Why can't Lightroom open files from OneDrive when I try to add them to the catalogue?

It finds the files, says that they aren't available for preview, and if I try to import them anyway, it says that it can't open the files. They are jpeg from IOS and are only available online.

Yes, it turned out to be a version issue. The current version number at the time was 2014.8.2.something. My version was one version older. Pays to update right away!

    I have been using CS5/Bridge/ACR for a year now and all of the sudden, I cannot get the RAW images from ACR into CS5.  I always open my RAW files from Bridge, make my adjustments in ACR, then select all and open images into CS5.  This has always worked just fine, but recently only a random number of images will open, if any at all!
    For example, If I select 10 images to open in CS5, it may be 4 that open, or it could be 8, or it could be 0.  I haven't done anything new to my computer.  I have uninstalled photoshop and reinstalled it twice and that hasn't helped.
    I am so frustrated.  I thought I purchased a quality product (which I have loved until now since I can't even get my files in to use the program!) and am so dissapointed that I can't use it anymore.
    Hopefully someone can help me.  I really want to use photoshop again!

    You could try to reset Bridge preferences.  Hold down the Ctrl key and start Bridge.  You should get a reset window with 3 options.

    Go to Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences trash these files:
    com.apple.finder.plist
    com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
    Then, restart, or log out and in again.
    (You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)

    You were probably using the Release Candidate version of camera raw 8.7, which one gets from Adobe Labs.

    I think I figured it out.  I set the compatibility mode to Windows Server 2008 (which is the OS on the server we are using) and it opened just fine.  Whoop Whoop.  Thanks for your help.

    Files on an external hard drive open just like files on the internal drive - but I get the idea that you are having a problem just finding and seeing those files. Is that correct?

    Most likely because Essbase is creating an implicit share relationship between the two members, which is causing the association tab to be grayed out. This has happened every time I have downloaded FireFox. The browser itself works, but I need to know how to get rid of these icons, but still be able to use FireFox. This is on a new computer, with Windows 7.

    Managed to solve this myself. Just went to properties > hidden.
