Why can't my iphone play another ringtone for new mail? It is still stuck on the previous ringtone
I changed the "new mail" sound to a different ringtone and it clearly shows the new option but whenever i get a new mail it still plays the ringtone that I previously had. Why wont the new sound play?
Please somebody help
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart.

Why does it take 4 or 5 minutes for new mail to show up after I open Thunderbird?
When I initially open my Thunderbird mail program, no new mail appears until the program has been open for 4 or 5 minutes. My computer at work shows new email almost immediately after opening the program. I wish I could figure out what the difference is. I formerly used Outlook Express (with XP) before I got this new computer with Windows 7. Same computer and os at work. I would appreciate any help you could give me with this issue.

Few days back i bought 8 ringtones from my iphone application for itunes and when yesterday I sync it with itunes all my ringtones washed off. I tried to again download the same ringtones from itunes then it again asked for payment. Why?
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
I have an iTunes account where I have downloaded Digital movies & I am able to see the list on the desktop of the original downloads. When I log on another device with my login I do not see my list to access them. Why can't I access from another device

windows vista not recognizing my iphone4s when i open itunes, keep getting trust / dont trust message on phone and always press trust. Not sure why it's started doing it. Can not synch iphone at all or add new music....as itunes does not pick up the phone I have connected anymore. My ipod synchs fine still and thats over 6 years old!

Why can't I open/play my movie files after I have downloaded them from my camera? Pictures open fine.
What system and iPhoto version are you running and do you have Qjuicktime Player 7 installed. It would be in the Applications or Applications/Utilities folder.

if you are having storage issues on your phone, I would be happy to make suggestions.
You can store pictures and documents in Dropbox or Google drive. These are cloud storage apps that keep your information stored off the phone, but available any time. You can send pages documents to either app in a different format for editing.
make sure you delete old messages, phone logs, email, as they take up space also. -

My iphone storage is full due to my large photo library. As I want to go on taking more photos, if I back up my phone to icloud, can I then delete all my photos from my iphone to make room for new photos? Or will the next time I back up lose all those previously backed up as it is a 'new' set of data?
I just want to find the easiest and safest way of not losing all my photos while being able to take more than my iPhones storage worth as it is already full - can someone help me please? As you are clearly aware, it is important for you to have backups of your important data, including all of these photos you are currently keeping on your iPhone. While it is possible to use iTunes or iCloud to do backups of your iPhone, the problem becomes how to access those backups if you have deleted the photos from your iPhone. Once you have done the backup and then removed the photos from the iPhone, the only way to access the photos is by restoring the backups to the phone. If you want to easily access the photos once they are off of the iPhone, another approach to this would be to import your photos from the iPhone into an application on your Mac, such as iPhoto. To learn how to do this, use the steps in this article -

Why can I no longer add photos my iPhoto book? Is there a limit to the number of photos? Must I delete unused photos?
This is book # 13 and I've not encountered this problem before. I am dragging photos into the sourse pane but they are not imported. I have other books w/ over 700 pics (not all used) but this has only 300+ so far. I've copied the book to a pdf and it looks as if I'll have to redo it unless there's another solution.

I had never heard of someone using the iPhone Number as the ID in the iMessages account in the Mac version.
i.e without adding an Apple ID
iMessages does allow iPhone numbers and mine lists mine.
I would try this.
Sign Out of the iMessages account and Quit Messages
On the iPhone in Settings > Messages remove the Apple ID
Set the iPhone to Airplane mode for a few minutes (to break with the Server)
On starting the phone up again check the iPhone Number is ticked for iMessages.
If it is add the Apple ID
On the Mac restart Messages
Add the Apple ID
At this point you should get a pop up or two saying the iPhone is using the Number and Apple ID.
Accept these and they get added to the Receive At list and Send From drop down.

Do you mean that iTunes doesn't recognize your phone when you plug it into your computer using the usb to dock cable? If so, see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538. (And yes, you need to use the usb to dock cable that came with your phone. If you dont' have it you'll have to buy another one.)
