Why can't it be updated?

I've been trying to update my ipod video but i can't. They keep on saying that the "ipod cannpt be updatee because it contains files that are being used by other applications." I can't update my player to the newer software. What can i do?

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I already did all of these things. As you can see from the below screenshot, the language is already set. Also, this screenshot was taken in Safe Mode, so NoScript is not enabled. About:accounts still says I need to enable cookies for some reason. So, this solution didn't work....

What is your program - Photoshop Elements 9 or Premiere Elements 9? If Photoshop Elements 9, you have posted in the wrong forum. You have posted in Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing). Although Camera Raw allows for the import of raw format image and dng into a Premiere Elements project as source media, you cannot "process" it in the Camera Raw dialog. You need Photoshop Elements for that.
If your program is Photoshop Elements, please re-post your thread in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum or wait for a moderator here to see your thread here and move it from here to there.

Some information that might help as you take care of the above....
Does your current problem exist with and without antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Are you getting an error message (number/code) associate with your Help Menu/Update?
The latest version of Camera Raw that is supported by version 9.0/9.0.1 seems to be 6.5. Do you have that currently installed?
If you cannot get the program's Help Menu/Update to work for you, then download and install Camera Raw 6.5 from the following from Adobe
For Mac

What camera are you using to generate your raw format images.

a. move to a later version of Photoshop Elements that supports a later version of Camera Raw that supports your camera.

why can't I update my apps? It always ask for the password and then goes right back to update.

Try signing out of iTunes & App Store then signing back in.
Settings->iTunes & App Store. Tap on your Apple ID then select sign out
Restart your iPad
Now, open Settings->iTunes & App Store - sign back in.
See if you can update now.
if not try Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings
You won't lose any data but will have to log back into your wifi networks again,

Yes, it is old. According to your profile you're running iOS 3. In order to update you need to use iTunes on your computer but the original iPad can only be updated to version 5.1.1. Those games will still not work on your device.

Why can't iMovie be updated from App Store or from updater?

In 2011 I purchased the iLife '11 package on CD for $80 directly from Apple. Since then I've updated the various iLife Apps without incident, until yesterday.
I downloaded the iMoved 9.0.6 Updater and attempted to update v 9.0.4 to 9.0.6. The Updater throws up an Alert: "The version of iMovie installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store yadda yadda yadda."
Well, I didn't buy iLife, or iMovie, through the App Store but I went there and attempted to update iMovie. Naturally, it isn't in my list of purchased items, nor does it appear on the Update page. However, the App Store knows it is on my Mac because the purchase button is now an "Update" button.
So even with Dirty Harry's 45 aimed right between my eyes, I'm feeling lucky and I punch "UPDATE."
Bam! New Alert: "You have updates available for other accounts To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."
Thank you Apple! I don't have another account, or any other accounts. One account is enough! I don't need no stinking other accounts.
First Apple screws the pooch by turning Final Cut Pro into iMovie on Steriods, and now to update iMovie I have to log into an account I don't have.
Adobe Premiere here I come.
While I can actually do without iMovie, I'm sure the next time I try to update another item from the iLife suite, I'll run into the same illogical problem, so better to solve it now.

When you bought your MacBook, did you get a restore DVD? Perhaps that DVD will restore iLife - I think there is a software restore disc that comes with the machines.
The only way I was able to fix my problem was to dig out my original iLife DVD and reinstall iMovie.
However, in doing so, the install also reinstalled iPhoto, but actually trashed it. For some reason deselecting iPhoto was not a custom install option. So, I had to then reinstall iPhoto as well.
Of course, once iPhoto was fixed and iMovie 9.0 was installed, and both working, I still couldn't update iMovie because v9.0.1 was the minimum requirement.
So, I had to scroll through pages of prior Apple updates until I found the iMovie 9.0.1 installer and download it. After 9 was updated to 9.0.1, the current 9.0.6 updater worked fine.
I can't wait until Apple realeases a new version of iPhoto and iMovie so I can go through this all over again.
Apple listen? Don't hold your breath!

I have tried every trick I could find on the board to try to update the software on my iPod and can't get the software updated. Can't update, can't restore... help!

1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase,
4. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
5. Open the iTunes and click “Restore”

Why can't I install updates?

This morning a window popped up saying that I have four Adobe apps that need to be updated. I clicked the window to start that process and in a moment, got a window saying "Update Failed, Updates could not be applied, You are already running the Adobe Application Manager. Please close all instances . . . etc". I was not already running App Manager. I re-booted, same symptoms. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit. Apps include Photoshop CC, LR5.3, Acrobat X Pro, Premiere Elements 12, Photoshop Elements 12.
Can anyone help?

Can you please open the task manager and check whether there is any instance
of any adobe application running in the background. If yes please terminate that
process and then try to update again.

Why can't Safari see updated media (pictures) from Aperture w/o having to quit/open?

To reiterate, I can't see/upload any updated Aperture Library pictures through the Safari Media>Pictures finder window when trying to select pictures for upload to a website with both apps open. I have to quit/reopen Safari for the updated chages by Aperture to show. This is counter productive. Is there a workaround or am I missign something?

Why can't I see updates in the App Store?

The App Store icon indicates that a number of updates are available, but the Updates page in the App Store is empty. I can see which Apps need updating in the Under All Purchases. Rebooting did not work. ‘Reset all settings’ did not work. Closing the App Store icon did not work. Removing the last ten Apps did not work. Closing all active apps did not work. Loading a new App did not work. Closing all running apps and turning off wi-Fi did not work.

Why can't my iPad update my calendar?

After updating my ipad mini to ios 7, my entries in my calendar from Nov 2012 to Aug 2013 were deleted. My mac mini still has this information, but nothing will get the ipad mini to update. And, if I enter an appointment to the calendar on the mac mini, it will Not update/sync to the ipad mini. If I then enter the same info onto the ipad mini, then the mac mini will have duplicate entries in the mac calendar. After that, I have to manually clean up this mess. This is almost to the point of bein useless. I got this ipad mini last Nov to be the killer PDA that I needed to help keep track of my appointments and such. Now, this is all but completely failing. All since ios 7 came out.
So, how do I get this straightned out and working back to the way it was BEFORE ios 7 came out?
And, while we're at it, the text is still too small, and grayed out, making the whole thing hard to read. All the text needs to return to the dark black so that any and all text will pop out of the screen with the greatest contrast. The way it is now, it is NOT working. This needs to be fixed.

Ok, I have reset the sync settings and things got worse.
I now no longer have any calendar data from Nov 2012, but I lost also the month of September.
To make matter worse, Dec 1, comes around, and I just lost October. And this is with All Events selected.
The iCal on my Mac Mini goes all the way back to June 2009, I should have all the data going back that far. But, I am losing everything. I Need this to keep track of the appointments for Doctors, PT, Chiropractor, Overtime for work, my aged mother as I'm her driver, Leave time from work, and anything I need to know to prevent anything that conflict with something. And this means I have something going on, almost every other day. These things I need to keep track of, and what this iPad Mini purchased for in the first place. The Killer PDA. And it is no longer working.
There is something very wrong with iOS 7, and it seems to be getting worse. Currently, I am looking at any other calendar app on the app store to find something better that really works with iCal for the Mac. If I can find one that really works, then I'll dump or delete the iOS 7 calender, as it is now completely worthless.
If that that doesn't work, then I'll have to look at the Barnes & Noble Nook HD+. They say that they have a calendar that will sync with my iCal in my Mac Mini. But I really do not want to spend another $179 to fix something that should have never been broken in the first place, for no reason.
And, if I can not do that, then I'll have to fall back to my Mac Book. That I know Does Work with my Mac Mini. But I do not like the idea of dragging around another six+ pounds of computer just to have a real working calendar.
So, my options are shrinking, and since it looks like iOS 7 is turning out be a Complete Fail, I may have to just park my iPad Mini in the closet, since it is becoming useless to me without the calendar, making the $500 I spent, being wasted for no reason.
And it is becoming very clear that this wrecking of the iPad Calendar was done deliberately. It's to be there only for decoration, something to look pretty, and not to be really functional like it was on iOS 6.
This is becoming really sad. I have been using Apple products since April 1982, and have supported Apple all the way. Now, I don't think that you could Give me any top of the line iPad, without any strings attached. As it would be unable to help me with my life the way I need to do for me.

Why can't I install update my FFOS in ZTE Open C?

I tried downloading update from the Software update option. My phone downloads the updates but after that shows Update failed. I have tried and failed several times.
Then I tried installing different update packages from SD Card in Boot menu. But "Signature verification failed".

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your ZTE Open C device updates. I experienced this same issue in a ZTE Open C device in the past.
During that time, I opened a bug to track this issue:

Unfortunately, ZTE creates device-specific builds, and there is not much that Mozilla can do to resolve this issue directly. You should contact the support channels for ZTE directly, so that they may investigate and suggest possible solutions for this case.

Why can Firefox only be updated in ONE of TWO administrator passwords in MAC OS? It SHOULD work from either.

Every time Firefox has an available update, I get a message that indicates that it can't be installed because I have "insufficient privileges." There are two userIDs on the computer (a MAC running MAC OS 10.4.11), and both userIDs have "administrator" privileges, which means updates and other changes should be permitted from either userID. I find I have to log into the other userID and update Firefox there, and then it shows the update on my userID. Is there a way to change settings to enable updating from either userID, or at least to change which userID updates are permitted from, since my userID is the primary one used? Thanks.

Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean reinstall.
Install the new version that you have downloaded.
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
