Why can't iTunes resume playback of the last track I played before closing it?
If Safari can recall the last page I had open when I closed it, and Preview can open the last documents I had open, why can't iTunes resume playback of the last track I played?
Come on guys, a search on the internet will bring up discussions from the early 2000s with the question of resuming playback. Just add the feature already.
HI THanks for this helpful post. I will try this. I have 2 iPods. One is 3rd Gen. I love the little small square, so I bought it on ebay. Then I got a little iPod nano ( again a tiny square shape)
So I tried to sync them today and update them.
This is the response I got.
I get a message that the original file cannot be found and asks if I want to try and locate file. I locate the file and it's empty?!
This freaked me out because I have all this music I love. The only thumb drive is my back up drive which is not a thumb. Will the back up drive have my music files too?

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that incomplete track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that album and click the arrow to the left of it, and then use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. -
A couple of days ago my phone died. I put it into recovery and when I tried to restore my data it told me that I had the wrong password. I tried every password that I could think of and then decided to set the phone up as a new phone, thinking that I'd be able to access my old data that way. WRONG!
I discovered that all my backups from 2014 and 2013 were no longer listed and only my backups from 2012 were listed.
When I've looked in that mobile app info on my pc no dates from 2013 and 2014 are listed. How do I find my backups that are no longer listed?
all my accounting apps have been wiped clean and I'm freaking out since I run my own accounting for my small business through it. I thought that I was safe because I've been backing up to my computer but now that info is no longer listed on itunes.

I went to my recycling bin and found some of my apps in there and found the apps that were deleted on the day i backed up my files. Any advice on how to get that info back into my phone?Additional info:
Tracks seem to be being corrupted on my G5, generally. If I play them in Quicktime they do the same thing; if I transfer them to the iPod they do the same thing.
Yet they're all fine on the laptop.

Before FF4 I just typed in a website name (like imdb) and went instantly to that site. Now I get a google search page--totally unnecessary. Google is unavoidable for information at times, but I use it only when I have to. I resent being forced to use it when all I want is (e.g.) my bank account. There used to be a "none" in the browser bar, but it seems to be gone now. I know you've got this whole keyword thing now and I can set it up so google is in the background, but before I went straight to any website without setting up anything and it was much easier, and no google. If this google alliance is the new FF, I want none of it--I'll go elsewhere.

Why can't I copy and paste the music from my iPhone on iTunes 11 to a folder in my Music Library? I want to have a copy of the music on iTunes so when I update to a newer version of iOS I don't lose my music. And no I didn't buy this music off iTunes and neither will I use iTunes Match.
There has never been a function to copy anything from an iPhone and paste it to a computer.
All of your media should be in iTunes already.
If it is not and was purchased from iTunes, right click on the device and select Transfer Purchases.
If the media is not in iTunes and was not purchased from iTunes, how did you get it on the device in the first place? -

I'm using the remote with my iPod connected to iTunes why can't I search playlists on the iPod? It only lets me search playlists in iTunes and only let's me see the current playlist on the iPod only
You can only sync to one computer.
You would have to transfer purchases, but the apple ID would need to be the same.
Or find a 3rd party app to transfer content. -

Yup, your question and Diane's answer helped me also. Tho' I had had problems before getting into the iTunes store I always managed to find a way. Today they had me blocked cold with the "Update to 10" advert no matter what I did. Other questioners are being told, incorrectly as it turns out, that they have to update their OS to accomodate iTunes 10 and upgrade to iTunes 10. I did the download which did not take up much more room on my crowded old hard drive and now I'm back in business.

Why can't iTunes list composers
I just bought 150 songs. Probably 80% of them have no composer listed. I thought I could look them up, but that is proving very difficult.
If I buy the hard-copy CD, ALL of the composers for EVERY song are listed. Why can't iTunes provide the songwriter of each song they sell???This could turn into quite a p*ssing contest
I don't see why it should turn into anything. If you are not interested in it, don't look at it.
Some people are very interested in this info as some are interested in the cover art, lyrics, production notes,etc.
The publisher has this info with readily available. And the publisher/label is VERY interested in who wrote the song.
iTunes Producer is very easy to add this info.
To add this to a song take almost zero effort.
Also, the whole idea of ID3 tags is to have the information available for a song.
Before formats with these tags were avalable, everything had to be named some cryptic combintaion of letters and/or stored on folders/subfolders withthe artist name or some way to know what the song is.
Since the tags are there, why not use them?

Why can't itunes have DVD extras avaliable to download??
How come on every site out there that that makes movie available to download, there are not any extras or special features that are avaliable? I don't think i am a minority out there when i say that the only reson i buy DVDs is specifically for the extras or the commentaries, other wise i would just Nextflix them. So why can't itunes make them avaliable? Like if you buy the movie then they can have the commenary build in like as dvds have them build into the audio tracks. Or maybe the other extras can be a free extra dowload avaliave to people that purchase the movie. Otherwise i'm not paying $14.00 to download a movie that does not contain the special features that the DVD would have contained.
Mac OS X (10.4.7)iTunes movie downloads only have what the studios allow.
I am sure that the studios make more money with DVD sales also , that could be why no extras in iTunes.
I won't download movies because of the low quality. A 2.5" screen for 2 hours, hahaha. -
