Why can´t Itunes identify an update for my Ipod Touch ?
I have Itunes 9.0 and when clicking the "search for updates" button, i get the result "You have allready the latest verison installed 2.2.1".
Im interested in the 3.0 version primarily, and are willing to pay the 9.90 USD for the upgrade, bu i caannot find out how to install it.

Given that it's been two years since the last iOS update for that iPod touch model, it's safe to assume there won't be any more unless someone finds a glaring security hole in it, and even then it will only be to close the hole.

Thanks for your prompt response, however I have first seen it now. I have placed an active SIM card in the iPhone turned it off and on. It now says SIM locked, please write access code. The problem is I don't remember the password. When I connect it to iTunes it tell me that I have to write the password before it can be used with iTunes...... Do you have any good ideas? Well first off you shouldn't have had to pay for a download (just an assumption from the word "purchased".
If you are trying to install iOS 5 on your iPod touch, it won't work they arent compatible. I suggest checking what version of software you are trying to install and posting it in this forum so people can have a better understanding. -

It's not just iTunes you need to update...
You need to upgrade to Leopard v10.5.8 at the very least in order to sync, restore, and backup an iPod touch.

You need a Credit Card or an iTunes gift card to create an iTunes account.
Since you purchased the 2.0 upgrade, you already have an iTunes account.
The 2.0 upgrade comes with the Apps store you can use on the iPod touch. Also, you can use the App store in iTunes.
With both of these you can download free apps and you do not need a credit card since you already have an iTunes account.
If you wish to make an actual purchase (pay money) for an app, you will need a CC or gift card balance on you iTunes account.
Free apps/games thru the App store require an iTunes account (which you already have) and do not require that you have a CC or gift card balance. -

You should ALWAYS make sure that EVERYTHING is on your computer before any update/restore/etc., just as you shuld always make sure that your backup copy of your computer is upt ot date before any update/restore/etc.
If you do lose anything, you would just sync it back. -

Why can I copy music to my iPad or iPod touch from multiple computers but from only one computer using my iPhone?
IPads and iPod Touches don't seem to have the same media copying restriction that my iPhone has. My main computer is at home. I have music at home and at work and sometimes I like to add it to my iPhone from work. I can do this no problem using my iPad or my iPod touch, but when it comes to my iPhone, I can only copy music to it from my main computer.
Why would the iPhone have this restriction but not the other two devices?
ps. Where's my "add currently playing song to playlist" button? I can't even find a third-party music app with this feature.Because...!

Although it isn't normally possible to sync an iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers (or manually manage an iPhone from more than one) it can be achieved if all computers have copies of the self same library. See Re: how do i sync on a second laptop without the data on my iPhone 5 being erased?
