addons or check with the vendors website for updates.
Start>Control Panel>Action Center to view any error messages and recommended solutions.
Post consumer questions about IE to http://answers.microsoft.com (Help>Online support menu from IE)... Include with your questions the FULL address of any websites you are having issues with.

The least Apple can do is fix the crash on start up error

You know, a lot of people, both die-hards and newcomers, have some major problems with iMovie 08. Now you know that Apple has heard the complaints, especially after the NY Times panned the program. But still they choose to say or do nothing. Fine, their choice.
But c'mon guys, for the love of everything that's holy, at least release a patch for the start up crash. I mean, this is like buying a new car that every time you want to start it you have to go under the hood and reconnect the battery.
Let me say that I love Apple's products and usually can't wait to give my hard earned money to them. But they've really dropped the ball with the one and it will for sure make me think twice before I make a purchase based on Job's sales pitch alone.
Is it too much to ask to have a program that starts up?
Please Apple, fix this.

If you search the web for Bluetooth issues with IOS 6, you'll find that quite a few stereo and automobile makers produced head units with bad BT programming. My understanding is that they built them to work with the existing iPhone (at that time) but did not build in full conformance with the BT standard which is fully backward-compatible. Apple went to the newer BT and these units stopped working. It's an issue that the car and stereo makers need to fix (and some are doing so with firmware updates).

Why can't they fix the publishing problem?

Everyone is having the same trouble for about a year now.
I still can't publish updates, it creates all the pages fine, then after it says "publishing will continue in the background", it crashes iWeb.
I have delete the iWeb preferences plist, still crashes.
Any idea? Anyone?

Uploading manually to your iDisk loses these features in iWeb '08 as well.
Uploading to any server can produce varying results depending on the time of day, your internet connections performance, server activity, bandwidth etc.
I have a MobileMe account but I don't use it for serious publishing - just to quickly test sites on the web.
.Mac was originally intended for people to host a small personal site. Although they give you all that storage space, its not all intended for only websites. The bandwidth, response time and reliability of the Apple server is not so good as my commercial hosting service which also has prompt and efficient tech support.
I don't usually let a site grow any bigger than about 25 MB. After it has grown to that size or less, I start a sub site(s) on a separate domain file(s) so that it becomes quicker to load it into iWeb and publish.
If you/when you upgrade to iWeb '08, you will be able to publish your photos to your iDisk via an iPhoto gallery and link to it using a web widget. You can, of course, do this with what you have - without the neat widget of course.

Why can't they fix the crop issue?

Since day one, when I select the crop tool or press "c", the default 3x 2 crop is selected. That's great; however, when I try to drag a crop rectangle, 95% of the time, it reverts to 2 x 3. So each and every time I crop, I have to switch back and forth from 2x3 or 3x2 and back again just to get the correct orientation. If it displays 3x2, shouldn't it crop at 3x2? I was hoping 1.5 would fix this.
Sorry to moan about such a small problem; but this is annoying. I hate extra mouse clicks. Anyone have this same issue; or is it my bad luck?
Overall I am pleased with the upgrade. I have completely switched over from C1 Pro. Cheers,

One of my (few) complaints with Aperture 1.1 was the fact that you could not replicate cropping via the Lift/Stamp tools. Now that this has been rectified in 1.5, I have no complaints with respect to cropping.

Why can't you fix the problem for those of us who ended up with multiple Apple IDs and permit us to merge just once? I understand that IDs are tied to software updates but surely you chave the capability tod o this?

Why can't I access the updated that are pending on my phone? I've turned the phone off and also closed all the apps. But still won't allow me to access the updates. Just a blank screen.

Another post is reporting that applying the 6.1 update fixes their issue. I'll have to wait until I am back on WiFi to try that.

Why can't I download the latest CS6 Illustrator Hotfix with AAMEE?

I tell Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition to Package the latest updates for CS6 Illustrator and what I get is 16.0.3 when the latest update is 16.0.5. I have found the update on Adobe's web site as stand alone exe but it will not install on my installation I'm assuming because I created the original Illustrator Installer package with AAMEE. Why can't AAMEE see the 16.0.5 hotfix?

Problem solved, The latest hot fix was not a regular update. You have to download the exe form Adobe's websight and follow their instructions to install. you can't just double click the exe. It is a copy and replace the file in the \Support Files\Contents\Windows folder. It is important to make sure you are at the latest version before attempting the update. I trashed my first attempt and had to reinstall. Hope this helps.

Why can't I increase the cache size in FF 4?

OK, first of all, to be honest I really don't like FF 4. I see absolutely no advantages over the previous versions and I can't find anything to like about FF 4..
One big and annoying factor (besides the how UI and layout) is why can't I increase the cache size?
If I choose to manage it myself and override what the developers did, I can go to 1024 and that's it. If I want 5GB of cache, I'm out of luck because some coded decides how I want to manage my disk space? They're kidding, right?
What the heck is the matter with these guys?
This thing is so bad that I've resisted upgrading, I didn't have a choice when I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04, it came with the package.. Yuk... I've been a FF user since late 2003 or early 2004... I'm about to part ways with this thing if they don't fix it...Even IE sucks less than this thing....

It’s sometimes necessary to convert to sRGB for some applications ( internet, some beamers in clubs,…).
I convert them but afterwards it is nice to have the possibility to check this out and should be possible in lightroom, the info is present why not showing it ( it is not so easy to go in finder and look at it in info for every image)?
Since I’m always working in Adobe profile for printing and so this is important to know !

The disconnect here is many (including me) don't reimport rendered JPEGs
into our Lightroom Catalogs. Why you are doing that is beyond me. You
have the original and can recreate any rendered file at any time.
Storing the derivative JPEGs is redundant, creates additional confusion
and serves little real purpose. Exported versions are considered
discarable by many.
Yes, understand what you're meaning. but the fact is that I started rather recently with lightroom. So my images where classified in directory's and subdirectory's...already.
I think that this is the major problem. This is always a problem when you step in a new system.
Let's say I am going to submit to a photographic society, I have an Export
preset created that exports to proper size and color space for
projection. It creates a file. I send it to the club. Then I delete it.
Why save it? I can recreate it. Then I don't have to manage it, search
for it, or worse yet, risk confusion with my original file or othe
resultant derivatives.
The fact that I like to keep them is
indeed an inborn result of the "pré-lightroom period". A bad habitude
indeed. I'm thinking now of deleting them, will maybe better. On the other side
I still have them just for me in order to know which ones I used and when.
Another bad habitude.
But
since I'm not a professional photographer I'm mostly confronted with the time
issue and it is for me easier to take existing files ready for use...

Today place for jpeg's is rather easy since the Gb's are almost free...
Same is true of a client photo. They want an 8x10. I go to the retouched
original, create a JPEG from an 8x10 preset in the proper dimensions and color space. Send it to the lab. Then, I can delete it.
One of the strengths of Lightroom is that it creates many fewer
intermediate file versions along the way toward final creation. Another
strength is that you can save (via snapshots in Develop) your
derivatives, export, and discard them without having to create, import
and manage additional files on disk. In the old days of just Photoshop
you might end up with a dozen or more files on your disk for every
worked file. With Lightroom, you only need one or two.
Will look deeper in your proposed workflow...and yes I'm comming from the old days.
That said, if you want to keep the derivatives for purposes down the road,
that is up to you but I don't understand why they need to be inserted
into your catalog.
Since my catalog is made in the time
from before lightroom I’m still having all these directory's and
subdirectory's...
Easier
for me since even with back-ups of the catalogue still afraid for crashes. And
I keep liking these directory structure because for the moment it's lighrtroom
and tomorrow it can be another program, you never know. It's like a website, "on line versoin only", big problem when a firm at some moment stop to provide this possibility.
I think I will try to go deeper in "how to use lightroom better..."

I've seen this requested in several past Lightroom versions.
Is Adobe not addressing this basic feature for a reason?, I mean, even Aperture has this feature, it can't be that hard to add? Can it?
Maybe Adobe isn't reading the feature request?

Honestly, I am hardly qualified to even guess - there are tons of bugs reported that would be easy to fix, but aren't, features that would be useful and easy enough to implement, but aren't. Things like focus points which seem like a no brainer but are never implemented - your guess is as good as mine..
But to be clear: focus points are different for different cameras, and are stored in proprietary metadata. - not impossible to get at, obviously, but requires some programming/maintenance..
Worth noting: Apple is shutting down their Aperture business. Yeah, they support focus points and all kinds of good stuff, but I guess Aperture isn't a real money-maker for them (lotsa maintenance work, but not a lot of revenue) - relatively small market.
Adobe has been working on Revel, and Lightroom Mobile.., instead of focus points (and bug fixes, and...) - my guess: that's where the money is, or where they think it is.
