Why can't my iPod touch add apps when using it with my new macbook pro?
I've had my iPod touch (4G 64GB) since christmas 2010. I was syncing my ipod with a windows vista dell desktop. I bought a Macbook Pro 15" for college about two weeks ago. When I plug my iPod into my macbook it will manually add music but I tried adding a couple apps and it did nothing. Also on the iPod summary screen if I go to apps I can see my app layout but i can't move the apps and they are semi-see through. HELP ME!!!!!
Something happened and yo have to restore via iTunes. Backup to iTunes if yo can and then restore from that backup
All old devices can sync with the newest iTunes

I Currently Have a Dell laptop with iTunes 10.5 installed. I have an iPod Touch with IOS 5.0.1 and I'm getting a new Macbook Pro in a couple of days. Is there and easy way to transfer my music to my new Macbook? It shouldn't be at all. I'm running Photoshop CS6 on a 2011 MBP and it's working fine. The only thing that I can figure out is that you may not be running at the recommended resolution? What res are you working in? Photoshop is not yet optimized for the full screen display max on the MBP-R.

I have a HP Deskjet D4200 series printer that I used with my iBook G4 and I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro 13.5" and I would like to use this printer with my new lap top. When I use the disc to try to install the printer driver, I get a message that "I can't open the application HP Installer because the Power PC applications are no longer supported. I am not sure what all that means but is there any way to use this printer with my new computer?

Any idea's?The Dell specifications indicate that this is a multifunction device. The printing portion is supposed to be able to use either PostScript or PCL 6. You should be able to use a generic color PostScript PPD or use the generic pxlcolor driver from OpenPrinting.org. There is not much chance of getting scanning to work with OS X.
The Gutenprint drivers will not provide what you need. They only support balck and white printing for laser printers.

Everytime i go to download an App from my Ipod Touch, the app begins to download with the words, "Waiting" underneath it.

Because ipod touch will sycn with one computer at a time. Syncing to another wil erase the current content.
You should copy everything from your old computer to your new one.

I was hoping to sync my iPhone (which is currently registered with my PC) with my new MacBook Pro. Is it possible to transfer my apps to my new MacBook or alternatively, sync my iPhone to my MacBook without losing all the apps?
I'm a little wary after syncing an iPod to a new laptop and losing all of my data, so thought I should check this before making any drastic changes...

A manual backup will do what you want. Here's how to:
Make sure your iTunes account is set up on your new Mac. Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases (Apps and bought media) by choosing File->transfer purchases in the iTunes menu.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

I am facing problem while I connect to my iPad mini with MacBook Pro , it only sync photo from its taken by and from it camera roll only. It doesn't sync all the images... Like my all albums. All photos in library....To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
You should also be able to copy albums that you've created directly on the iPad via apps such as Simple Transfer (though I haven't tried it) -

I have used high-quality brand names (LG, Samsung) that were picked because I liked the display and have had no issues.
I will add that some threads speak of issues with some Dell monitors that work spottily if at all. But only from reading other threads. -
How can I sync my iPad 2 with my new MacBook Pro when it is already synced with my old MacBook? I am getting a message on the new MacBook Pro that says I am not allowed to sync the iPad 2 because it is synced to another iTunes library.
1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPad but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPad with it.

My problem now is that I want to sync my iPhone 4 with my new MacBook Pro without losing all the data and settings. I have already used iTunes to back it up and transfered my purchases onto the mac. I just need help to sync the iPhone with the Mac without losing app data, emails, contacts, settings.
Everytime I click on the tabs (to sync contacts, apps, music, et al), I get an error message that reads:
"Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone “Ryan's iPhone” will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library."
What do I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to use my old Dell projection unit with my new Macbook Pro laptop, but obviously there is no such plug in the Macbook. Is there an adaptor I can connect and make it work? Without the old "F" keys, how do I get the Macbook to provide output to the projection unit? I don't see an icon on a button anywhere?

MarkTYou have to determine what connection options are available on the projector. You probably will need a Mini-displayport (Thunderbolt) adapter. that can accommodate the projector.

I am planning to replace my 3+ year old MacBook Pro with a new MacBook Pro, Retina display... I have been told by "chat" on the Apple site that I can transfer my data wirelessly... on my network.. Is is a good option? I don't want to invest in cables if I can help it... since the old machine has firewire and the new one has thunderbolt! Will the wireless transfer take forever... as in 30-50 hours??? I've been hearing these horror stories...
