Why can't my phone connect to my Macbook pro with the cable?

my phone can connect to the outlet normally, but when i try to connect to my laptop it won't connect. the cable is new and usb port is fine but i don't know what to do please help!

Your phone likely uses a RJ-11 jacks, Back when there were built-in modems, some Macs may have has RJ-11 ports but I've not seen on win a long, long time.
What, exactly, are you trying to do?

Why can't I use my mid 2010 macbook pro with 8GB memoir and NVIDIA GEForce GT 330M 256MB to run 3D in photoshop CC?

    3-D is very memory intensive.
    System requirements | Photoshop
    Mac OS
Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
    Mac OS X v10.7, v10.8, or v10.9
2 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
3.2 GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
1024x768 display (1280x800 recommended) with 16-bit color and 512 MB of VRAM (1 GB recommended)**
    OpenGL 2.0–capable system
Internet connection and registration are necessary for required software activation, membership validation, and access to online services.*
** 3D features are disabled and some Mercury Graphics Engine enhanced features may not work with less than 512 MB VRAM. Read the Help article.
Bottom line, you don't have enough VRAM

  • Can I have an iPhone, ipad and MacBook Pro with the same apple id

Can I have an iPhone, ipad and MacBook Pro with the same apple id. When I use I tunes it get confusing and I have a paid app that needs the same id

When syncing the iPhone and iPad with iTunes on your computer that is logged in with the Apple ID you plan on using on all three, the Apple ID should be transferred to the iPhone and iPad for the iTunes & App Stores on each device. If not, you'll need to sign out of the existing Apple ID on the iPhone and iPad followed by signing in with the Apple ID you want to use on both.
Keep in mind that all 3rd party apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account or Apple ID that was used to download the apps. With an app installed on your iPad and iPhone that was downloaded with a different Apple ID from the one you will be using now, you will need to use that Apple ID and password to install app updates for those apps. Not possible to transfer apps purchased with one Apple ID to another or to merge Apple IDs.

  • Why can't my calculator connect to my MacBook Pro?

I use a TI-84 Plus (recently upgraded to version 2.55) and a TI-89 Titanium on a regular basis for school, and I create my own programs for my benefit. I have connected both calculators to my PC with TI Connect multiple times without a problem to sync programs and rearrange files, but I want to use TI Connect X for Mac to use the new version with a program editor. Upon installing TI-Connect and connecting my calculator(s) to the computer, I receive no indication that my calculator is seen by the application. Only after turning off and then back on my calculator do I get this message:
It reads: "Alert - A device was connected, but we could not communicate with it for some reason."
This has happened with both my calculators every time I try. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, used different cables, downloaded the software again, and connected to different usb ports, all to no avail. I sought out help from TI for this, and it was concluded that the problem was probably with my MacBook Pro because I am still able to connect to my PC and my friends' Macs, under the same conditions.
Does anyone know of a reason for why my TI-84 Plus and/or TI-89 Titanium cannot connect to my new MacBook Pro using the TI Connect X software?

Ok, so I went to Best Buy in an attempt to buy a TI cable hoping this would fix the problem. One of the guys from the Geek Squad told me TI's accessory products are not proprietary so it shouldn't matter what cable I used and directed me to the cell phone area for a generic USB-to-mini cable as they did not sell TI cables. I bought one for good measure just to make sure I didn't have a bad cable at home. STILL the same problem and error. I sent TI a message through their website trying to get help on the issue and this is what they said:
"First, I would like to inform you that Texas Instruments has not tested this software on your platform. It was last updated to work with Macintosh 10.6.4 OS. While we will continue to troubleshoot any issues that may arise I am not able to guarantee that a solution may be available.
Since you have Snow Leopard OS I am assuming that you either have 10.6.5 - 10.6.8 OS, if I am incorrect please correct me so that I continue troubleshooting. At this point, our software developers have become aware of an issue with our software and your platform. They are working on possible solutions for a possible future update to the software. Unfortunately, I do not have an estimated time frame as to when this update may become available. I do apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused."
I definitely have 10.6.8 so I guess I'll be waiting for the software developers to do their thing. If you've got 10.6.4 then you should contact TI for more help.

Do you have the latest Adobe Flash Player installed? If not then go to the Adobe site and download and install it.

An alert box should pop up saying you need Microsoft Silverlight installed. Supposedly, you need to be using Firefox or Safari, but I haven't had issues with Chrome. Here's the download link http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx

  • Why can't I doubleside print in my macbook pro 2011 word program

why can't I doubleside print in my macbook pro 2011 word program
    does anyone know

The easiest way to produce double-sided publications is to print them on a printer that supports duplex printing. You can usually learn whether your printer supports duplex printing either by looking at the information that was included with the printer or by looking at the printer's properties. Some printers offer the option of automatically printing on both sides of a sheet of paper (automatic duplex printing). Other printers provide instructions so that you can manually reinsert pages to print the second side (manual duplex printing). Some printers do not offer duplex printing at all. If your printer doesn't offer automatic duplex printing, you can follow these steps to manually print on both sides of the paper. On the File menu, click Print. On the Printer pop-up menu, select the printer that you want. On the Copies & Pages pop-up menu, click Microsoft Word. Click Odd pages only. After the odd pages are printed, flip the stack of pages over, reinsert the stack into the printer, repeat steps 1 through 3, and then click Even pages only. Depending on the printer model, you might have to rotate and reorder the pages to print the other side of the stack

  • This is the same question I've asked 3x in 24 hours, but it doesn't appear in the listing. Maybe I need help in phrasing questions?:)Q. why can I play some DVDs on my MacBook Pro but not on desk top Apple (they're both -1 year olds

    Hi
This'll be my third attempt in 24 hrs to ask the same question. maybe I need guidance on phrasing questions?:)
    Q. Why can I always play DVDs on my MacBook Pro but not always on my desk top Apple. They're both less than  year old. The desk top sometimes displays a message that says I have to change regions (from Australia to South America...doh...)

    Region Code 4:
Mexico, Central and South America, and the South Pacific.
Includes Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Falkland Islands, French Guiana, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, New Guinea, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela
Apparently my first response was off in left field.  The DVD player has its own code.  My recommendation is to change the code when it asks.  It is possible that the disks that play correctly are region-free and the ones that don't have a region code.  If this does not work, you still have four more changes available; you won't be stuck with the new code.

  • Connect my new Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion to my HP PhotoSmart B210

How can I connect my new MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion to my hp b210 printer?  My printer is about 1.5 years old and works wirelessly just fine with my PC.  I just switched to mac.  The printer is supposed to be airprint compatible according to HP.  HP has no software drivers for me to download.  Instead they say to use Mac Software Update to get the software.  However, there are no updates when I try that.  I have tried adding the printer manually using it's IP address and can print a test page, but when I try to print using an application on the Mac it cannot find the printer or says the printer is in use.  Help!!!

I have a Samsung VGA Monitor connected to my MacBook Pro using the Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter.  How do I configure the computer so that it doesn't sleep when I close the lid of the computer.

    Hi alangium,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!

    18. What is the maximum resolution available for use with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter?
The resolution available with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter is 1920 x 1200. VGA displays that use higher refresh rates (such as 85 Hz) at resolutions of 1600 x 1200 or greater may not generate video properly until you lower the refresh rate.

    How can I detect displays?
If the detect displays option is not available, hold down the Option key while you are in the Display pane.
How do I select additional resolutions on my display?
You can use the Display pane of System Preferences to specify how your display works. Not all options appear for all display models. By default the best resolution for your display will already be selected in System Preferences.
To select a different resolution, use the Scaled option. Some additional resolutions may be available when you hold the Option button.
I hope this information helps ....

  • If I buy an external hard drive for my new MacBook Pro with the retina display, can I play The Sims 3 on it?

    Hi!
I recently bought the new MacBook Pro with the new retina display, but since it does not have a dvd/cd drive, I was going to buy an external one. I think I will be able to use it to watch dvds, but can I also play the computergame The Sims 3 on it? If not is there anything else I can do?
    Thank you!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can try formatting the external drive on your eMac using Disk Utility and choosing a well-known format > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html. It's quite possible that your new iMac would be able to read it, but first, tell us which formats Disk Utility lists.
If you have those songs in iTunes, simply go to Music folder and copy the iTunes folder to the external drive. Then, connect it to the iMac and copy the iTunes folder to Music folder.
If they are not in iTunes, copy your songs to the external drive. Then, connect it to your new iMac, open iTunes and drag the songs into it
